Yes. Practicing or believing in black magic and stuff is kufr. However, I don't know much about nazar. They say that it exists. But even if it did existed, you need to seek help from allah, not from objects. Since writing verses or dua on a piece of paper is still an object. And objects are not helping anyone. Allah does.

So we must rely on allah alone.

This is incorrect. The permissibility of using ta`wiz is reported from many of the Companions. Imam al-Nawawi (ra) writes about the permissibility of using ta`wiz:
One may adduce as evidence for their permissiblity the hadith of `Amr ibn Shu`ayb, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to teach them for fearful situations the words,

“I seek refuge in Allah’s perfect words from His wrath, the evil of His servants, the whispered insinuations of devils, and lest they come to me.”

`Abdullah ibn `Amr used to teach these words to those of his sons who had reached the age of reason, and used to write them and hang them upon those who had not (al-Majmu` (y108), 2.71). (Reliance of the Traveller, w17.2. Emphasis mine.)

His sons could not read nor memorize those verses at a young age. Yet Sufis use this to legitimize their business of selling Tawiz to people and claim its an Islamic practice. Howev er it is false and it is heresy.

Using tawiz today is not for the same purpose Abdullah Ibn Amr ra did 1400 ago. Today if you get a tawiz, you will most likely get one that contains Kaballah script and other sorts of black magic. And if it doesn't than the one who makes it and the one who wears it are usually both literate and both believe that the tawiz has magical powers and has the ability solve peopels problems. This is why this is shirk. And this is why we should not use it.

What do you mean "rely"? Allah Most High has created means for us to use. Medicine is a means, doctors are a means. Seeing a doctor or taking medicine is not shirk. Cure and healing are ultimately from Allah Most High; everyone knows and believes that. But Allah has given us means. Ta`wiz is a means.

Using ta`wiz is permissible in Islam. The charges of shirk and bid`a are unfounded and part of a larger scheme to mislead Muslims from traditional Islam.

A companion of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) practiced something "false and heretical" (Allah forbid) just because his sons could not read or memorize? SubhanAllah. Did Imam al-Nawawi (ra) misinterpret this hadith and only we truly understand it? Ta`wiz is permissible according to the majority of the scholars of the Ahl al-Sunna. Did they all misinterpret this hadith?

Can you show an example of a single ta`wiz that contains "Kaballah script"?

                From Sahih Bukhari:
5404. Abu'l-Mutawakkil related from Abu Sa'id al-Khudri that some of the Companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, went to one of the Arab tribes who did not give them hospitality. While they were like that, the chief of the tribe was bitten or strung. They asked, 'Do you have any medicine or incantation?" They said, "You did not give us hospitality, so we will not do that unless you give us a wage for it." They allotted some sheep for them. [One] recited the Umm al-Qur'an and collected his saliva and spat it on the spot. The man was cured and they brought the sheep. The [Companions] said, "We will not take them until we ask the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace." They asked him and he laughed and said, "How did you know that it is an incantation? Take it and gave me a share." (Sahih al-Bukhari. Bold mine.)
Is that magical power or not?

Don't deliberately mis-interpret my statements. I did not say that a companion did something heretical or whatever.

You live in an imaginarey world. Go to Afghanistan and open those tawiz you get from those Sufi pirs faqirs and others. It contains Kaballah symbols. I've seen them myself.

Reciting qur'an and making what we calla a "choof" is permissible. However, this does not mean you can do all the funny black magic stuff people are doing right now.

The inventors of the word traditional islam are people who do not want Islam to be based on Qur'an and sahih hadith. But rather on practices and preferences of Sufis. They claim that they practice the correct Islam because it is "traditional". But they are lying. Because if a practice that is an innovation and contradicts Islam is widespread, this still does not make it valid.

Allah subhana wa ta'ala did give us many means to treat ourselves. But alhamdulilah our religion is a rational relgion which does not rely on magic and hocus pocus. Medicine is a science and healing products such as herbs are true valid means.

But we are supposed to rely on allah alone. This is why there are many cases of medication not being able to cure disease. Because if allah wills, we will be cured and if he doesn't then we will die.

However, a tawiz as it is practiced by people who write all sorts of Kaballah nonsense in those pieces of paper and sell it it not Islamic. Its black magic and its shirk.

And even if it is only a verse of the qur'an, if people rely on that piece of paper alone and expect that piece of paper to be able to help them, then yes they are commiting shirk. Since paper with quranic verses written on it does not have any special power. Allah does. And therefore we must rely solely on allah.

The inventors of the word traditional islam are people who do not want Islam to be based on Qur'an and sahih hadith
There are no "inventors" of the phrase, brother. Traditional Islam (orthodox Islam, mainstream Islam) is Sunni (Ahl al-Sunna) Islam. It is the four madhhabs (Hanafi, Maliki, Shafi`i, Hanbali) of fiqh, and the madhhabs of `aqida. This is mainstream/traditional Islam, practiced by the vast majority of Muslims since the time of the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace). All of the great scholars of Islam belonged to this tradition. None knew, understood, and practiced the Qur'an and Sunna better than them.

Again, ta`wiz is permissible according to the Hanafi madhhab. The majority of us here, like the majority of Afghans elsewhere, are Hanafi. These are the facts.

Allah subhana wa ta'ala did give us many means to treat ourselves. But alhamdulilah our religion is a rational relgion which does not rely on magic and hocus pocus. Medicine is a science and healing products such as herbs are true valid means.
Some will tell you that reciting the Qur'an and blowing/spitting for healing is "hocus pocus" and not science. Do the acceptable means change for them? The point is, brother, we should not make sweeping statements like "when you rely on other than Allah." There are means in the world for use towards ends. The Shari`a defines what means are permissible and what are not. According to the Shari`a, ta`wiz is a permissible means.

Using the "majority" argument you are not going to add substance to your argument. The 4 madhayeb have their good and bad aspects. We as Muslims are supposed to follow the truth which is in the Qur'an and sahih hadith. The opinion of any school cannot supercede Qur'an or hadith.

So stop bringing this up over and over again because it does not add any value to your arguments.

If reciting qur'an and spitting was practiced by the companions then it is a religious practice. Some might argue this or that. Reciting the Qur'an is what counts. Since the words count. And we believe those words to be the words of allah.

However, a piece of paper is still not able to do any tricks. It is allah who is doing everything. And you are deliberately dodging the fact I keep pointing out to. Namely the evil practice of shirk and mixture of kaballah in tawiz.

This reveals that you don't want to accept the fact that today the insititution of tawiz is in fact a trade, a business, a scam and a means for people to make money and people do believe those items have magical powers and they rely on those objects rather than on allah and they believe those objects can help them.

You can carry on post 100 posts saying tawiz is permissible. And you can quote who-ever you want to. This does not justify the evil practices that are prevalent in the tawiz culture among Muslims. It still does not justify the shirk that is involved in it.

Islam is foremost the religion of tawheed. Not the religion of tradition and customs which are evolved through the ages stemming from kaballah or other.

There are no bad aspects to the madhhabs. The madhhabs are based upon the Qur'an and Sunna; they do not supercede or contravene them.

We as lay Muslims follow madhhabs. We do not attempt to derive rulings from the Qur'an and Sunna on our own. The Qur'an and Sunna are primary sources, and we as non-scholars are not qualified to interpret and apply them independently. We cannot pick up a translation of the Qur'an and a translation of Bukhari and say, "I don't need a madhhab." And we cannot assume, based on our reading of a verse or a hadith, that the madhhab contravenes the Qur'an and Sunna, because we have no knowledge of the evidences, of the Qur'an, the Sunna, Ijma`, and Qiyas.

When we go to a doctor, we explain our symptoms and then rely on the doctor's knowledge. We take the medicine the doctor prescribes. We don't go reading through books of science and medicine attempting to cure ourselves. Nor do we throw our medicine away just because something we read somewhere seems (to our untrained eye) to contradict the doctor.

However, a piece of paper is still not able to do any tricks. It is allah who is doing everything.
No one denies this, brother. Everything is by the Will and Power of Allah Most High.

And you are deliberately dodging the fact I keep pointing out to. Namely the evil practice of shirk and mixture of kaballah in tawiz.
Please explain to us, without linking a YouTube video, how Kaballah is used in ta`wiz. And does the similarity of a Muslim practice to a non-Muslim practice necessarily make the Muslim practice void? Couldn't the non-Muslim practice be based on the truth in their tradition?

This reveals that you don't want to accept the fact that today the insititution of tawiz is in fact a trade, a business, a scam and a means for people to make money and people do believe those items have magical powers and they rely on those objects rather than on allah and they believe those objects can help them.
The misuse of something does not make the practice itself impermissible. A person's scam to make money has no bearing on the permissibility of the practice itself.

And how do we know what is in the hearts of people and what they believe? Alhamdulillah, Muslim know Allah and know their religion. Let us think well of our fellow Muslims and let us not presume bad on their part.

Kaballah is based on truth? LOL!!!

Allah did not make this religion for us so that we read Qur'an but not try to understand it, or read hadith and not trying to understand it. Allah did not make this religion for us to follow Mullah's blindly.

Blindly following Mullahs is what Jews & Christians did. This is why they have deviated.

I am tired of talking sense to you. I am off. You need to stop following those people blindly. You have a brain of your own. And start using it.
