  • Why I dislike pashtuns

    Assalam o Alekum pashtun brothers

I'm a karachi resident, urdu speaking by ethnicity (not that it matters). There are a number of reasons why I dislike pashtuns here in karachi. I would like to discuss them here with you guys like an educated adult, not like the chowkidaar who almost got into a physical fight with me recently when I tried to discuss ethnic issues with him. This is the best forum i could find that has a lot of pahstun users and I guess it would be ideal to discuss it here. But before I start with my discussion I would like to request permission to do so. I don't want to come across as a pashtun hater or something. if you guys allow, I'll begin posting.

Well I can take a few guesses...

      1) you got bullied by one in school
      2) They are the majority in Karachi
      3) Your boss is Pashtun and he doesn't pay you well

By the way, urdu is a language, not an ethnicity.

Thanks for the go ahead ^^^^ again as stated in my original post the last thing I want to do is pick fights. If any part of what I post comes across as offensive, please understand that it was not intentional and I apologize for it beforehand. I am also happy to answer questions about karachi.

I'll touch upon the cultural clashes in a while, I want to talk about this first.
Why do pashtuns come to karachi in such large numbers? Why don't they stay in their own lands. It seems that majority of the population of karachi is now pashtun, most of whom are illiterate ones who barely contribute anything to the economy? Is it not unfair to us who pay taxes? Most urdu speaking are salaried people and therefore tax is deducted at source. Why are we paying taxes for people who come from KP. Doesn't it make sense to stay in their own province and work for it's growth rather than migrating to urban centers to put a strain on the infrastructure when it's already so overburdended?

They have no choice. America is paying Pakistan, to bomb their villages to pieces. All the American aids are going to Punjab. And Sindh provinces. So Pashtuns have all the rights to go to their cities.

If Pakistan doesn't want KP, return it to Afg, they will happy to have them back.

Look don't get me wrong, pushtuns have all rights to move anywhere in the country but sometimes it doesn't work out mate. Why? because it's very hard for pushtuns and urdu speaking people to integrate. Langauge is different, culture different. But thing that worries me most is that the migrants are nearly all daily wage workers, not educated ones. Have a look at this policy that was in place in China. http://www.economist.com/node/760635

and see how every little town in China is now brimming with industries and development.

and you are probably living in a western country since you don't seem to know anything about Karachi. If that's the case, then enjoy your freedoms, rights and living standards. don't make it difficult for peaceful people like me who want peace and harmony among all pakistanis through dialogue and discussion, not warfare.

Part of the goal of this website is to clear misconceptions about our ethnic group. So yes, feel free to tell us in a civilized way as to why you dislike us. I am more than glad to discuss this with you.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

its my understanding that its pashtuns who are gunned down in karachi weekly by the immigrants who call pashtuns immigrants.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

@admin-khan: Thanks this is exactly what I'm here for and look forward to a civlized discussion with you and anyone else who is interested.

@ randolph: Not really. The killing of innocent people on both sides is the result of the politcising of the issue. I condemn those killings in the strongest words, but mind you, 99.9% of us "immigrants" are against violence of any type. Also, I would appreciate if you guys used urdu or english in your posts, lol, I can't understands pushto. We are immigrants because we were made homeless. Hindus and sikhs had made our lives hell and were killing every muslim they could find, so we had no choice but to migrate.

Pashtuns come to Karachi in large numbers for economic opportunities. Karachi being the financial capital of Pakistan, it's bound to have some type of diversity. Karachi accounts for a lion share of the Pakistani economy, and Pashtuns are undoubtedly partially responsible for the success Karachi has witnessed.

If Pashtuns are working hard for their money, what is the problem?

                        karachi girl,
i explain you why you dislike pakhtuns?
Pashtun is the only ethnic group in karachi fighting back against MQM,,altap,, terrorists. All others such as sindis, punjabis etc accept your rule but pashtuns are born to be free.
                        Why you hate anp?
You do,nt want anyother political party to win seat from karachi so the indains/refugees will be in full control.
why you are scared of growing pashun papulation?
your dream of ,,janah pore,,,under threat if pashtun papulation grow.

Karachi was built by pashtuns.you indains are busy in corruption and terror.
Karachi was peacefull city before the indains refugees.
Altap and MQM exposed by pashtuns.
MQM and indains/refugess runing their own courts, police station and tocher cells.
Before the arrivals of indains/mahajars the city was owned by sindis, kachis, pashtuns, baluchis etc.
Historically karachi is Baluch city an ethnic casuns of pashtuns.
Pashtuns today make up the majority of the papulation but you cuning indains with help of paki establishment never recognise them.
You cut off the supply of water, gas etc to pashtun dominated areas.

look it to this ,,jahil,,indain leader of indains/refugees
Is this the leader you follow

YouTube - imran khan craking jokes on altaf hussein and babar ghauri

karachi will be the capital of pashtunkhwa wa baluchistan (a fedration of tow brothers ethnic groups and a free country from punjabistan) so it is in the best interest of indains/refugees to go back to india or they be will forced to leave.
                        You contribute only,,terror,,to karachi.

I totally agree with you on that. No doubt Karachi owes a lot to pushtuns. But the problem in my opinion is that, the immigration has kinda spiralled out of control. And with a vast majority of the pushtuns who come here from the north and west being uneducated and involved in low paying jobs, it is unfair to taxpayers who don't want the city to become too overburdened as a result of rural-urban migration. Don't you think it would be more conductive for economic growth if pushtuns stayed in their own province and worked towards it's development. Moreover, I have found it to be quite annoying when pushtuns talk about things like pushtooniat/pushtun pride etc (that includes a large number of pushtuns I have encountered) Now this is a relatively new concept for me and in my opinion it's a setback to the promotion of a COMMON NATIONAL FEELING (something that is essential for a country to advance and stay peaceful)

Karachi is a polarised city and not quite the comfortable melting pot it could have potentially been. Personally I wish to see Pashtoons prosper and take control over their own affairs and not be subject to living in the servitude of others, but as I see it, Karachi couldn't function without the Pashtoons.

There are many within the Hindustani émigré community who claim Pashtoon descent. So why the thread header about "dislike"? What exactly makes the Urdu-Speakers ABOVE other people? Specifically, where's the basic extension of humanity that all people are entitled to?

You want ,,your batha khori,,, to continue.
what about the refugees still coming from india and bangladesh to karachi?
                              are they phd holders?
