Homosexuality is not limited to segregated societies.

The reason why people resort ot homosexuality is because of mental illness, of because society prevents poor people from getting married.

there are many reasons for homosexuality

      segregation

      social norms

mental illnesses can cause any sexual behavior including heterosexual sex addiction ( with women)

      group identification and acceptance.

      Genetics in some circumstances. (ijrrah)

The short of it is that we dont need to have homosexuallity for a healthy society. We do need Sex though. And a society that limits heterosexual Sex under this or that guise is just as or more distorted than a homosexual parade in San Fransisco.

So how about you providing evidence of "wahabi ijtimah" being homosexual?

Ooh did I hit a raw nerve. OOps sorry.

Well I dont frequent either shrines or iijthimahs,

'Tha yao kawaka ooweeshta chi soofian koonian dhi, and I replied in Kind'

Let us ask those that frequent such places.

Put your hand on the Quran and tell me please. "You have never seen a homosexual at an ijthimah?". Its again a simple question of logic. Where will you find a homosexual. In a gathering of men or at a brothel full of women. I rest my case.

don't divert the question. Provide evidence.

It is a fact that Sufis wrote homosexual poetry. We have dealt with htis in another thread here at great length. ANd it is a fact that in modern day Afghanistan among Sufi denomination of islam, bacha bazi is very common. In fact, a prominent warlord of a Sufi religious movment, Gul Agha Sherzai is a blatant homosexual who married a boy.

Now, can you provide any evidence that the people who you call Wahabi are guilty of homosexuality?

You started it, so convince me.

Gul Agha sherzai, whom i dont know, may be who he is has nothing to do with sufi teachings being Gay friendly. were there sufis in Baghdad that sanctioned the qazi to keep a haram of boys.

The greeks were equally fond of homosexuality in ancient times. Was Zeus a sufi Sheikh of the Nakashbandi clan. Socrates, Aristotle, Alexander all fancied boys. Lodhi the afghan king of India kept thousands such slaves. Homosexuality as a whole has been more accepted in Islamic cultures than free heterosexual conditions.

Saudi Arabia is just as full of homosexuals as any other country. do you recall one homosexual being put to death for homosexuality. However they have put plenty of men and women to death over Zina. Why the soft corner.Pakistani jails are full of Zina offenders, not one for homosexuality -Why?.

If men segregate whether in male only bars in sanfransisco, or male only Raiwand. You will find more gays in such places as compared to heterosexual gathering places.

So logically and mathematically the odds of finding a homosexual during a holy ijthimah in raiwand is much higher than at a local brothel in adjoining Lahore unless you are looking for an ijrah and then that is a total other matter.

And Fox news as someone suggested above is totally right, We pashtoons have very distorted sexual identities, wahabi or sufi, does not matter.

                        That's like asking

"Why do lunatics, fanatics and fundamentalist terrorists find interest in Islam?"

Just because they find intererst in Islam doesn't make all of Islam bad.

Just because you allow gay intellectuals to define your religion and yourself for you doesn't mean that all Muslims are defined by those people.

Just because homosexuals find pleasure in Sufism while you fail to see its beauty doesn't mean Sufism equals homosexuality.

There is beauty in Sufism? Care to elaborate on this new development?

                          Have you read Surah Shuara?

26:224 And as for the poets [they, too, are prone to deceive themselves: and so, only] those who are lost in grievous error would follow them.

                          Sahih International
                          And the poets - [only] the deviators follow them;

                          Tafsir al-Jalalayn
As for the poets, [only] the perverse follow them, in their poetry, propounding it and reciting it on their behalf to others; they are thus reprehensible.
O'faithful hearken thy vezir, for he promises them another Gandamak and for the ancestors of Hari Nalwa a similar fate has been sealed. We shall shake the foundations of their inner sanctums, written in gold and immortal will remain this endeavor of Afghans.

I thought this a pashtoon discussion. Why are you quoting 'arab folklore'. And what does that prove. That beduoins dont like poets. So what do I care. I dont care if the chimpanzees in africa dont appreciate poetry, or for that matter intellectuals in Paris been ignorant of pashto. Does not bother me one bit.

I like Hamza, Ghani, Rumi, Rehman. Could care less about bedouin heritage, dont understand a word of it and have no desire to learn in my advanced state of decay.

LOL the Qur'an in itself is one long poem, now you're gonna tell me poetry is bad?

The beauty of Sufism and Rumi's poetry is clearly visible unless you're one of those who take Islam to an extent where you don't even allow yourself room to breathe and suffocate under the weight of prohibitions and regulations that you've brought upon yourself. Relax. Islam is to bring benefit to mankind and prevent harm. Not a punishment, but the most beautiful gift there is, subhanAllah.

Well, if enjoying gay poetry is whats on offer for us, then we rather suffocate within the boundaries of Shariah.
