    "following bin laden"
the first one he made was, 'behind enemy lines"
    you mean this:

        • 'following bin laden' is the doco i saw, where the al-qaeda guy was an afghan. the taliban were going to this guy to help them make decisions.
          pity you never saw it.
can't find a link to the actual video though.
same guy made it, a year after that documentary.^

BTW, i realise that this is one of those backhanded compliments

I cant find it. there is a cnn documentary called in the footsteps of bin laden. but not one by najibullah qureshi who is the journalist you are reffering to.

              • i think he went to afghanistan to see if he could find how many al-qaeda were still around and he goes on this amazing journey through the mountains and stays with the taliban. there was an old guy there and he had fought against the russians but i am pretty sure they said he is an afghan but was also al-qaeda. the taliban were coming to him for advice or decision making. at the end, the taliban guys supposedly shoot a man they had captured but they don't show him being killed, so not sure if they really did. but the journalist got XTREMELY nervous and left, vowing never to return, lol. it would have been hugely scary if it was all for real as he was way up in an area that took days to get to.
no, i can't find a connection for that documentary.
it was a '4corners' program whereas the other doco was a 'frontline' program.

yes I have seen that one. The old guy claims to be an afghan but a descendent of arabs. Let me tell you something about the middle east. Many people claim to be descendents of the prophet Mohammad(pbuh) so they can be seen as influential or thier authority seen as something special. the vast majority of those claims are bogus. I even have cousins who also claim such non sense. They call them "syeds".
My iraqi friend told me that when they ask for a girls hand in marriage and the family refuses, the rejected guy usually goes with a supposed "syed" and the family cant refuse a "syed" request. and he told me that the "syed" asks for money for the service.

remember when they used commentaries to prove that Iraq had WMD's. lol

but, you never know, that old man in the doco may be what he said.

                          LOL well first of all

                          a.) prove it's a commentary

                          then secondly

b.) prove that commentaries cannot ever be evidence

Your and Khushal's claim is a confirmation bias.

how does that refute these as evidence though?

I have doubts about the mans claim but the docu is pretty good. Qureshi is a good journalist.
