Secondly Pashtunwali is a moral code.. we have Quran why do you need an additional code? Its a pagan code and should be banned.
Since Pashtuns are Tribal people, Government doesn't really exist or recognized so pashtunwali is an unwritten law or code that is used as a basis to resolve disputes. Pashtunwali is not set in stone, it is changed all the time as long as its believed that dignity is preserved.

Most pashtuns wont answer the question "are you Muslim first or Pashtun first" because we are told to believe they are synonyms.

ban Norowz because it's unislamic, but let's bring something very Islamic, right from the heart of Islamic world, like this high culture

          Muslim first Off course.
It is mostly those Pashtun nationalists like asfandyar who would have have a problem conforming this. That's why you hear them say that they are Pakistanis for the past 6 years, Muslims for the past 1400 years but Pashtuns for the past 5000 years. I find that to be an ignorant statement.

            Excuse me brother
But who is jahil people you are referring to?
People like unknownuser actually prove the case against nowroz and how it's problematic.

seems like some people just want to exterminate anything that didn't come out of an Arab tbf.

Had Nowroz been an Arab holiday, people would have no problem with it. After all what is exactly the point of Eid and Fasting? It's to create some sort of culture (strenghtened by a religious aspect)

It's one thing to submit to God, and another thing to give human beings a similar level of authority.

To be frank with you guys, this level of hostility towards anything pre-Islamic that are otherwise in no way in conflict with Islam, will only persuade people away from Islam, not encourage them to be ''more'' Muslims. Islam encompasses a vast region, there are platitudes of different cultures. You start banning this, and banning that, to create some sort of uni/pan Islam culture, you will end up with negative results.

It's very likely Nowroz has been celebrated in central asia for 5000-6000 years, probably since the time the Iranic/Aryan tribes were born, let alone the 1000s years later coming of Zoroaster. This region has been Muslim for close to 1000 years now, and in all that time people have still celebrated Nowroz without deviating away from Islam. Like someone else said in another thread, this is like fixing something that don't need fixing.

To be fair, they're trying to get stuff like this banned too .....which I would be okay with, but they think art, music, dancing, celebration is contemptible and can't distinguish.....which is what I find problematic

Also this is the malaya dance which comes from African migrants, and not really an Arab thing.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

I agree with this .....this hyper beligerent attitude to people's pre-Islamic heritage will have the opposite effect,

They need to target things like the dancing you showed and leave wholesome things alone ...even if they're "Pre-Islamic".

That's not true ; they're targeting Arab heritage too. they're anti-cultural, but they're not biased in which cultures they target ...still a problem though.

                          How is it a problem?
                          What culture and heritage?
                          And who are "they'?
Culture to Muslims is derived from Islam ,Qur'an and Sunnah.
Anything going against it is not worthy calling culture.
Off course Islam is also against cultural practices of Arabs which are un Islamic. Thanks to Islam culture of having slaves and burrying daughters was banned. Islam is forward and progressive so why should anyone cling to those practices which are deemed against it.

                            Bachabazi,chiraghkoshi are also cultural practices.
                            Why are treated that differently?

because they harm people and other beings

That is a very liberal view as anything that isn't hurting someone else is OK.
From Islamic point of view anything that has religious connotations and is dedicated to other than Allah swt is harmful.
