your argument is weak, You cant tell the germans to name their country a ethnic neutral name just because their is a large population of turks and french and dutch that live their and has german citizenship. You cant tell hindustan to change its name to more of a religious neutral name, its been called hidustan for thousands of years. When the afghans were there they called hindustan, the moghuls called it hidustan and the british called it hindustan. You have to know how geography is named. Locations are usually named after the first inhabatants of the land. You can never change the name of afghanistan. Even of all the afghans leave afghanistan. It would still be named afghanistan because they were the first original inhabatants of the land

Iran should change its name because Perians are only 45%, so should Turkey because Turks are just about half of the country and the same goes for Uzbakistan and Tajikistan etc. Other than that his entire reasons are futile for it. Forget it, this is not something one should discuss. There is nothing to discuss.

You are now going no where with your claims.
Germany was named Germany because it was Germania. Land of the Germanic tribes for thousands of years. And today, the Germans are probably 90% of Germany.
Afghanistan is a new name. It didn't exist before. Plus, not all of its inhabitants are Afghans.
If you are going to compare Germany to Afghanistan, you are going to justify that with figures. I dont think there are as many Truks and other non-Germans in Germany as there are non-Pashtuns in Afghanistan. Today, Pashtuns are less than half of Afghanistans population.
So you should give up your weak attempt of this comparison between Germany and Afghanistan.[SIZE="4"][B][CENTER][URL="www.quranawsunnat.com"]www.quranawsunnat.com

Iran should change its name. There are practically only a few Iranians in Iran. Most are semite Arabs, Jews and Turkic people.Originally posted by ComradePashtun View PostIran should change its name because Perians are only 45%, so should Turkey because Turks are just about half of the country and the same goes for Uzbakistan and Tajikistan etc. Other than that his entire reasons are futile for it. You are using a lame argument. If Khurasan is a name of a province in Iran, does this imply that Afghanistan's name shouldn't be changed to Pashtunkhwa because it is the name of a province in Pakistan?
If yes, then please tell this to you Pashtun Nationalists who want to change the name of Afghanistan into Pashtunkhwa.[SIZE="4"][B][CENTER][URL="www.quranawsunnat.com"]www.quranawsunnat.com

Sangar wrora you have no idea what are you talking about. most those bearded guys may not be yusufzais. how do you know that? may be they are the taliban warming up before suicide mission.
when did yusufzais sided british? you should learn something about them. Yusufzais and ghilzais are warrior afghans, they have fought and defended their lands by all means. how can you say some not true.

I cannot believe a Pashtun could ever suggest changing the name to Khorasan. Why don't you e-mail your buddies at the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan and see how they feel about being called the Islamic Emirate of Khorasan. The contact on their site is Dr Tariq ghazniwal
Please let us know how they reply

No, he's showing RESPECT for women by discussing various ideas.
You like the ideas or don't, at least he is explaining his point of view and treating women as equals. He IS sarcastic, which many people fail to catch at all. But not in a way of being condescending toward women, or anyone here.
Now, back to Shayesta's reply re the Hazara Mantu-seller:
Of course he is expressing the real point.
My argument is that a Clean Fresh New Horizon for the country would be symbolically helped by a new name.
Therefore, with the right name as a foundation, it will spiritually attract all the right sources of funding that really WILL result. The right countries will chip in to alleviate all this financial misery and stress.
With the wrong name, countries or businesses with little integrity will issue tons of glittering promises: We pledge this, we will donate that, give us ten years and we'll be building you a whole new country...
But they could be the WRONG countries/groups which have little intention of actually carrying out these marvelous promises.
See what I mean? The right name COULD elicit the entire matrix of GOOD for the country.
Further with the unbeatable name of Khorasan, enemies will not dare to attack.
[Same with Aryana, perhaps.]
Whereas, let's be honest, Afghanistan says to today's world : chaotic, easy to invade, disorganized, etc.
Khorasan snaps one to attention. No one would think to mess with the residents of Khorasan!
But the world does remember the tumult of this time inextricably connected to the name Afghanistan. I am not worried so much about the rivalry of the major ethnic groups.
My fear is that after the US leaves, yet some OTHER power may decide to try THEIR hand to control the country. Or several countries squabble over exerting control.
So the newly free country MUST be very powerful to intimidate everybody!

You are contradicting yourself first you say that the pushtun population is 1/3 then you say it is 1/2 the population of afghanistan. Nobody agrees with you on the percentage of popualtion of pushtuns in the country. The tajic nationals can fabricate this all they want but you can never defeat the truthOriginally posted by شمله ور خراساني View PostYou are now going no where with your claims.

Its not just germany its every country in the world, Every country has minorities. And afghanistan is not new. the areas west of the indus was always refer it as afghania. The pashtuns never called themselves afghans until later on after the 1600. It was the persians and other groups west and north of tham even the arabs called the pashtuns afghans for thousands of years before that. What is khoroson the persian empire used to call the eastern side of them khorason "sun rises" side then why not call it "mayr khwa",
maybe we should call it gandhara or bukhara or maybe the west himilayan republic you cant get more ethnic neutral than that. or you could do what alexander did rename every city alexanandria and you know how long that lasted. if it aint broke dont fix it

Well well well the true colour is coming out (ذات ماهي خطا نمياي).Originally posted by شمله ور خراساني View PostI am a proud Khorasani. I wish to rename Afghanistans name into greater Khurasan. It's begger belief why we should name our country after Donkey and horse(خر او اسان).~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
