Look you all said stan was a persian word. Technically, yes a case can be made that pashto is closer as it is from avestan. Avestan is the sister language to Sanskrit. So again, you all asserted stan was persian, and judging by your argument and logic stan might as well be from pashto or farsi or better yet any language from indo-iranian group. Sure lets add them all right?

Atrocities, have nothing to do with the current situation. People are ethnocentric and fascist. If you go to Kabul, and if you can't speak Farsi, in some offices you wont even be heard. Likewise, in other offices, if they even smell a slight Panjsheri accent, you're gone.

And this is the status quo. How much more ethnocentric can we get by choosing a neutral name for the country?

My problem is, is that if we presist on something just because of our emotional attachment to the name, in what way are we any better than others?

This emotional attachment to ancient glory of Afghans is something that is blinding people to the realities I am trying to draw people's attention to.
What are you talking about? What concerns you? Afghanistan current turmoil has nothing to do with its name. What urges you to think it is?

Those things are minimal and are disappearing. It rather has more to do with weak govt. than your Khar O Assan movement to be reckoned with. The minute the very Taliban comes in to power in Kabul you along your Khurassani/Tajik fascist cousin will be running towards Kulab-Tajikistan. So who would you chose then? Oh boy...!

Ask those who want Khurrasan, I am talking about if there are actually people who have problem with Afghanistan and want Khurassan, to consider that and the possibility of Taliban coming back, including your Tajik side family - and find out how trivial Khurrassan or Khar Aw Assan becomes to them!! Hahaha lol How can you stand for Taliban and while appeasing fascist, whom the Taliban will have the medication to turn them in to Janatian, I meant to say good muslims?!

You relax there. There are people who can take care of things - we are not yet that desperate, Snagar Agha, fameedi?

          Sangar Agha,

How much faith do you have in Taliban returning back? If they do, how prospective do you think name change will be for those minority fascist Tajiks? Please answer this question! lol

Why are you deliberately choosing this escapre route? Let's talk.

What escape route? I answered everything you said (even the statement about nationaliyaan). I even asked you that when this hypothetical even gets 30 % support I am more than happy to bring it forward and discuss from there. As of now it is more dead idea than dormant. Please bring any other assertions forward.

You should re-read my initial posts and your participation in it from the beginning and tell me if the last few replies of you in this thread make any sense to you. Because I dont know how I can add these with the previous part of this discussion.

Most of the responses by me contained some arguments you cleverly avoided by bringing up totally nonsensical issues into this like the prosecution of Pashtuns that you have admitted that your Nationalists support, and your repetition of the conspiracy theory that taliban are ruled by Pakistan which you bring up even in threads concerning weather changes.

So when you say I answered everything you said, I am guessing, you are under the assumption that I cannot read.

You brought the nationaliyaan example, you brought in the example of tajik fascists, and of Amir Abdur Rahman, and of the root of stan. These are all your arguments. You even brought in the possibility of some tajik unification, etc etc. I haven't ignored or evaded anything you have said. I know what you are talking about when it comes to renaming the country. However I disagree with it, and it is all written above.

Take a trip by car, Are you sure your an afghani because your making me have doubts. Dude you have to walk one hour from the nearest road just to get to my village of 3000 people and next to my village is another one with 4000 people and next to that one is another one and so on and so on. It sounds to me that your just a white boy who knows nothing about afghanistan but from the books.
