Motivation; young upstarts, full of bravado, they probably heard something on the grapevine and vented it out in 'high spirits', riding on wave of fast cash. Of course I hadnt heard the news and posted it here to hear comments, as soon as i landed in dubai.

I always found it funny, not once in my life, not once has someone asked me here in New York where I am from. it's always either you are a Bostonian, New Yorker, Torontonian, etc.

You can't compare Canada or the US to Afghanistan.....
Not only are those countries rich and stabele and developed they bothe have ONE dominant culture. You don't have in Canadan and in US schools where they give students lectures in Spanish or other languages. No, everything is in english. And even in Canada the small French minority wanted once to get independent from the rest of the country. But they failed and I bet if they get the chance to seperate themself they will do it.

I don't mind difrent ethnicities in one country, but the so called "multiculturism" doesn't work. Look at Afghanistan where you feel the tension between the difrent ethnicities, becuase of there difrent culture and language.
The bigest mistake of our rulers was, that they didn't implement Pashto as the only language in Afghanistan. Even countries like Iran where you have difrent ethnicities you have only 1 state language and one dominant culture, and in India you have more that thousand languages but still they only use Hindi and English and despite many difrent religions ( Hinduism, Budhism, Islam, even some small Christians groups) there is one dominant culture.

You can say that some of Pashtun culture Tajiks tooke over, but still they are difrent in many ways. And it would be much easier if the goverment of Afghanistan made everything in Pashtu and Dari can be made to a second language that can be taught in schools like English in mainland Europe.

thats the wrong lesson to learn from the last 200 years

the problem is they didnt create a narrative and identity that embraced our multi lingual and multi ethnic identity

the narrative was that of a Pashtun state that spoke Dari, no one won. it only left us all confused, especially when the Pashtunistan issue is brought in

the only narrative that works is to embrace our land as Ariana, a land of 5000 yr old history, vanguard of Islam, inheritor to the ancient Persian empire and the empires of central asia, and the last independent bastion of Islam in the Asian subcontinent, and the fatherland of all Pashtuns and the hearland of Farsi, and the only place where Pashtuns/Farswans/Turks were able to maintain their independence while their ethnic brothers were subdued

had we spent 70 years promoting this narrative, we would be in a better place

^The 70 years this narrative was promoted, and what we got is Tajiks feeling supirior to Pashtuns claiming that Pashtu is backward and the reason that Farsi survived is becuase its a supirior language and farsiban have a higher culture than Pashtuns.

Many western countries are welcoming to other cultures, but they still matain theres as the dominant one, becuase they know you must have one dominant culture to hold everything toghether.

Dear Khostai, no "-ism" does work, it is a peoples issue. I do not know how it was in Afghanistan 2000 years ago but in my region neighbours defended their lands together, later however everything changed...

For me a nation stands higher than any state, at least a nation is something real made of relative people while a state is a machine far away from people, may it be monarchy, democracy, communism or whatever. If Pashtuns care for eachother problems behind the Durrand line, it is normal that every nation does. As long as it remains in a sane way it is even important. That something doesn't work for pride and ignorance doesn't mean that it cannot be changed. If the cruel europeans got ther EU, why your people cannot live respecting their cultures side by side in a natural way? Iran isn't perhaps the best example, infact the way Iran implemented their politics can be a future problem, a lot of hidden separatism exists and waits for some hidden mentor from the west(I would like that it wouldnt be like that, as I wish from deep heart peace to my neighbours in the south).

The US and Europe even do not promote a real culture, but yes it may be a bomb. Not now but in future. You may laugh at me, but what was hidden in the easy times comes out much later.

                    And how about India???
And still Iran is in much better state than Afghanistan ever was. And after time the difrences fade away more and more, and peopel intermarry, that makes it even more dificult for the future generations to rebel when they temself are integrated to the main dominant culture.

I don't think so I live in Europe and see how the new generation of foreigners are totaly westernised, I always hear from my friends when they come from vacation form there home countries like Turkey, Moroco or Tunesie, they say that its hard for them and they miss Belgium after 3 weeks, becuase the habits and culture there they don't like, and also many Afghans are also really happy when they come back from Afghanistan after a visit, they always say its fun to visit it but not to live there for the rest of there live.....

Honestly, things were not like this back then. All ethnicities got along fine with eachother. It was until the soviet war when everything changed, every other ethnic group wanted their own people to join eachother and defeat the Russians, they wanted to take the glory for themselves and they forgot unity. Anyways I still blame Ahmad shah massoud and his northen alliance for these tensions that have arisen.

dear Tjanaparh i dont want to engage with you in a discussion regarding Pashtuns.
but i will tell you that your outlook isnt that of us as we see al muslims as brethern and not as you would put it "united under race or nationlism"

lets not pretend that the northern's call for for federalism is any different than what the tribal-gov't relationship has been in the past. independence from the central government and to be able to manage their own affairs. you can't be for the de facto tribal partition from the central gov't while being against minority wishes for the same.

that said, these northerners don't want to be directly controlled by a pashtun government which is understandable but there has never been any call for partition from afghanistan. people like to create drama for no reason, its silly and contributes to ethnic conflict.

though i am against any federalism whatsoever be it from pashtun tribes or minorities.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

Your character is well establisihed and so is mine, neither needs reminding.

Its a small skill to extract meaning of a report posted on this forum. However extrapolating information and making assumptions that lack support, and labelling beghairat means ignorance, which you have exemplified, along with contempt or disrespect that you have claimed, implied by the deleted responses.

DZJ the word I use was chutzpah, Yiddish word rooted in Hebrew and German, to show the mood of the hosts. It means audacity. They indeed had the audacity to say words that could not be uttered due to what happened to the last usurper of their ilk, Habib Kalakani. The guys used very slippery words, disguised in synonyms of progress and growth in Balkh under Atta Saeb, and their general support of their Herati Sheikh Ismail, and further assuagement to accommodate the former rival - the general dostam saeb, and the pivotal words 'end of pashtun hegemony'.

Now as you posed DZJ, what did I do? well, I listened, let them finish what they had to say, and replied, as their guest, in their home, of what happened to Kalakani, the demographics of Afghanistan, the transient nature of power, the long memories and wrath of pashtuns, and the fall of mazar, (Atta's home), and the de facto continued presence of America, and hence all this bravado. At this point the eldest mashar declared takbeer, 'la ila ha il Allah, Mohamad ar rasul Allah' and that we are all bani adam, all sons of adam, signalling a halt.

Of course Ma'am, you were not present in the majlas, obvious reasons, and you did not know this detail, and responded to things that possess you, rather that what i reported in a public forum to raise a discussion. What you have done is nothing short of character assassination - i speculate a trait that possesses you.

                                Now luri, chupsha, bas.

Back to original discussion, has anyone heard of this supposed alliance of dostum, fahim, ismail and atta?
i am sure that you were around when i posted my original respons to your reply this morning. you had no reaction to it until i changed the nature of it to get even with the person who was constantly deleting my posts that had nothing offensive in them.
that you chose to ignore replying to those but have managed to jump in so quickly and defend your "character" in this one, we will not speak of. as for everyone's knowledge of my character traits, not only you but no one from this forum will ever manage to get anywhere near to it.
i will tell you the jokes, all you have to do is laugh. if you don't, i will be highly offended. so far as i see, we all have our roles right.
                                good night
