  • Pak-Afghan Borders Sealed And Visas Denied

Quetta: Pakistan has sealed off all borders with Afghanistan in order to curb the massive influx of Afghans into the country and prevent cross-border terrorist attacks, Interior Minister Rehman Malik has said.

Addressing a news conference at the CM Secretariat, Malik said that the government had imposed a complete ban on the movement of Afghan refugees and other foreign nationals by restricting their movement to the locality where they resided. 'Afghanistan is a neighbourly country, but it does not mean that its nationals would be allowed to take part in terrorist activities,' the Daily Times quoted Malik, as saying. 'There will be a complete restriction on the movement of Afghan refugees in Balochistan and KP,' he told journalists.

The minister said that Pakistan has also banned issuing Visit Visas to Afghans. 'There will be no Afghan visiting Pakistan on a Visit Visa,' he said. Malik said that Taliban leaders had come to Quetta as they were wiped out from the remote areas. 'Now they target security officials and their families,' he said, referring to the recent twin suicide attacks on the residence of Frontier Corps (FC) DIG Farrukh Shehzad. 'These Afghan refugees were given shelter here and provided with food. Now they have turned against Pakistan,' the minister complained

He also said that the Pakistan Army, the Frontier Corps, police and Balochistan Levies had been asked to place a check on the free movement of Afghan refugees and other foreigners, and bar them from entering major human settlements. 'We have given the deadline of one month to illegal immigrants to obtain their refugee cards, otherwise they would be arrested and deported to Afghanistan after completing their sentences,' Malik said. He informed the media that the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) had cancelled 90,000 ID cards so far and the scrutiny of other ID cards was underway. 'We have to revive some check posts in remote parts of country by September 25. All the entry and exit points of Quetta city are also being sealed off to prevent the entry of terrorists,' he added. 'Afghans and other foreigners will be checked at entry points,' Malik said, adding that a survey would soon be conducted in Quetta to collect details about alien people residing in the city. 'No one should rent a house to any refugee or a foreigner,' the minister ordered.

'No one should rent a house to any refugee or a foreigner,'
so he is saying that Afghans are terrorists and they should be monitored like the jews were in Nazi germany.

what a shame that these Pakistanis can talk like this about afghans.

          Graveyardofempires,
I'm really getting sick and tired of the way you are talking. No matter what the case is, if someone attacks or insults you, you report the post. This is my final warning to all those with these cildish, attention begging tactics.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

If anybody attacks you, or your mother, you should know what to do. You know I take action when I feel there is a need for it. I don't play those kind of games. However, the whole 'Paki' this or that, also must stop. We must be ethical, and debate with proper etiquette. Please respect your interlocutor.

Why afsoos? How pashtun nation has just become divided into two by this sealing of border?...it was already divided into two countries.
Khyber pakhtunkhwa's peace and security is destroyed and as its inhabitant i would wish for every step to be taken to restore peace and stability whether it is sealing of border or restriction of movements of afghan refugees in pakistan. It is a clear fact that afghan governament and its people are extremely anti-pakistanis and have joined hands with enemies of pakistan so one should be cautioned of them in pakistan. Baloch insurgency is supported through afghanistan so same can be the said about KP.
If you people expects people of khyber pakhtunkhwa to have protests on sealing of border then you are wrong. No such news will be ever heard regarding this. Even if pakistan governament decides to expel all afghan refuges, no protest would be observed from pashtuns of pakistan.

Now back to the topic. This thread clearly shows us that Pakistan has traditionally used Islam as nothing but an outstanding ‘foreign policy’. What happened to Islam now? Pakistan must be held accountable for its due share in the misery of Afghans. It very eloquently supported the Taliban, recognized them, and offered support to them. In fact, according to London School of Economics, they even admitted that the Pakistan very clearly offers not only moral support, but financial support. This is sort of an ‘open-secret’. However, let’s put politics to the side. I thought Pakistan was a country made for Muslims? Are Afghans not Muslims? Are innocent Baluch, Chechyns perhaps not Muslim? When did they deviate? How dare a Muslim nation, not permit Muslims to enter the Holy Muslim land? Clearly, we have now realized that all that ‘Muslim-talk’ was dirty politics as usual. To be blunt, I feel bad for Islam. She is abused, and misunderstood everywhere.

Why hide it under the rug? Pakistan made billions with the blood of Afghans. They received billions in military aid to fight the very same Frankenstein it harbored and supported. They orchestrated a large amount of attacks in Afghan land since they felt that there was a need for it under the ‘strategic depth’ policy. And then they have the audacity to claim they are hosting ‘refugees’. Well Dear Pakistan, if you would’ve minded your business, and maintained a neutral policy, no Afghan would have been fleeing. And even if they did return to the land of Pashtuns[Pashtunkhwa]why hold it against them? What kind of Islam is this? Pakistan nurtured, supported, and educated the very same people that they now consider ‘terrorist’s’. This is incredibly amusing. First we had the former president of the USA, Ronald Reagan considers the Mujahedeen as their moral equivalent of the American founding fathers, and now we have Pakistan, a nation that supported the very same ‘terrorist’ regime complaining about the inhabitants of Afghanistan leaving it’s nation for Pakistan? Don’t you get it? If you don’t want to see Afghans fleeing, and residing with their fellow brothers, stop supporting ideologies in Afghanistan which have isolated them. Clearly, witnessing the destruction of the Muslims across the line appeared in your best interest.

                  Caveat:

Same goes to Afghanistan, in the future, mind your business as well. I would also like to thank our fellow Pashtuns across the line for very generously embracing millions of their ethnic group. Despite not being one of them, I still sincerely appreciate it. No Pashtun of Afghanistan should forget how well the Pashtuns across the line embraced them. Dera manana.

Luffy Khan, by supporting the seal of the border, you are inadvertently supporting the division. Whether you support the division or not is your own opinion, and that is upto to an individual to the decide. I personally don't care what you support. Even if you perform the bhangra every night, I wouldn't care. What I do care about is hypocristy. And that's something which is displayed here. Let me quote you. You, yourself said, you are big on Islam, and you are now becoming a tableeghi, etc. What does Islam say about borders? Does Islam say enforce a border, and divide the Ummah? Read my response above. One one hand you claim you are a staunch Muslim, on the other hand 'Dont allow refugees!'. What happened to the kalima? Down the drain already?

The 2nd half of your post is a generalization. You have no evidence that Afghans are anti-Pakistan. Just because you have met a few, doesn't mean they all are. That's a logical fallacy. One thing I will tell you, is that by meddling in Afghan affairs, you will bound to find some Afghans who find it distasteful. Many religious Afghans hate the Pakistani state because it very openly supported the destruction of Afghans, by permitting the Americans to use it's air space. That's an opinion shared by many.

Be genuine Luffy. Don't just follow some portions of Islam. Manana. I hope you are in good health.

Nokia jee, don’t bring my family into the discussion. That’s very beghairat, and un-Pashtun of you. If you care, I am not a Pakistani, or Afghan national. I don’t owe Pakistan or Afghanistan a penny. They both have not helped me in any way, nor have I ever ‘requested their support’. So relax. I don’t possess your nationality. Just because you have no rebuttal, doesn’t mean you have to drag in family. Your post has been deleted. Aap kho akhlaq kesey nein nahey sekhaya? Mein nain ek 'lamba' post leka, os ka jawab do. Mujhai* mera family ka mat pocho, wo aap ka 'business' nahein hain. You were very upset when someone dragged your mom into this discussion, don't be a hypocrite now. Display some values, please.

You are being irrational Luffy. You claim an entire nation has destructive thoughts about you and that's wrong. Get rid of this boogey man ideology. Here, copy and paste the following in your brain, if anyone has destructive thoughts, or wishes to harm you for no reason, I will support you. You ignored my entire post, but that's fine. The point is a very elementary one. Pakistan should uphold it's values, and embrace all 'Muslims' since that was one of it's 'foundations'. Read my post more carefully. I never support oppression I never want the people of Punjab, Washington to suffer. No innocent should suffer. Even if it's a Sikh, or Russian. I am officially repeating myself now, so please read what I wrote.
