Questions about Afghanistan and Pashtun affairs

Dear akbar khan there should be no further experiments of implementing sharia in afghanistan. We have already tasted its consequences, so no more tests. From the judgement of the nature of my people, i can surely say that pashtuns will always present taliban/wahabi type of sharia. Like osho said, religous pashtun is lethal and extremist. I am myself practicing muslim, but i wish the pashtuns to get rid of suffocated religous extremism.
Right now our all thinkings should be focused on rebuilding and reconstruction, not on chopping hands or stoning adulterers.

Akbar KhanaOriginally posted by akbarkhanWe should have a progressive Shariah government. Bacha Bazi is ripe and its spreading like wildfire specially in Takhar and other northern provinces. The policies that tackled these issues should be adopted.
Would you like to elaborate your conception of "Progressive Shariah govt" as I think they are antonyms.
You have germs of sense and sensibility , the repercussions of which you need to know. I am afraid the religeous people might not welcome these ideas.

It is not my conception. Shariah is intrinsically progressive, since some individuals are not familiar with the intrinsic properties of Shariah - one has to explicitly use the term 'progressive'. And for your information the 'religious people' knew/know things way before the dawn of 'civilization' reached the atheists i.e rules concerning prisoners of warOriginally posted by pir_Rokhan View PostAkbar Khana

For example, Shariah recognizes intellectual property rights/law although it is a fairly new concept/legislation.Last edited by akbarkhan; 06-01-2010, 01:56 PM.

We need to know more about your CLAIM or optmistic thinking about shariah. I personally think we should keep religion away from the affairs of the state. But if you honestly think that we should involve it grossly into the affairs of the state [bad luck for Afghanistan] then I respect your opinion.Originally posted by akbarkhan View PostIt is not my conception. Let us know what your concept of progressive Shariah [which you assume to be a universally accepted code by all muslims] says about, for example, the following :
1) Creation of Universe [evolution or creation ex nihilo]
2) Direction of History [cyclic or straight]
3) Nature of Life [Metabolic activity of body or physical manifestation of Soul]
4) Economic activity [ Fixed laws or Product of creativity and innovation]
5) Political system [Democracy or Theocracy]
6) Legal Status of Citizens of a state [ All citizens are equal legally or Muslims are citizens and non muslims are "Dhimmis" [Liability of state with no say in legislation]
7) Source of law [Parliament or "Quran and Sunnah"]
8) Judiciary [Source of law of PLD/conventions/precendents or "Quran and Sunnah"]
9) Executive [as a state organ or an organ for "Amr bil maroof wa nahi anil munkar"]
Would appreciate non diplomatic and non verbose reply so that we could reach some conclusion.Last edited by pir_Rokhan; 06-01-2010, 04:37 PM.

First and foremost please don't imply that I have 'my own concept', not even remotely! I understand loaded sentences so please drop it. Secondly, you claim to have knowledge of Islam and Shariah, if that be the case then you should already know my answers to these questions because I have already made my position clear with regards to Shariah, I sign up to Shariah in its entirety.Originally posted by pir_Rokhan View PostWe need to know more about your CLAIM or optmistic thinking about shariah. Graana Akbar Khan
I said your conception not to imply that you have innovated or invented Shariah but I meant that you would have some interpretation in mind which would have convinced you to give you the confidence to present it as a solution to the world. I respect your approach so I expect honest opinions from you.
I would again request you to throw light upon the questions I have raised. I am dead sure that these are the basic questions which you are gona face anywhere if you talk about Islam as a "system".

Salam Alaikom,Originally posted by WaziristanAkbara How can my Afghan brothers in Afghanistan live side by side with ethnic groups that do not like them. Don't you think we need Pashtunistan?
I have already answered this question. But am more than happy to answer it for a Waziri brother :-)
Shariah will get rid of ethnic tensions, tensions that have been instigated by our adversaries. If we fail to establish a caliphate (Allah forbid) then we must strive for Loy Afghanistan. A Loy Afghanistan that treats all Afghans equally, great attention should be give to Prophet Mohammad pbuh's last sermon.

These are the same questions that Cheryl Benard would ask in order to categorize an individual.Originally posted by akbarkhan View PostFirst and foremost please don't imply that I have 'my own concept', not even remotely! 1. Creation
2. Human history on earth is linear cyclic.
3. Life is a biological & spiritual process.
4. I don't understand the question, assuming that your question is as I percieve it then the only restriction with regards to financial transactions is usury.
5. Sharia as political and judicial system.
6. Non-muslims should pay the Jizya but they will have restricted freedom for practicing their religion. We will ensure their holy sanctuaries are protected and should a Muslim do them injustice the Muslim will be brought to justice without reservations.
7. Quran, Sunnah, consensus of scholars and rational analogy.
8. Quran and the Sunnah.
9. I don't understand the question.

1. Creation has no scientific proof backing it till now.Nothing can be created out of nothing.
2. Direction of history is either linear or cycle not both and it does not depend upon the planet.
3. Biological is fine.Spiritual has to be defined. It is ambiguous and vague term.
4. I meant that what will be the means of production ,means of transaction for economic activity and the laws which govern these economic activities in Shariah.
5. I meant what is the political system of Shariah?
6. You mean non muslims will have Dhimmi status which means a second rate citizen having no say in the legislation in an Islamic system and restricted civil and human rights.
7. The four sources of law has no space for any new legislation for the innovation of technology and does not have any room for non muslim participation in mulsim parliament. All sects have their interpretation of sources of law that is quran and Sunnah. Which one will be considered? The one you have metioned is that of Hanafi school majorly.
8. The interpreation of Quran and Sunnah is different by different sects. Which interpretation will be the considered as law on which judicial decisions will be based.
9. I meant whether you will use the modern concept of executive which is in practice in developed countries or you will have a force like the one in Saudi Arabia or was in practice in Taliban regime wherein they enforce orders based on the authority of their interpretation instead of institutionalised procedures.
I hope you realise that state is not run by the strength of one's faith but by making use of statecraft skills which include the solution to the socio-politico-economic soltion to the contemporary problems with a succinst eye on the zetgeist of the age.Last edited by pir_Rokhan; 06-02-2010, 01:04 AM.

Roara jan, you ever wondered why in Waziristan we call Afghans as Mujahirs? Its because hardly anybody reconises the word Afghan as Pashtun. You are right, if we make a state soley for Pashtuns, then we dont need suffer under foregierns hands and rule.
Iam up for a land soley for Pashtuns, Afghan is too mixed with others, and no longer a Pashtun name nor state.

Evolution has no proof either that is why its called a 'theory'. Furthermore, the theory of evolution can only be applied at phenotype level and not genotype which is why its stupid. Allah swt says that the universe was nothing more than hot gas i.e nebula and that with a sudden bang He formed all the cosmic bodies and the laws governing them, recent scientific discoveries confirms both. Infact, if you read a book titled The Privileged Planet by Guillermo Gonzalez and Jay W. Richards you will see how well they have refuted the theory of evolution. They go on to state that planet is created like an observatory, pointing out all tiny details about it and the cosmic bodies. They explain how all these little details add up and how they can not be out of sheer chance - they state that everything points out that there is perhaps a God but at the moment they like to refer to it as Grand Design.Originally posted by pir_Rokhan View Post1. I believe in Allah swt for many reasons but the most prominent of them is His promise that Quran is protected and none can change it not even a single word of it, and surely that has been the case for 1400 years.
Allah swt poses a very simple challenge, prove Him wrong and the Islamic faith will collapse overnight - no need for wars - no need for propaganda etc.
So here is the challenge:
Indeed, it is We who sent down the Qur'an and indeed, We will be its guardian.
Falsehood cannot approach it from before it or from behind it; [it is] a revelation from a [Lord who is] Wise and Praiseworthy.
If all the humans and all the jinns bonded together in order to produce a Quran like this, they could never produce anything like it, no matter how much assistance they lent one another.
And if you are in doubt as to which We have revealed to Our servant, then produce a sura like it, and call on your helper, besides Allah, if you are truthful.
But if ye cannot - and of a surety ye cannot - then fear the Fire whose fuel is men and stones,- which is prepared for those who reject Faith.
Its linear because it had a start point and it has an end point, it is cyclic because societies go through the same cycle as their forefathers or counterparts - in that they commit sins, do unjustices and when the message of Allah swt reaches them some of them believe others rebel and the fate of all rebellion societies are the same hence its a cycle.Originally posted by pir_Rokhan View Post2. I can see why it could be ambiguous to an athiest, but it certainly isn't to a believer. It will no longer be vague if you understood intuition and natural disposition.Originally posted by pir_Rokhan View Post3. Biological is fine.Spiritual has to be defined. It is ambiguous and vague term.
Same means, same transactions but without usury.Originally posted by pir_Rokhan View Post4. I meant that what will be the means of production ,means of transaction for economic activity and the laws which govern these economic activities in Shariah.
Allah swt is the Sovereign and the Amir is His vicegerent. No human being has a Lord or patron other than Allah swt and everyone is subject to Shariah law.Originally posted by pir_Rokhan View Post5. I meant what is the political system of Shariah?Human rights are similar, civil rights are restricted. Why are their civil rights restricted? Because Allah swt has ordered that and the majority of the population voted for it by accepting Islam as their way of life.Originally posted by pir_Rokhan View Post6. You mean non muslims will have Dhimmi status which means a second rate citizen having no say in the legislation in an Islamic system and restricted civil and human rights.
That is incorrect, there is a space for new legislations that is why we have Qiyas and Ijma. I gave you an example of this in one of my previous replies. Intellectual property rights/law is fairly new but Islam recognizes it and there is legislation for it.Originally posted by pir_Rokhan View Post7. The world is heading towards Islamic renaissance, hence the way of the blessed generations will prevail.Originally posted by pir_Rokhan View Post8. Institutionalised procedures based on Quran and the Sunnah.Originally posted by pir_Rokhan View Post9. Islam unlike other religions encompasses all aspect of human life. The beauty of Islam is that:Originally posted by pir_Rokhan View PostI hope you realise that state is not run by the strength of one's faith but by making use of statecraft skills which include the solution to the socio-politico-economic soltion to the contemporary problems with a succinst eye on the zetgeist of the age.
1. It tells you what your problems are.
2. It explains the root causes of those problems.
3. It provides pragmatic and efficient solutions to those problems.
Like I mentioned earlier, history has cyclic properties hence the inner workings, attributes and issues of all civilizations are the same.Last edited by akbarkhan; 06-02-2010, 08:20 AM.

So what is your solution for ove3r a million Pashtuns living in Qunduz, Baghlan, Balkh, Badghis, Takhar and Herat? You want to create Pashtunistan and leave those territories for non-Pashtuns? What do you think will this bring about for us? We will be sperated from areas that are currently inhabited by Pashtuns.Originally posted by StrategistMaseed View PostRoara jan, you ever wondered why in Waziristan we call Afghans as Mujahirs? You should know that mass exodus of people like it happened in Pakistan after creation of Pakistan does not solve any problems. It only makes things worse.
Besides, a country founded on language and culture alone is no solution. Among Pashtuns there are Nuristanis, Shaari, HIndko, Brahwi, Sayyids and many other non-Pashtun people. Do you want ot impose your culture on them like Punjabis and Tajiks have imposed their cukture on us?

First of all, i oppose all forms of imperialism, including forcing people to accept pashtun culture etc, but if majority are pashtun, then who the hell are they to oppose us.Originally posted by Sangar View PostSo what is your solution for ove3r a million Pashtuns living in Qunduz, Baghlan, Balkh, Badghis, Takhar and Herat? Every ethicnity should have its own state and land. There is no such thing as sharing.
I am speaking of all Pashtun dominated areas joining with Pakhtunkhwa as one Pashtun state. Then what excuses do we have about us as Pashtuns being oppressed etc.
