yeah the number of chinese might be growing but i can bet the majority of them is not uneducated, and actually contributes to the service industry and to the development of the united states. almost all of pushtun immigrants here are uneducated, don't make enough to pay taxes and refuse to make an effort to integrate with the other communities.

Sorry, I'm not suggesting that pushtuns ditch their language. but if they are living amongst communities other than their own, i guess they will have to make some sacrficices. otherwise they always have the option to stay in KP. 2 cultures coexisting, both with a world of difference between them are not ideal for the development of a country.

So Gab in a hypothetical world, say Pashtuns next generation is highly educated, but still speak pashto as their first language. What is the problem then? What does education have to do with culture? Can't they maintain their identity, be able to communicate with others and become educated?

P.S. if they can communicate with the others, then I don't see the issue. I still don't understand what you are trying to say. You want to second largest group to have another culture imposed upon them. A culture that isn't even native to the province.

then that country probably shouldn't insist on their claim to the western parts of pakistan.
There are people today who think that admitting God’s absolute greatness decreases the value and importance of humans in the creation, as if God and mankind are rivals competing in greatness and power. Meanwhile I feel that whenever our perception of God’s greatness increases, with it we become greater, because we are the creation of a great God.

High numbers of uneductaed persons migrating to any place, whther they be urdu speaking, pushtun, american, chinese whatever, and bringing with them a separate culture and language too can seriously hinder harmony in that place.

yep. if the next generation is educated and paying taxes and contributing to the service sectors, no1 should have any problems if they speak pushto or english etc.

Here is the problem with this line of logic...historically. See Karachi was never an educated city before 47, wasn't one during the country and isn't one today. It has an increasing percentage of an educated populace, but not an educated population. Integration into a society has little to do with a Ba. There are many people here who are barely integrated in Canada but are highly educated.

So why did you initially say they should speak urdu and not put their culture that high up?

to the person asking for clarification i dont think i need to explain how large numbers of uneducated rural-urban migrants bringing with them their own language and culture can hinder mutual harmony.

my mistake. you put forth a good point later which i had not considrered before. i do agree that the idea of an educated and taxpaying pushtun population in karachi would be great regardless of what language they speak or what culkture they uphold.

i don't know what girlsarebad means by educated either. is there even a market in pakistan if everyone suddenly became educated? in countries like pakistan, most jobs are labor, not some kind of desk work that requires a college education. its like in afghanistan when someone gets a college degree, there are not many jobs for whatever skills they posses. u should blame the pakistani state for keeping the rest of the country underdeveloped and forcing pashtuns to move and live in the economic heart of pakistan. if kp had half the opportunities of punjab and sindh, you wouldnt have a pashtun problem outside of kp.

Clarification: an educated guy would be more tolerant and courteous towards others and be able to discuss things in a civilized way like we are doing here. i'm sure if someone said this to an uneducated pushtun in his face what i have said, he would probably end up on a strecher in a hospital. i say this because i have tried it. i have had a few pushtun friends and they don';t get heated up discussing these things. but uneducated ones get worked up quickly.
