This isn't entirely true since the Persians also used Persian for other things like poetry and culture, So Al-Tusi and Ibn Sina could have used Persian, they chose not to in their scientific works.

Most of the Areas that adopted Arabic as their language were already Semitic Speakers so it wasn't a dramatic transition.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

    • So we should speak Arabic on the basis of what? What exactly are the benefits of speaking Arabic when only usage is to be able to read an Arab centric religoous book?

All Arabs have going for them is oil..at least for now. otherwise they'd all still live as desert nomads.

Islam is not strong enough argument since its only a religion/faith...someone can pray to God in any language and I am sure the argument is fair that as almighty as God is he willl understand nonetheless. Lol

Most non arab muslims (by this I mean close to 99%, basically the avarage non arab muslim) dont speak nor understand significant amount Arabic but they may pray to god nonetheless. This is the proof that Islam can be practised without knowlede of Arabic language and without Arabocentrism part of Islam.

Most Hindus I know are too intellectual to worry about such topics, but lot of those Hindu Nationalist or "Hindutva" types do have this obsession with White Skin and being fair and having some connection to Afghanistan just like it is common among Pakistani Nationalists.

My Thesis adviser was Hindu and I couldn't imagine him giving a flying F*ck about Afghanistan, he didn't even realize I was Afghan He thought I was Egyptian because my first name is one many Egyptians have. He knew I was Muslim though.

Its a superior language than Arab considering Most scientific data from last 500 years is on English, not Arabic. Its already spoken by most of the world since it has become language of science and business.

We should use Arabic as a Linga Fracna to communicate internationally between different Muslim societies with regards to science, commerce and religion. This makes sense since ancient Persian Scientists also used Arabic to communicate internationally.Although you made a fair argument about Farsi; so I may reconsider for Farsi as linga franca, since it's easier to learn than Arabic, shorter learning curve.

Why not English? Well because it keeps us dependent on the West. The goal is to break Western dependence which is currently used as a socio-economic instrument against us.It's not about what Arabs have going for them; Arabic has a historical significance for Muslims, both through our religious text and a text used by many Intellegestia. By doing this we can bridge between different Muslim people more effectively and also create much more transparency.

Sounds like removing Western dependancy/supremacy and replace it with with Arab equivalent. First off The problem is that Muslim unity or brotherhood never existed nor or exists today. Muslims have nothing in common except a religion spread to the shores of their ancestors mainly by armies and conquistadors. Muslims are genetically, culturally, historically and linguistically separate groups so a bridging is not realistic...

The problem is you won't be praying the way Muhammad(saw) prayed, so if you're not doing it the way he showed us, then you're not following the Islamic way of prayer.. If you're Muslim, it's not simply about praying, but doing it the correct way.Even the word "Muslim" is an Arabic word, so if you have an inferiority complex about using Arabic, then why even call oneself Muslim? It's only Arab-centric if you use Arabic to replace other people's cultures and languages. If you know both Arabic and your native language, then there's no Arab-centrism.

Also, Moist Muslims because they don't understand Arabic fall prey to Misguided Scholars because they have no way of checking their statements. If People understand Arabic they can hold scholars accountable for the things they claim and state. It Also improves your spirituality because you begin understanding what you're saying when you pray. But Outside of religious matters, It's a Historical Language by Non-Arab and Arab Scientists, so we can reinvigorate scientific development in the Muslim world. It will allow us to mutually communicate with each other from a Neutral and Unbiased platform, since Arabic is the language of Qur'an there won't be any ethnocentric biases. It will relieve us from depending on the West, so many good reasons to switch to Arabic. But as we said before Farsi could work because it's easier to learn.

                .

Not at all because Arabs don't have any economic or political hegemony in the modern age, Where as Europeans and Americans have hegemony.
Also if you say Muslims have nothing in common, you should come travel with me, I'll show you exactly how much we have in common.

Of course we have our differences too, but many of our foods, our traditions, customs are the same the world over.

I've visited Egypt, Yemen, Jordan, Turkey, Afghanistan and I found many overlap between these countries. India, Bangladesh and Pakistan are pretty different though.

The Levant and Egyptians spoke Semitic Languages which were closely related to Arabic, even prior to Islam. Assyrian, Aramaic etc etc. are not too far from Arabic as far as linguistic structure. So it doesn't seem force was needed, but natural transition between Semitic languages. There was certainly no policy to force Arabic from historical record. So this "Arab Imperialism" nonsense is a Historical Fallacy, the Ummayads may have attempted Arab Imperialism, but they failed, so there is no defacto examples.

And actually Berber is still spoken in Algeria,. Tunisia and Morocco; so if there was Arab Imperialism to swat out native cultures, There would be no Berber speakers today. In fact I know Berber speakers.

You cannot have "Imperialism" without several important factors, One is exploitation of resources, second is subjugating the Native cultures to adopt the foreign culture, three treat natives as subordinates. Since Arabic began in Yemen, we don't see Yemenis treating Lebanese as Subordinates or exploiting the resources of Lebanon or vice versa. The precedence of Arab Imperialism is not found.

You're not Opposing English being used and accepted English in South Asia, but we have a historical precedent of Anglo-Imperialism.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

Media Propaganda and actually while I agree many Indians are doctors and scientists .....they're actually not popularly depicted as such. Rather the media depicts South Asians like this.

media is not a reliable source to learn about a culture.

                          1.

Because Islam according to its own principles is not about worshipping Muhammad and/or follow the Arab way of life. No, islam according to its own principles is about submitting to a singular all powerful deity. This can be done very comfortably without any knowledge of Arabic and/or following the Arabic way of life.

For this reason we need Quran translated into any language like the Bible. Learning Arabic is waste of time when the easier option is to translate it so the masses can understand what is being preached in their own native languages.

Having read the Bible, the Quran and the Bible preach pretty much the same things...so I do not see why not. Islam is pretty much Christianity 2.0 (or Judaism 3.0) = all preach the same thing so there is nothing eeally unique or originall about Islam...

                          2.

Well its ironic then how all terrorist organizations consists almost entirely people of Arab descent, or Arabic native tongue....understanding Arabic has clearly not persuaded Isis militants in Iraq from butchering and decapitating their own country men....you are telling me Iraqis and Syrians who makes up isis dont understand Arabic either?

For us Afghans and Indian Muslims the way forward will be to distance ourselves from Arabism as possible...we need to modify Islam so it suits us in this day and age and make it our own, even go as far as erase and re-write/re-interpret some parts (Sharia law, for example stoning a women to death for adultry or cutting man's arm for stealing a bag of peanuts, thats backward, barbaric and sub human, it has no place in todays world)

Lastly current Islam stands in the way of scientific advancement just like pre-reformation Christianity did in medieval Europe (scientists were killed if they discovered the earth was not center of the universe, today this is a fact)...i have met a lot muslims for example who deny that apes and humans have common ancestor which is prettty much true from a scientific pov regardless of wether the quran approves it or not. (Islam educates about incestual root of humans from Adam and Eve).

So Islam in its cureent form may prevent us from progressing since it forces us to find our answers in an 1400 year old book instead of seeking new knowledge and understanding the world from a scientific (observable and proofable) point of view which may contradict the teachings of the Islamic book.

Worshipping Muhammad would mean calling Muhammad(saw) God. We're supposed to follow His example though as he taught us the proper way to worship and obey God. It's even in the Qur'an to follow his example.

For this reason we need Quran translated into any language like the Bible. Learning Arabic is waste of time when the easier option is to translate it so the masses can understand what is being preached in their own native languages.
                            Translations only give you a superficial understanding; To get a full breadth of the Understanding you have to understand the original language. If all you needed was a translation; then Scholars in Secular Universities would rely on Translations to study the Qur'an, but they rely on Arabic to study the nature and structure of the Qur'an. So learning Arabic is crucial;

Only someone with an inferiority complex would think learning Arabic would mean forgetting your own language.

It's not ironic, it's simply not factual. There are Chechens, Somalis and yes even Afghans in ISIS. If anything what you have shown is that understanding Arabic is even more crucial since the Learned Islamic Scholars condemn ISIS,, learning Arabic would help in calling out ISIS for misrepresenting Islam.

Arabism is the idea that Arabs are dominant; If you keep your own language and learn Arabic this issue is not present. Afghans have made Islam their own for centuries and it suits them fine.

Only people with inferiority complex feel threatened by Islam the way it is.

(Sharia law, for example stoning a women to death for adultry or cutting man's arm for stealing a bag of peanuts, thats backward, barbaric and sub human, it has no place in todays world)
This is just parroting the same Western Narrative that is sued by people ignorant of Islam or how it is applied. Both Wahhabis and Islamophobes. I recommend you study the Islamic Scholarly references in detail and then you understand how Islam is meant to be applied. I will say you can't simply cut off a person's arm for stealing peanuts. LOL

Lastly current Islam stands in the way of scientific advancement
I have a feeling you weren't raised in an Islamic Household; that's fine. This is incorrect. Islam encourages scientific inquiry.

Yes and there were Muslims in the "Golden Age" of Islam that argued that Qur'an is being metaphoric about human creation and they proposed Evolution before Westerners did.

Wrong, it's people's lack of knowledge about Islam that is preventing progress. I have a feeling you're not actually from a Muslim family or have any connection to Afghanistan since you use the insulting term "Pathan" and you seem to base your knowledge on Islam from outside sources.

That does not invalidate my point: many Indians suffer from inferiority complex. You are a good example of it. After centuries of serving foreigners and because of your caste system you guys got some serious problems. You love to serve.

Muslims have nothing in common except a religion spread to the shores of their ancestors mainly by armies and conquistadors. Muslims are genetically, culturally, historically and linguistically separate groups so a bridging is not realistic...

Islam is not strong enough argument since its only a religion/faith...someone can pray to God in any language and I am sure the argument is fair that as almighty as God is he willl understand nonetheless. LolMost non arab muslims (by this I mean close to 99%, basically the avarage non arab muslim) dont speak nor understand significant amount Arabic but they may pray to god nonetheless. This is the proof that Islam can be practised without knowlede of Arabic language and without Arabocentrism part of Islam.
We are different but still we should push for more unity. Europeans are also diverse but they have managed to create some sort of unity. So we should do: create an union a la European Union for the Islamic world.
