Farsi and Pashto are Arabized but I know that the literal Farsi is much pure and maybe some 30% are Arabic, so is Pashto, while beeing itself influenced by Farsi, Turki, Moghol, Arabic and other languages, too. You can not compare the daily slang of Kabul with the real educated Farsi level. Majority of people are still uneducated. As I mentioned, Pashto itself is full of Farsi words, maybe 70%.

I think the Farsi word for thank you would be ''sepas''. You can not fool people here, even if I am not a Farsiwan. You can not live without Farsi. That Pashto has a level in Afghanistan that can be considered is because of Farsi. Even this word sepas is adoptet by Pashto from Farsi. Stop trolling. You can´t even speak your own language but want to tell others what their language is.. lolOriginally posted by khushal View PostNokia,
Those common words that pashtuns and farsiwan use are not farsi words, they are actaully arabic words. Farsi has been arabized, more than 50% of farsi in Iran and more than 35% of farsi in Afghanistan use arabic words and arab root words. You cant even say "thank you" in farsi without using arabic.

That´s not true? There are hundred of Pashto dictionaries on the net you can download. Nearly every 3rd word is Arabic or Turkic or Hindi, every second word is either Farsi or Pashtunized Farsi words. Accept that fact. Even we have a lot of Farsi words. Panjabi, Urdu, Turkish and other languages, including Arabic. Some arabic words are even of Persian origin like din, or maghs ...Originally posted by shadowgovernerthat is so not true.
dari uses pashto and arabic words adn pashto uses dari and arabic word.
but to claim that 70% of pashto is from dari/farsi you are out of your mind.
just like you claimed that your relatives live next to javed sharif.
Since you do not know my relatives who are living two houses away from Jawid Sharif, I will not comment on your stupid assumptation. You should also ask yourself which culture and language Sharif represents, your, mine or that of Farsiwans? As I mentioned earlier, non-Pashtuns do more for Pashto than Pashtuns. Actually it´s unfair.

tashakor is arabic and is used only by those with lesser education. it´s the daily language of kabul or mazar while elsewhere you will listen sepas. elsewhere people use their own language. Even Pashto has adoptet that word.Originally posted by shadowgovernerall the parsiwaans i hear say tashakor, what the hell are you smoking?
"even if im not a farsiwaan"
Byki is no longer available for language learning. Still want to learn? Check out the 110+ languages in Transparent Language Online.
Just look for the word in a dictionary. There are many Dari equivalences for Arab words.
Ps: mamnoon is the other Farsi word for thank you. You have adoptet this word, too in Pashto. 70% or even more are of Farsi origin.. that´s it look like

I never heard of this word before but farsiwan in Iran usually use french words, they use "merci" for thank you and farsiwan in Afgahnistan use "ta-shakur" which has arabic roots in it. I have never heard of this word used by anyone and I am sitting nest to a farswan from Kabul and he has never heard of this word either.Originally posted by NokiaWnW View PostI think the Farsi word for thank you would be ''sepas''. Farsi come from Pashto? lol it´s like claiming an elefant comes from a mosquitoOriginally posted by shadowgoverneryou just make **** up as you go dont you?Pashtunised farsi words?
it may be true that the whoel farsi language comes from pashto.
Jawe sharif is pashtun and not knowing pashto doesnt change his ethnicity.
non pashtuns sing in their national language of pashti and that way they have more exposure and appreciation among Afghans than being fascists such as you.
just like many of so called parsiwaans are actually pashtuns who had lost their language.
i wont continue with a sutpid person such as you who is well known to be a big fat liar and a troll and a fascist.
you must be joking. Pashto does not have any history. Pashto did not exist for 1000years ago. How can Farsi come from Pashto when Farsi was recognized as languages of kings for more than 2500years ago? Pashto did not even exist before the Arab conquest. It were the Arabs, Turks, Mongols, Iranians, Indians, Jews and the indigene population that created your nation. There is not a single evidence that Pashto ever existed, except languages that are close to Pashto as a family language, but Farsi is also related with Pashto.
I don´t care what Jawid Sharif is because it´s not my cause. I just know he is related with Farsiwans and his mother-tongue is Farsi. The only concert I visited was a private audiance in Belgium and he sang there only in Farsi and had some Farsiwan singers and artists with him.
''Parsiwaaan Pashtuns''
There are no Farsi speaking Pashtuns you call as Farsiwans. Farsiwan itself is an ethnical designation. When they lose everything Pashtunic then they are no Pashtuns but they are no Farsiwans. They maybe can be called Tajek since they all have Tajek relatives and they can not run away from that part of assimilation, so what make them Pashtuns? Their ''blood''? What does blood mean if they understand themself as Farsiwan? The Ghilzai are Turks by blood but are today known as Pashtuns. The Khattaks were Hindus and are today Pashtuns. There are many more non-Pashtuns who lost their languages (specially in Pakistan). Language and culture form your identity. That´s why the number of Pashtuns decreases. Ask those ''Pathans'' in India who claim beeing Pathans what they are.
The national anthem case is a bit different. I have never seen anyone except the cricket team singing the national anthem and some political figures. But in secret majority of the people have their own anthems. You see, this is Afghanistan. We have also an own anthem in our own language but we have no political represants to declare it as our national (pashayeewar) anthem.

@ NOkia,
you said that jawid sharif mother is durani pashtun and now you claim that his mother tongue is farsi. Thats a contradiction.
farswan is not an ethnical disgnation. The hazaras dont claim to be the same ethnicity as tajiks or uzbeks and vise versa. I know many Kabulis that speak no pashto but regard themselves as pashtun. If you tell them they have lost their "pashtun-ness" they will not hesitate to break your mouth.Last edited by khushal; 03-19-2012, 01:55 PM.

Reply to the nationalist elements and regarding the Racists whol call for pashtunizing afghanistan while they themselves are not afghans
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Afghans have, throughout their history, lived in brotherhood and exhibited intense integrity, solidarity and unity as a single nation under the name Afghanistan. The people in Afghanistan, whether Pashtun, Tajik, Uzbek, Hazarah, Baluch or Nooistani, have always joined common causes in safeguarding their common interests, standing up for their rights and have jointly resisted every invading force to defend their country against the enemy and played a central role in independence, development and rehabilitation of Afghanistan. In view of the Russians’ withdrawal from Afghanistan, all the ethnic groups collectively lay down their lives for the freedom of our country and played a key role to present a united front in chasing the Russians away from Afghanistan. The US invasion of Afghanistan threatened the unity and integrity of the Afghans as a single nation, sowing the seeds of disunity among the Afghan masses that ended up turning one Afghan against another. Regrettably, the recent Fitnah (evil) created by the US, among a lot of misfortune, misery and evils, is the chaotic upheaval of (Kochi and Hazarah) between two ethnic groups.. Some of the country’s parts have been affected by this Fitnah ( Kochi and Hazarah) or US-created evil, if not stopped now, may rapidly spread across the country. However, the differences between two ethnic groups are not so profound that can not be settled. It is a commonly recognized fact that Afghanistan is under the clutches the Super Evil’s tyranny, the bottom line is, the Afghans should sow the seeds of integrity, solidarity and brotherhood to heal the rifts with each other in order to get the freedom of our beloved country which is destined to be free from the occupation of invading forces and get our home grown differences and disputes resolved in the light Islamic Sharia and Afghan tradition and values. One can find the exemplary list of cases settled during the period of the rule of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

they answer, "We are but improving things!"
2:12 Oh, verily, it is they, they who are spreading corruption but they perceive it not?

Why is that contradictiv? If he is half half than he is first ethnical a Tajek and Farsi his mother-tongue (native language), the language of the group he belongs to or rooted from, his first language.Originally posted by khushal View Post@ NOkia,

Hazara don´t call themself because they are not Farsiwans. If Farsiwans wouldn´t be an ethnical designation why they don´t call themself Farsiwans but only Tajeks? Pashtuns use the word for Tajeks. You are contradictive in your comments, brother. If you can not speak your language and do not live in your own culture you can not claim beeing something just because of your blood when in fact you are assimilated into a foreign culture. They maybe claim beeing Pashtuns but if it´s count beeing a Pashtun or not they will reject beeing a Pashtun. Beeing Pashtuns means do and speak Pashto. Just two generation later they will be Tajeks, Uzbeks, Panjabis or Americans, French, Indians. That there are some who call themself Pashtun tough not speaking and belonging to that culture and society you can only met in Kabul. But with the time even such things will change. In many parts of Afghanistan there is reported that people hide their real identity because of the dangers they would face.

I was also naive like you until I went to a dinner party in California and met a Farsi Literature professor that Taught at the University in Tehran. He told me that the Farsi in Iran is more than 50% arabic or arabic roots and that Farsi in Afghanistan is more pure. Even the Farsi in TAjikistan has been Russified and Afghanistan is the last farsiwan standing. You should thank the pashtuns for protecting you and protecting your language. If not for Abdur Rahmans plan to settle pashtuns in NOrthern Afghanistan to protect you from the Ruskies, you would today be speaking and singing in russian and having your women advertising themselves as mail order brides to the highest bidder.Originally posted by NokiaWnW View PostFarsi and Pashto are Arabized but I know that the literal Farsi is much pure and maybe some 30% are Arabic, so is Pashto, while beeing itself influenced by Farsi, Turki, Moghol, Arabic and other languages, too.
