non muslim marriages are recognised.... they are non muslims marrying non muslims.... in the context of a muslim marrying his/ her marriage must comply with islamic law....

In an Islamic society there were many nonmuslim people, their marriage was recognized by the authorities and fully protected by the law, there were instance where imams married non muslim so they can be recognized by the state. they did not have to convert.

The main goal of marriage in Islam is the realization of tranquility and compassion between the spouses. Aslo Marriage has to be declared and never in secrete.
