Well, Did the prophet conduct a major Islah of the entire Arabian peninsula to establish Shariah law?

No. He only made it possible for a determined and dedicated group of his companions to learn Islam thoroughly so they can spread it.

Before implementing any sort of sharia law, our people need major "Islah" and coming to the true undrestanding of Islam. We shouldn't just focus on the outer aspects of sharia but also the inner aspects. As you know the biggest Jihad is against one's "Nafs". The people need better scholars and teachers who undrestand the problems of the modern world and modern youth. The old style mullahs are frankly outdated even though they might be good people.
The true image of Islam has to be presented to people and I'm sure they will themselves willingly chose Islamic way of life rather than secularism. Once the veil is lifted over the fake "democracy" and the false notion of "freedom", people will realize how meaningless these concepts are.
Exactly, so we have to educate ourselves first and then share the knowledge with others through means such as this forum. We should't underestimate the power of the internet to transform the public opinion of the masses and thereby change ourselves positively and then also the society will reflect that postive change inshallah. As God says in the Quran, God wil not change the situation of the people, until they change themselves first. This is the bottom-up approach.

But this process will be much more effective and achieved quickly if the the government of a nation becomes Islamic, like the prophet established an islamic state in Medina, then you have the strengt and resources to implement the islamic policies and laws in order to really change the society as a whole as well as to invite the people to Islam with arguments, then you will have the freedom to practice and preach the whole of Islam, not just the political correct version of it. Then you can also establish good education instititions in which the people are not brainwashed by western propaganda and alien idea's, but real science and Islam.

I agree that not everyone will accept the truth no matter how apparent it becomes to them because Allah only guides those whom he wills. The job of the prophet (pbuh) was to deliver the message in clear way and show by his way of life and sunnah what Islam means. Its upto people to accept or reject it. All I am saying is we need to present a clear image of Islam to our people and if possible show by example. Its upto them then if they accept or reject it.
This will only be possible if you have the real freedom and strengt to implement the Islamic ideals and principles. It won't happen as long as your countries are occupied, puppets and apostates are ruling over you and brainwashing your population with their filthy propaganda and Indian soaps. In this environment the masses are kept asleep and dosed with the opium of the mass-media, music, prositition etc. We should first remove these barriers and achieve real freedom and independence, like the prophet did in Medina and achieve both material and spiritual strengt, only then can you confince the people of the truth of Islam.

You might say our consitiutions and institutions provide those rules too?

Well religion predates geographic boundaries, and all of these rules and laws we live by today have been derived from these religions.

Another way to look at it is,

We have all these laws and whatnot for others to judge us, but we need religion to judge ourselves, think about our own actions and define our own realities
So, by your logic, now that we have developed civilization, we have no need for religion?

well you can see it happening already

look at all the western countries and how they have moved away from religion even though all of their laws are based on religious grounds..You will find the same stuff in constitutions that you found in religious texts ages ago.

And as for Islam, in time it will disappear too its written in the quran, and that for those who belive marks the judgement day.

But other than purely logical arguments, what i mentioned in the end carries more weight i think. We need religion to self-analyse ourselves, our actions there consequences and to have faith that we will have to face the consequences of our actions and we will have to answer to God one day.

Its only fair isn't it ?
