If America really wanted to shut Pakistan down it could

America, gains from conflict in Afghanistan and Pakistan

Pakistan as a nation doesnt gain, but its corrupted elite are bought off

Do not think for a second the Americans could not destroy Afghanistan if it wanted to

I wouldnt be surprised if Uncle Sam shook hands and laughed behind the scenes with NA chiefs and Paki generals
    too much conspiracy

The objective of the war in Vietnam and Iraq was to extract the resources of those countries and the region. Likewise the objective in Afghanistan was to extract the resources of Afghanistan and the region.

However, it didnt turn out like that.

The US is in over 14 trillion dollars in debt and growing. They spend billions a day in Afghanistan.

The EU has collapsed for all practical purposes. Greece has been hit hard the most, and thats where many of the defense companies are.

Truth is China is the emergent superpower. China took down a US spy plane many years ago and imprisoned the crew for weeks.

Havent yet heard if that happened the other way around yet??

Fact: US/NATO has not attacked a nation that has missile technology and an air defense.

Russia never gave Serbia modern air defense at the time of the NATO war there.

    The West is finished

I agree with this perception. I have known from informed sources that neither US/NATO nor Pakistan wants to do away the FATA status or are serious in dealing with the Taleban militancy decisively because both have their ulterior motives; US/NATO needs an excuse to maintain basis in Central-South Asia and Pakistan needs insurgency to grab foreign aid and retain foothold in Afg----The insurgency also enables Paki establishment and the allied extremist groups to retain their stranglehold over political direction of Pak.

Meanwhile the mindless zombies are on a destructive spree eliminating whatever shred of civility is left.

^^ the conspiracy really is for tin foil hat wearers.

The US economy is finished. Nothing is great about being the largest economy when there is a recession. The wars in Afghanistan and Iraq is the reason the US and Western economies are in shambles, probably never to recover.

Its about growth. The Western economies are all crumbling to pieces and will never rise up due to the fact that Oil nations are moving away from the toxic dollar and either trading in their own currency or gold.

        The EU is splitting up

Contrary to all this allusion of the all powerful NATO alliance, they have not lived up to what is being claimed. They have not gone to war with a nation that posses modern missile range technology or air defense.

Evidence for this is the fact that they only go to war with perceived weak countries. Iraq war 2003 was done because Iraq did not possess any air defense and long-range/short range missile capability. Same reasons for Afghanistan and Libya war.

Syria has the S-300 anti-aircraft system in place all over the country. This is why there is no NATO "intervention" yet.

North Korea was not attacked because they have air defense as well as long range and short range missile capability. In the event of a NATO war on N. Korea, Korea would respond in kind with their missile capability which reportedly has over 7000 Km range.

Iran also has long range/short range missile capability and air defense (they brought down a stealth drone that was supposedly so high that it was supposed to be undetected). Iran's truck missile launchers come from China.

Pakistan has long range and short range missile capability. They also have a joint fighter jet made by China. Pakistan's truck missile launchers come from China .

In the last 2 decades, nations that dont have missile technology (for deterrence) or air defense have been subject to bullying by other nations. This is a historical fact backed by evidence. Had Afghanistan, Libya, Iraq had some semblance of deterrence like North Korea, Iran, and Pakistan, then these wars would not have happened in my opinion.
Good points especially the one of misiles.

Serbia also had Russian madel air defence system but hopeless against NATO except for one plane they brought down.

The new US fighters such as F-35 can take out s-300 easily. Iran doesn't have s-300 yet and Russians have denied selling s-300 to Iran.

No military in the world can stand up to American and NATO technology, not even China or Russia. Sure they can bring a few planes down but a NATO victory is a sure thing.

NATO also has anti ballistic misslile systems in place in Turkey and many parts of southern europe so Iran has no chance of reaching Europe. Most they can do is probably hit some gulf countries like kuwait and Qatar. Isreal also has the Patriot missile shield, which will destroy any useless Iranian missiles.

The real hard part will be once Iran is invaded, the gorrilla tactics work far better than fighting conventional battles against NATO.
They have best jets and what not. But their soldiers are baseborn cowards trained on playing fighting video games. If you watch those videos made by talibans in which they attack americans conveys, you would be surprised that how many of them are killed attack and they run away like cowards.

^^ Its a pattern that has not been broken yet. In other words, the only nations that have been attacked in the last 2 decades have been those that did not possess long range/short range missile technology.

I do think a NATO war with Pakistan or Iran is a possibility.

If US/NATO goes to war with Iran this summer (being predicted) it will result in a regional war within the Middle East. Iran has a strategic range that encompasses all of the Middle East and Central Asia/South Asia as well as all of Europe.

It does not differ india or pakistani army, they are both unable to fight a war against groups like the TTP or could have even a chance to hold ground against the Islamic emirate for a week,i guess they will overrun india.

But it shed a light upon the security forces of india, they, their strenght.

Times have changed my friend. Its not possible even though India is not anywhere close to USA in power, but TTP or Islamic emirate could not overrun India.

It reminds me of a program I saw a while back on a religious channel in UK. The Pakistani guy (a very religious man) said to the audience "...there was a time when a couple of thousand Afghans could get on their horses, ride off to some remote district in places like Bihar and start ruling there. Could they do that today?" He did not need to give the answer.

The Taj Mahal hotel has over 500 rooms and is like a labyrinth. It was necessary to take care and take time to minimise civilian casualties and prevent the hotel being burned down as it has a lot of timber.

Yes it took longer than desirable at that hotel. That might have been deliberate to focus attention on it as a terror event...The other locations were dealt with fairly quickly.
