ADMIN should take note of the persons polluting the cardial environment here. I will not fall down to your level, mr. comrade!
When you accuse us of being traitors and undermine the long struggle of Afghanistan for collective Pashtun well-being and that the unity of all Pashtuns - then I cannot ignore you maligning us. I have to defend my country here and every true and impartial Pashtun should be doing the same thing.

I am only paying back in kind. When you call those same people who sacrificed everything for the sake of this unity as Parsiwan clique I am left with no choice but to call you a Beghairat and some one who does not belong to the true Pashtun culture. What is the meaning of "Beghairat" and how is that a vulgar word. Every one knows that I have been a memer for long enough and I cannot be an impersonator, can you imagine how boring life would be.

I am defending my country and if Admin doesn't like that then tough. Bugger off. Next time think twice when you open your mouth about Afghanistan, I would dare you do that in my face. Thank you.

The Jewish diaspora - many who are not even born in the middle east - are the ones that fight to protect Israel's interests, through politics, media, finance, cultural programmes etc. and in turn a strong Israel reaffirms their identity.

So, for me it has always been simple. We need a strong, healthy, progressive Afghanistan that can one day radiate outwards and be inclusive of the land that includes Pashtoonkhwa.

The Jews tell stories of being banished out of their lands, let down by their rulers and having survived expulsion, rejection and extermination (and isn't this similar to our modern story?) And yet still - wherever they are they look back to Israel, and draw their strength from this. Like Israel for the Jews, Pashtoons need to see the value of Afghanistan and what it means to them. On a moral, political, emotional and cultural level - however you look at it, Afghanistan is mother and father to all Pashtoons. We should never forget.

It is this message needs to be carried, and slowly when Afghanistan is built up, watch the Pashtoons of Pashtoonkhwa turn their heads, renew their ties and invest in their own cultural renaissance. Watch people campaign to remove borders, see Afghanistan grow stronger and we have set the groundwork for the unity that will make us the formidable people that is not just the stuff of past legends, but the stuff of a shared and peaceful future.

We should drop the blame game -and the futile discussions on who is/isn't Pashtoon - there is much more to us than tracing our paternal line back to a common ancestor. We need to put some aspects of tribalism and snobbery behind us and have a long term vision. In the immediate term, what we need is a period of building up a strong Afghanistan, where yes, Pashtoons are fully represented and active in all spheres. I believe that this begins, here, right now, today.
Words of the wise. Thank you for this useful post.

I try to put up things in a polite way which can not be digested by a foull stomach. You can rebut it with your wit, if you have any, but like a gentleman. My mission is Pashtun unity and I expose only the usurpers ( are one of them ?). You have every right to express but shun vulgarity and talk like a Pashtun and not like street fighter.

Please show me the kind of my words in my post. The word" Parsiban clique" is not my own invention, it is a common phrase used for the Tajik-Uzbek-Hazara confederacy by noted writers, even from Afghanistan. One of your aide and callaborator on this page proudly use " parsiwaan" as his nickname.I talked about persons like him. Only " Ghaiatyan" knows what a " Beghairat" means? " Shame" is a word differently meant by a " shameless" and a " shameful".

I do not hate Afghanistan which is my Fatherland. I am a proud Afghan( Pashtun). How can a son be averse to his soil? I am not used to cheap street language.

Our province is renamed to pakhtunkhwa, pashto will be soon a compulsory subject in the schools...i wonder if things continue to start improving like that for pashtuns in pakistan then who will care about joining afghanistan?

So i think a prosperous and peaceful khyber pakhtunkhwa is not beneficial for unity of pashtuns.

Where are you naraan, Wrayun, Ijaz Yousufzai, Toramana etc. Come on take the lead. As for leading united Pashtun nation - my vote will to either Khyaal or Mahmud Khan Achakzai only if they choose BLS as thier deputy.
At the moment afghans should forget taking KP from pakistan for time being. They should first construct and develop their destroyed country then only they should offer the pashtuns of pakhtunkhwa to join their country.

no one is forcing and no one will inshaAllah force KP to join with Afghanistan. This unification has to be from heart. We will always wish you the best of everything... but ideally a strong and prosperous pashtoonkhwa should be beneficial for Afghanistan because a strong pashtoonkhwa ideally will start working on developing Afghanistan...

but then again we are speaking on Ideal terms.

Unification of pashtuns can happen only when pakistan will break into pieces like yogoslavia. Pakistani pashtuns are so much brainwashed by name of islam, that they consider separation from pakistan as great unislamic sort of act..

                  Luffy Jaana,

First of all who are "They"?

Who are the Afghans? We are the Afghans! How many people here keep saying this over and over? We are reaching a tipping point Luffy Jaan - this pain, these deceptions about 'foreign'ness amongst our own - divided geo-politcal national identities cannot go on. We will never progress with this mindset. Truthfully, it comes down to what Pakistan fears - half its territory going their way and turning their back on Pakistaniyat. Luffy. Pakistan is still together, so long as the US wants it that way. Once the Americans give up on that idea totally, well, consider your options then. But, khair, that is another thread.

Right now, should we all be supportive of the reconstruction of Afghanistan? Is a peaceful secure Afghanistan in all our interests? Yes. Should we be using words like "They" to describe our own people? No.

First of all, welcome back luffy.
Luffy the fact that Pakistan has weakened and their policy of the past 30 years backfired is why Pashtunkhwa is slowly rebuilding itself. Otherwise not only Pashtunkhwa but Afghanistan would be going the same negative path...however this was the only way Pashtuns would have woken up. The mess had to effect each and everyone of them to recognize the importance of their unity.

Pashtunkhwa and Afghanistan unifying will inshallah happen, I am very hopeful and sure of it. If not in our lifetime then the one after. It is naturally one region and the only times it has been divided was via external political players. In other words our division is externally propped up. Not only are we one nation but our interests are joint together. We notice today that the further destabilization of Afghanistan adversely affects the stability of Pashtunkhwa and vice versa. Now Pashtunkhwa areas also realized the mistake of supporting the militancy in Afghanistan and just how destructive the policy of strategic depth is to us. These are just the stepping stones to our final joint destiny, at least I believe so. Also the islamic card can be used for only so long...now Pakistan establishment itself is (once again) re-evaluating its own political ideology. Are they a secular country now or still the "fortress of Islam"? Does strategic depth work?

ComradePashtun, Ijaz Yousafzai is right to say that if Afghanistan was so serious/sincere in re-taking Pukhtunkhwa, why didn't it take practical action? There were many occasions on which Afghanistan could have done that e.g., in 1948 when Pakistan virtually had no standing army or in 1965 or 1971, when Pakistan had been defeated and was demoralized.

Just saying that Pashtuns of Pukhtunkhwa should have liberated themselves by their own might and then one good morning should have gone to his majesty Shah Zahir Shah (the Pesianized Mohammadzai) and told him "your majesty, we are back, take us under your benign arm", as Ijaz Yousafzai aptly paraphrased, is stupendous.

I wonder why do you blame Pashtuns of Pukhtunkhwa for failing to break the chains. We Pashtuns of Pakistan don't blame Afghanistan for failing to sincerely and genuinely play its own part until people like you come and provoke us with that "paighor" of being lessor Pashtuns.

Many Pashtuns are rational enough to uderstand that in the kind of International political environment (since 19th Century specially during the Cold War) where the world was divided into two antagonist blocks (communism and capitalism) and where borders , whether genuine-drawn or imperialism-imposed, couldn't be re-drawn without the material (political as well as economic and military) support (as well as consent) of one of the blocks, neither Pashtuns of Pukhtunkhwa could muster the strength to liberate themselves by their own might nor Afghanistan could gather the power to take Pukhtunkhwa by force.

This is also to mention that Pakistan had the full backing of the capitalist block all this time, which would never have tolerated the dismemberment of Pakistan (West Pakistan especially), because it was a pawn in the grand Western strategy to counter communism. An evidance of it is that, when India defeated Pakistan in 1971 (liberating Bangla Desh) and then was planning to destroy the West Pakistan as well, USA sent its nuclear warship to the Bay of Bengal as a warning to India that dismemberment of West Pakistan would not be tolerated (US at that time had become convinced that the union of East Pakistan i.e., Bangla Desh with West Pakistan i.e., the present Pakistan, any more would be detrimental to Western interests in that, the Bangali political rebellion and the perceived Chinese influences in East Pakistan would expand to West Pakistan as well).

ComradePashtun, for us, Ijaz Yousafzai and many other Patriotic Pashtuns, only Pashtuns are important not just a piece of land whose eastern border was specified by Sir Motamar Durand and western/north-western by Mr Simon untill it serves the genuine interests of Pashtuns.

So we would talk of Parsiwan clique like you've been talking of the Punjabi clique out of brotherly concern for us. Hope you don't take it as an insult to Afghanistan and don't insult Pashtuns no matter on which side.

And yes, the Parsiwan clique does exist. The gathering by a few Parsiwan at Pashtunistan chowk because that was then favorable with the royal court/bureaucracy doesn't indicate sincere motives. One should rather look at the entire pattern of their actions and policies instead of fixating at an event of zero-political consequences held once a year.

                          Malgariya,
It is very unfortunate that you downplay the importance of the state of Afghanistan as just a piece of land. You should know that the state of Afghanistan is the single most important asset of Pashtuns at this time. Afghanistan will always serve the interests of Pashtuns but it will always be relevant to the circumstances of the time. Even in the darkest days of the Afghan State, the 90's, Afghanistan never neglected its claim on Pashtunistan. You must also recognize the role of the international players in the region when accusing Afghanistan.
About the Parsiwan clique: Define the Parsiwan clique for me. What are its political/strategic aims? Who are in this Parsiwan clique? Shura ye Nazar, Hizb e Wahdat, Kangra e Milli, Dostum?
Secondly, I feel that it must be pointed out that this Pashtun v Parsiwan thing is misplaced. This allusion of a Parsiwan alliance against the Pashtuns is a myth propagated by the Pakis to weaken Afghanistan. The Parsiwans of Afghanistan are no great friends. Hazaras were at the recieving end of the most brutal massacres of the civil war by Ahmed Shah Massoud. The Tajiks, Uzbeks and Hazaras have no brotherly feelings for each other, they are as apart, ethnically and historically, as are Pashtuns and Tajiks.
Thirdly, what policies/actions of Afghanistan which is supposedly dominated by the Parsiwans is against the interests of Pashtuns? Has Afghanistan not exposed Pakistan as a terrorist state as a result of a successful foregin policy?
Fourth, on one side you have Pakistan which is for a systematic and institutionalized humiliation of Pashtuns and on the other hand is the so-called Parsiwan clique which has always stood for Pashtunistan. For you to see both in the same light is unfortunate indeed.
Fifth, all the issues of Pashtun v non-Pashtun in Afghanistan can be solved easily. The problems of ethnic and linguistic tensions in a state are not new and there are formulas and precedences which we can follow. The issue of linguistic dominance, which is on the wane as Pashto recieves official recognition, should not distract us of our real enemies.

Seriously malgariya, tell me one benefit to the Pashtuns of this discourse, which is baseless in the first place, that you propagate? Afghanistan sponsored many movements and people in Pakhtunkhwa, but we were busy serving our Punjabi masters. Afghanistan has always raised its voice to the fullest for us, what did we do when Afghanistan was being raped by Pakis and Arabs?

And what would you say of Ayub and Yahya and Zia? How Pashtunised were they when we swore loyalty to them? It is futile to indulge in prophecies on the basis of bygone days, but had there been a real resistance movement in Pakhtunkhwa (Charsadda, Dir, Peshawar), Afghanistan would certainly have done its bit. Considering that Afghanistan gave shelter and support to Baloch seperatists, how stupid it seems to suggest that they would abandon the Pashtuns seperatists, had there been any.

I wish we had blamed Afghanistan for this. Then we wouldn't have blamed them for being 'Afghanis' and 'Maajars' and 'Gilam Jams' and confronted them with ' Zamung Pakistan mo wa***lo'.

We understand that our neighbors intefere in our politics and brainwash us.
We simply dont understand that we are ONE NATION.

first of all theres no way we can achieve unity as a nation as long as we are divided by tribes. its a nice thing I dont say we should forget our culture and throw our identity out the window. but tribal identity has always been abused by our enemies since it was a great tool which allowed them to interfere in our politics. tahmasp quli khan aka nadir shar afshar used military power of sadozyan to drive hotakyan out kandahar. many tribes were used by royal family members striving for the throne through personal association. tribes refuse central power and reject almost every governmental regulation since they regard themselves sovereign. peoples ideology is easily controlled by foreign intelligence services etc
independent tribes occupy the main trade routes and strive often in different directions. development and political achievements are blocked by rivalry and tribal independence.
however first abolish tribal identity or at least create large confederations then we can think about unity..
The Angreezan found out very early that by supporting tribal identity they can weaken us. I can prove that and provide many sources for that. But still they knew that Pashtuns can unify ANYTIME like in times of Ahmad Shah Baba and now,
we are not only divided by tribal identity, they seperated our nation by creating two different countries making it impossible for us to unify without a revolution.
