  • Where Do We Come From?

For everything, like the human being, that has a beginning in time, there can be only three ways of trying to explain how it came to be.

1 - Either, it was made, or created, or caused by nothing at all. In other words, it came out of nothing.

2 - Or, it created itself.

3 - Or, it has a creator, cause, or maker outside itself.

The first and second explanations are obviously impossible. It is inconceivable for something that has a beginning in time to come out of or be made of nothing at all. It is also inconceivable that it should bring itself into being. The universe and all that is in it, therefore, could not have created itself nor did it come about by chance.

The conclusion then is clear. The universe and all that is in it owe its existence to a Creator or Maker outside itself. You, as a human being, as part of the universe, owe your existence to such a Creator.

To say, as many do, that human beings came from or evolved from other creatures or that they originated from water, or that there was a big bang and everything just happened to fall in place, does not really answer the question about the origin of the universe and all that is in it, including human beings.

We can therefore conclude that any worldview that denies or does not accept the existence of a Creator of the universe is a false worldview.

They say, it was random probability!!!

meaning, randomly for no reason whatsoever, there was an initial super condensed proto matter form, which then expanded, then it cooled slowly, galaxies etc. were made, just like that, randomly, and then slowly by random probability humanity was born in a process over billions of years!!

According the to the Holy Quran we evolved. However, it was guided evolution not natural selection.
Islam will prevail, a promise made by the Creator of this universe:

[61:8] They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.

[61:9] He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.

So far the only plausible theory to provide rationale for the origin of not only human beings, but every other life form is the Biological Evolution theory. And there is plenty of genetic and palentologic evidence available to support this theory unlike the lame attempts made by the proponents of the Creationism.
If you have already concluded before the start of the debate that everything owes its existence to God, then there is no point of discussing it.
However, I would still like to know that if God has created everything, then who created God?

The Prophet (saw) has answered that. He (saw) says that he who understands himself (or where he came from) understands Allah (or where He came from).

That is enough to satisfy a creationist, not an evolutionist.

                Dear sister,

you have to understand the difference between faith and scientific truths. Scientific truths will keep unraveling itself until the whole of the universe is swallowed by the black hole.

In your lifetime you will never get scientific truths for everything 100%.

Scientific truths are only there to help us understand our universe...it does not invent anything new.

Faith gives the answer, scientific truths proves them correct. Simple.

And one should always seek the truth...for that's what the purpose of knowledge is..

And what exactly is the difference between the two? Or is it that the word "natural" is replaced with "guided" to indicate that, though it's the same thing, God was still involved and had already planned for it to be that way? If so, that's been heavily discussed among theist philosophers and scientists ever since the incipient stages of debates on evolution. We should make ourselves aware of both.

If that's not what it is, though, then I'm interested to know.

Who says or said this? Care for citation? Because the evolution I've studied doesn't say this.

                          Dearest sister,

One does not have the inclusion of a creator--it is based on chance. The other is based on intricate guidance at every stage by a Creator.

I know this was prolly intended as a joke, but I wanna say this for the sake of enlightening you about evolution - evolution 101:

One of the biggest and most frustrating misconceptions about evolution is that humans evolved or came from apes/monkeys.

This is so untrue it couldn't be more true!

You see, evolution doesn't say that, and Darwin never, ever made such a silly claim either. What evolution says, though, is that apes and humans share the same (or common) ancestor. This is not the same claim as "humans came from monkeys." Good God, we just have the same ancestor. In simplest words: We are the siblings (or maybe cousins) of apes, but we're NOT the children of apes (i.e., evolving from them).

And I'm not sure about everyone else, especially those who don't know anything about evolution and deny it, but ... um ... just observing apes and monkeys in general, I note many, many similarities between us and them. But science knows better than to make such an observation and then make a radical claim that "YES! This proves that we have the same ancestor!" So what science does, instead, is compare our DNA. If we don't have the same ancestor, why else do you suppose the DNA of monkeys and humans is over 98% the same? There MUST be a reason for this. What do you think it would be? Or did it just so "randomly" happen that monkeys and humans have over 98% DNA? I mean, 98% is a huuuuge similarity - nothing small either.

What I don't understand, though, is why most theists are fooled into thinking that accepting this theory of human creation, one is denying that God created it. But how? How's this denying that? How are we denying God's involvement in this?

P.S. Note my emphasis on "common ancestor."

What is considered a "plausible" theory?

The universe to science is like an old book. The first and last pages are lost. So there is nothing plausible at a state of ignorance. When the answer is right in front of you and you deny it. The Quran has already answered this question.

Science is just part of knowledge. And not knowledge itself.

Anyways i am not getting into this silly evolution talk. My first post is enough to prove everything other than a creator as illogical.

However, I would still like to know that if God has created everything, then who created God?
One of the attributes of Allah is "the eternal." By definition eternal is forever with no beginning. Therefore the question is absurd.

                              Only non-eternal beings are created.

By logic, everyone agrees with the fact that there was something eternal which gave life to this universe and everything. This eternal is everlasting and intelligent known as Allah.
