If you return here, could you say a few words about why you love the name Afghanistan, which particular reasons come to mind?

I love the name of Afghanistan because that is who I am, an Afghan. My parents, my grandparents were all Afghans. I dont care if Afghan meant Pashtun or means Pashtun, the point I am trying to bring is that I am a proud Afghan and my family has died for this country and the name of the country when they died defending for it was Afghanistan. We have people like the topic starter who wants to get rid of all of our historical contributions, I am sorry but it looks many don't realize when a name is changed for a country it a new country with new guidelines which means everything our forefathers have done is gone. It becomes history. maqsad the point is we should love our Afghanistan and not let intruders like Pakistan or Iran confuse that we need to change the name of the country. Khorasan is already a name of a province of Afghanistan. If Afghanistan is also named Khorasan would that not be a win for Iran? Imagine someone in Iran saying let's say Iran to Kabulistan. or lets name Pakistan to Wardakkhwa.

I am sure they will be uproar. I am an Afghan. I am nothing less than an Afghan. I will always be an Afghan. I will die for defending my country which is Afghanistan. I am sorry for late response its because I was cooking for my husband.

I'm not a fan of "democracy". I don't believe in it at all.

Do you mean in democracy for Afghanistan, or all over?

That's why I say that a powerful name sends out energy to say: "Stay away from me". Then God arranges for that to actually happen: no invasion could result.

So if Allah Subhana Wa Tallah is happy with our country's name only then He will protect us? In that case, why don't we just name it Islamistan or Muslimistan?

I don't believe it's the BEST form of government. It's better than some but not the most correct - I believe - in the eyes of God, Whose opinion is the only one we need to care about!

I don't believe I wrote "the double" of your comment. Where did you speak about my concept of the spiritual power of a name? Whether for a country or a person I believe many things attach to the name. Good or bad or a mixture.

So why not choose a name which Heaven Above likes the most?
I'm not saying that I know that, but I think it's important, despite the very wonderful comment by Dukhtar-e-Kabul and the many, many Afghans who fiercely agree with her powerful remark, to find out what name is most pleasing to God.

Your wry - or sarcastic - suggestion about Islamistan would be for all Muslims everywhere. Probably everyone agrees that there must be some name for THIS section of the Muslim world which describes the land and/or people.
Hence the various ideas being debated.

I think the same way about naming for example children. To ask God which name is preferred. Not to assign a name, for example, to appeal to popular trends. Often those are so ugly here in the U.S. They sound discordant to the ear.

About Afghanistan, I say that God must be consulted. Humans cannot EVER see the picture from above. Only God can.
So why not leave it up to God so we don't all fight here on the earth about it?
Easier said than done, I know.

4-5 years later. And still Khurasan is still a dream by some mix raced people who wants to belong to an ancient empire that was full lived by pure blooded Pashtuns etc.

To make it easier on people here. When Achaemenid empire was still around, majority of their elite fighters and high status populations came from the Ariana region, meaning 100 % pure Pashtuns. When they got to cocky against Pashtuns, we let them fight alone with their silly persian armies, what happened? Alexander raped them, and when he came to Ariana (Pashtunistan), the gay man was punished by our Pashtun ancestors, so he cried and took another route to Hindustan, there he met today's people of porkistan, it was so dirty like today's pakis. And like alexander, they loved gay stuff, so when he had some sexy time with ghumasas or Danu banu old old old ancestors, he got ill and died later.

Then Parthian Empire came, after that Sassanids, same there, Pashtuns mainly the elite force of their armies.

But always after loosing their, treasury because of 800 years wars with Romans etc, true monolithic faith, fall into corruption, injustice and other dirty minded norms. Majority of Pashtuns just left vast provinces of Persia, Parthia, Carmania, Bactria, and just defended their Pashtun soil Ariana.

In some way I feel we let our Iranian race brothers/Sisters down, poor things got totally raped by arabs and later many in the north side of our vast regional power grasp got raped by mongols. But when you see people today. I understand totally why Pashtuns left to be, humans are to easy to fell into corruption and lose their way.

It was good thing Pashtuns leaders ruled hard and keept our race pure as long they could.

Now we must return the favour to our ancient ancestors to purify our Ariana/Pashtunistan once more.

I am a proud Khorasani. I wish to rename Afghanistans name into greater Khurasan. And no madame. I do not belong to any minority group. I am half Ahmadzai Pashtun and half Tajik. This makes me a representative of the absolute majority of Afghanistan.

Changing the name will not improve the situation in Afghanistan and many people would be very angry about that. Khorasan is just a geographic term and there was no kingdom or empire called Khorasan ever. Most people today who want to rename Afghanistan are indeed anti-pashtun and have some kind of pro-iranian agenda. Afghanistan is a beautiful and ancient name and there is no reason to adopt the name Khorasan

Khurasan was an old geographical term...the real names were same as today.Like subcontinent or middleast etc...same was khurasan.
Who is half breed ? Darwin theory is proven failed.I ll write about this theory soon how its rejected and not in line with modern science.
