Forgive me Girls-Are-Bad, but you are talking about tax payment in a society where your civil service is inept at tax-collection. Authority is corrupt, so it's not appropriate to single out Pashtoons for failing to contribute to state remittances. I take it much of the civil service come from the "civilised" Urdu-speaking community - why not hold them to account, rather than shifting the blame.

Cross cultural co-existence can occur, but invariably there are struggles for power. So far, Urdu-speakers are deeply embedded in the power structures of Karachi. You are being "failed" by those in authority much more than the Pashtoons on the street.

A deeper prejudice resonates here and it is that of urban Urduites. I don't underestimate the significance of partition, but it is interesting how it was select communities of Urdu-speakers who decided that they couldn't live with Hindus and Sikhs and now take the same view of living alongside Pashtoons.

In my first contribution to this thread I mentioned humanity and whether this was what eventually would be used to decide futures. I did this quite purposefully because it's pointless appealing to Islamic brotherhood given what Pakistan has turned out to be - the country that I assume your forefathers campaigned so hard for.

u are comparing afghans who basically fled for their lives to people who simply wanted to move because their homes weren't islamic enough for them? the indian subcontinent has a 1000 yr islamic legacy, how does someone simply up and move away from that.

also, afghanistan accepted many muslim refugees who fled for their lives from the russians in central asia.

There is a simple solution to your immigrant problem, and in fact not just yours, it will work for Americans as well since they cry over the same issues:

STOP INTERFERING IN OTHERS NATIONAL AFFAIRS!

The Afghan refugees are the by-product of Pakistani foreign policy, the same way immigrants from Latin nations come to America, they are the by-product of American foreign policy. No one would have to leave and seek refuge if left alone. It's not a pleasurable experience. Don't paint it as such.

Do you wonder why is it that these people are directed towards Karachi but not Lahore? You are just dancing to a tune that is being played from Punjaab.

As for tax in Pakistan, please, Pakistan lives on foreign aid, thanks to Afghanistan. Your tax is next to alms compared to what Pakistan is receiving as "foreign aid" for the past 30 years.
