As for this topic is concerned, I for once support this plan. If I have to judge this per my own point of view, Rehman Mallik made this statement either because A; He wants to save/retrieve his image in the eyes of those people who trust Zulfiqar Mirza's accusations against Rehman Mallik. Or because B; The current Western aid to the government of Pakistan isn't enough.

If he is doing this to save the little bit of respect left for him, then after the borders are sealed and the troubles still exist in Pakistan, he will have a lot to answer his nation, such as: Why the MQM-ANP conflicts still exists. Why target killing still exists. Why Baloch movements still exists. And why Pakhtunkhwa is still being bombed. The biggest problem today in Pakistan, according to an average Pakistani himself, is ethnic tension in Karachi; I can't remember any Afghan being involved there? Another problem is drone attacks by NATO in Tribal Pakistan which happens through air, so what's the benefit of blocking ground entrances? Baloch movements exist because of the injustice they face in the country by its government, not because they get 'shelter' in Afghanistan.

But, if this has been done for more aid (my first guess), then the faces of the politicians will be absolutely mind-boggling to see when their 'proposal' will be rejected by the US. For the politicians the aid rejection will be the first loss, no more NATO export another loss, plus less corporation with the Americans in 'war against terrorism' another one. Now bare the loss. Whenever we hear of this plan being cancelled then be assured my friends, USA agreed to triple the aid.

And as for the Islamic card Admin was speaking of, it's not about who refuses the claim and who doesn't. An average Pakistani (as well as history) claims that Pakistan was made on basis of Islam. Zia Ul Haq encouraged the Mujahideen in fighting their own government for that very reason, Islam. It's another thing that Dollars speak louder than a few pathetic Islamic brotherhood speeches by a pathetic politician. For that very same Islam Afghan refugees were, so-called, let in the country. It's another thing that the government received billions of Dollars for the refugees, and now when keeping the refugees resulted in more 'loss' than the actual aid, the fake-ism of Islamic brotherhood is gone from the hearts of the politicians as well.

I say, let this happen. Let the Pakistani government for the first in their life do something they have never done before; Follow their own orders. At least we will find out who will truly save how many lives, and how much of the disruption on both sides actually vanishes. Oss de Amrika ya Iran zde wochwi ya na, de Pakistan de hokumat zde aw sar dwara ba sel feesad wochwi.

The karachi troubles are mostly caused by MQM and Altaf. If what Mirza has said about Altaf is true then every pakistani including (urduspeakers) should rise and shoot him in the face. He is nothing but a killer trouble maker and traitor. Even Mirza himself said that over 50-60% of the votes that MQM gets in Karachi is by force, they force urduspeakers to vote for them. So many urduspeakers i know personally are fed up of these monsters. I think MQM should be exposed further and further for their crimes against pashtuns in karachi. It is very unfortunate that the army and PPP has done nothing to bring justice to karachi by arresting these MQM gangs on the streets. But sooner or later change will come, it is already happening infact, for the first time even Media is finally speaking against MQM.

Actually The 2500 km long border can not be completely sealed, its very porous due to mountainous ranges. I agree with shayesta that it has some thing to do with zulfiqar'mirza against malik, he would naturally show his efficiency after he is labelled traitor.
Pakistan sure has many problems but here we are talking about bomb blasts in KP. Baloch issue has surely started since 1947 but baloch rebels have always sought refuge in afghanistan. And nowadays india is helping balochs through afghanistan. So if it is not possible to seal border, then all afghan refugees should be sent back to their country. And their should be ban on afghan activities including business untill afghan governament turns pakistan friendly.

Do you have any evidence that innocents, who are running away because of Pakistans destructive policy are a 'security threat'. That's a very illogical point Luffy. Lets talk about the facts, and the fact is that it is Pakistan who supported, cultivated and recognized the very same people it now deems as 'terrorists'. That's a fact, and I have evidence to back up the aforementioned claims. Don't claim to be a Muslim country, if you can't allow your fellow innocent Muslim to flee a nation, infested with an ideology that is supported and sponsord by your state. Islam pa num bandey drama ma jora wa. Dera loy gunaah da. Muslims should embrace each other, not work against destruction. And once again, you failed to offer a rebuttal to my post. Again with the 'your people'. Don't generalize, and don't make baseless assumuptions. Work for peace, don't be happy with other peoples misery. The influx of 'refugees', oh the sweet irony, aren't seeking to blow up your house. Relax. It's a shame that a Muslim nation, considers Muslims as mahajirs!

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Simply pakistan is our country and we can do what we want. If we want to seal border from our side then its our decision. No emotional peghors of islam.
And there is no need to feel insulted to be called as mohajir. Holy prophet and sahaba did hijrat and were called mohajirs in medina even though both ansaar and mohajir were arabs
The issue he is trying to point out to you Luffy is a very simple one... its one that pro Karzaa and pro freedom fighters both have. Let me put the questions/points in bullet form to make them easy to answer 1 by 1.

                                1) Pakistan has a dual mode policy where they armed Wazir and Mehsuds (and a host of other mainland KP Pashtuns and Afghans) to fight the Russkeys... and in private, there is a faction of the military that wants the freedom fighters to cross the border and be a nuisance for India and America. That is the key word "nuisance" but they do not necessarily want a definitive win for these people either. It is because they sustain the Pakistani economy and military progress with this approach.

                                2) The freedom fighters in question 1 feel that it is their religious obligation to fight a defensive struggle against the invader power. The argument that the fighters friends from Arabia brought the super power there matters not a lik or a wit to these people because they reflect on the fact that these Arabs were there because America also intervened in their countries and they were driven out there even after attempting to fight the super power on their home soil and continuing to do so:
                                http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...n_Saudi_Arabia

                                http://www.time.com/time/world/artic...451459,00.html
                                http://www.asianews.it/news-en/'Lady...dah-22260.html

Pakistan capitalizes on this sentiment but at the same time allows NATO killing machines to cross its soil. Why???

                                3) When the tribal fighters and the Afghan Taliban and the AQ folks figured out that Pakistan was both using them for its own purposes and at the same time UN/NATO efforts were proceeding on Pakistan's back, they asked Pakistan to stop giving arms to their enemies.

Is it not absurd that you take a young Wazir fighter and tell him: Across the border your enemy awaits... warsha pa dao and be brave like your ancestors were!

Then while he is walking across the border the Pakistani government is sending arms to the NATO soldier that will kill that young boy very probably?

                                4) Why is it so hard for Pakistan to simply adopt the following policy (maybe I am speaking naively here):

                                A. Tell America clearly that it does not agree with permanent bases with Afghanistan and will not allow NATO supplies to cross its borders
                                B. Tell America to cease and desist from all drone attacks on its soil or else Pak Migs will intercept the drones.
                                C. Tell Amerca clearly to leave all its bases on Pakistani soil.
                                D. Tell the tribals and the Afghan Taliban that they will not stop these folks from doing whatever it is that they think is their duty... but it cannot, for the sake of its survival, provider arms, logistics, or support???

Is the fear that America will escalate aerial bombardment of Pakistan???

                                5) As I understand it, at its inception, the Pakistani state was, under Muhammad Ali Jinnah, meant to be a secular one.

As I also understand it, Pakistan was not meant to be a meritocracy, but a plutocracy... meaning that Kuli Khan Khattak's descendents and Jangeer Arbab's descendents and Sherpao's descendents ruled and were given privileges during the British era and the state that was created allowed these installed oligarchs to continue their strangle hold over Pakistan.

A truly Islamic state is a meritocracy where so and so's son cannot buy his way into medical school or into Engineering school, but this appears to be the norm in Pakistan.

It appears that Pakistan's oligarchs are afraid that if a truly Islamic government comes into power in pakistan, then Sherpao, the Arbabs, the Achekzais, etc will have to answer for their nepotism.

For this reason, the Taliban were heroes initially on pakistani state media in the 90s but are now considered "terrorists." Why the narrative change? Can you admit that it is because H Mehsud threatens to change the status quo?

After all, it is said that the ultimate destruction of a top down system is Islam... this is exactly why Karzai and his ilk will not allow a true Islamic state to flourish... it is because Karzai, Ghani, Ameen Arsala, Seraaj, the Muhammadzai pertenders to the throne... were licking their lips when the NATO invasion took place... the Pakistanization of Afghanistan in the manner of oligarchy and nepotism was about to occur and continues to occur:

"WASHINGTON — Until recently, Taj Ayubi’s specialty was retail. Mr. Ayubi, an Afghan immigrant, ran a furniture store in Leesburg, Va., and before that, a thrift shop in Washington.

But today, Mr. Ayubi’s specialty is foreign policy. He is the senior foreign affairs adviser to the Afghan president, Hamid Karzai.

Among Mr. Ayubi’s qualifications for his post in Kabul are ties to President Karzai’s extended family. His sister is married to a Karzai, and her sons are now important junior members of the growing Karzai family network in Afghanistan."
