That is not possible. Pashtuns self are a minority among other minorities and majority of the people speak non-Pashto and belong to non-Pashtun culture. Pashtunization failed in the past and it will in future. There are already voices that Karzai and his ministers are planning to Pashtunize again the government. However, they will fail because people will demand for their rights and warlords will send their militias. Afghanistan works like this ^^

We don't have to forbid other languages we must make Pashtu number one and the rest as secondary. Now it cost really a lot of money to make the same books in to difrent languages it would be much easier if we had one and also cheaper.
And punjabization of pashtuns in Pakistan is totaly difrent thing, we are majority in Afghanistan and its our right to promote our language and culture, in Pakistan that is not the case, and by the way the majority of Pashtuins in Pakistan are punjabized or became wahabist only tiny minority have kept Pashtun culture.....
Pashto is spoken by 35% of the population. More than 60% speak Farsi/Dari and 20% of Pashtuns in addition use it in their daily life. I don´t think that Pashto has the strenght and the history to prove itself in Afghanistan. The same policy were made in the past and is again done by Rahim Wardak some weeks ago but the policy always failed. It´s just a question of time when this regime will fall apart and fascists and nationalists from all corners will be hanged. Take care that your children don´t become Darizuban :D

Languages should be regional problems. Every region should have to implantad the language of the majority. Why should we speak in Logar or Laghman Dari or Pashto while our own language dies slowly? The key to a better future for Afghanistan is equality between all cultures, languages and races. Maybe Afghans should promote the beauty in diversity of Afghanistan and respect them all instead of a forced or fake identity. And the government should make sure that everyone get a part from the cake in Kabul. Maybe tomorrow the capital is in Kandahar or maybe Herat or in Jalalabad.

We don't have to forbid talking is Dari or other languages but we must make Pashto as the official and the most important language, I am really happy that in Khost Kandahar and Jalalabad univercities everything is taught in Pashtu, they also made Pashto lessons available in Herat and Kabul univercities.
And I think if a non pashtun tries to talk whith you in Dari you schould always respong in PAshtu if they still don't talk in Pashtu then speak English or nothing at all.
That's what I always do, I never speak this imposed Imigrants Language, and every pashtun who does it is a beghairat ghulam.
        KHostai,
If you really want to serve Pashto, literature is the key. You must look at the roots of why persian is so far ahead in the region and why English is so far ahead in the world. The English have bombarded the world with English literature. If one wants to learn and read about anything usefull, they can find it in English, they can find it in Persian but they can not find it in Pashto. Almost all literate Pashtuns know another language better than they know their own language not because they hate their own language but because of "majoboryat," they have no other option. There is harldy any pashto literature for them to study poetry, philisophy, mathematics, science, medicine, finance, etc.
We as pashtuns must work hard to translate books into pashto and distribute these books.

Not speaking farsi with farsiwans is not how you are going to accomplish your goals. Tajiks, Uzbeks are persianized Turks, Farsi is not their original language(same with Hazaras who are persianized mongols) but they have adopted it because farsi is rich in literature.

With the internet one can create a website in pashto script that has books translated from other languages to pashto, one can make videos in pashto that teach math and science and use the internet to distribute them. Make sure you market the website to the right market which will be in pashtunland.

If Afghan goverment gona be pashtunaized it would not fail, becuase nobody gona forbid other languages, your NA phedophile years are over, now the US is moving and the warlords the dogs will only bark, they only care about money, culture language is not there priorty.

And the 30 years of war was not due to pashtunazation, can you show me where pashtuns forced there culture and language on to others, don't make things up....

Yes that is what I meant by promoting and spreading Pashtu langauge.
It's not for me to forbid a language, but I would never speak dari/farsi whith farsiwans, becuase they are racist and fascist peopel, speaking there language gives them the false superiority feeling that they have...
I don't know how many farsiwan you know, but I have met enough of them to know that the majority of them hate everything that is not persian. They look down on everything and calls them self arian and us the immigrant jews, can you belive that? they call Pashtuns immigrants when the whole nation is formed by pashtun king...

Pashtuns can only Pashtunize people who are culturally and linguistical not superiour to them. In that case it were Turks and Mongols like Ghilzais or Sindhis and Jats. I would forget that kind of policy.

                Pashto was not forced? http://books.google.de/books?id=fdTJ...chools&f=false

Pashto never have achived to be anything like Dari or Uzbeki in AFghanistan because it can not be compared with these languages. Even Pashtuns can not speak it correctly. Even the ''Afghan'' kings did not speak Pashto. But Afg has non-Pashtuns like Jawid Sharif, Ehsan Aman, Taher SHubab who sings in Pashto. Non-Pashtuns promote more Pashto than Pashtuns do.

I can post you more references about Afghanistan´s past Pashtunization policies.

The uzbaki language was spoken by those soldiers who kicked you out of AFghanistan You call non-Pashtuns as fascists but you do not categorize yourself in that box? Unfortunately, according to UN languages list some languages are going to die out and Pashto was mentioned among them in 2008. In the next 100 years maybe a small number of Pashto-speakers will remain.

Most of the Afghans where I live are Kabuli, not too many pashtuns. Some of the Kubalis claim pashtun ancestory but speak no pashto. But most of the farsiwan that I know are descent and hospitible people.

But in my opinion, we pashtuns have not been fair to them as far as implementing policies of forced pashtunization of people starting with abdur rahman so that is why they have reacted so negatively against pashtun leaderships. Sure we need to protect our language but forcing is counter to protecting our language. We need to take more creative steps.

Yes they are nice when they are in front of you, but behind your back they only spread filt about you. I was naive like you, thinking that they are descent peopel but they are not, you just wait and one day if you gona visit North Afghanistan or once you will be somewhere where farsiwans are the mojority you will see there descency....

We moved because of bussiness. Your Taliban were kicked out, too by ''my beloved Massoud'' when he was already dead lol and now his children and men have taken the duty, despite the fact I am neither Pansheri nor Farsiwan or a Pashtun. Back to topicsThe thing is more Pashtuns speak more and more Panjabi, Urdu or Dari or even Iranian and listen to Iranian movies, songs and series. Forget those who live in the West who are already ''non-Pashtuns''. If pakistan rules Kabul or any part of Afghanistan the day will come when Panjabization will start. They already entered eastern Pashtun lands.

Thats doubtful, Pashto is making a huge comeback in KP. Pashto has already been standardized up to the 5th grade and soon will be standardized in highschool. Pakistani leaders had to make compromises with pashtuns because they were and still are risking a civil war with pashtuns. The policies that pakistan has been implementing have backfired on them that is why I would ask the Afghan government of not taking steps similar to them agaisnt the farsiwans in Afghanistan.

Pashto is now being taught in Universities in the US. So its making more of a comeback vs. dieing out. The US has now realized that they can not accomplish anything in Afghansitan without cooperation of pashtuns that is why they are now doing what they should have done at the beginning and that is negotiate vs arrogance, and the NA warlords are losing influence who has done a disservice to their own people not to mention the whole nation.
