i lived in a place where i had a chance to live with all of them together and i enjoyed it very well. that place is called Afghanistan.
which one would i prefer living with when divided like that? no one. i would rather live with people who know nothing about me my language or the culture i was born to but have beautiful moral conducts because with out it culture language and everything else becomes useless. majority of the pf members have proved that to me in the last 6 months. i would rather live with well behaved apes than pashtuns or tajiks and hazaraz who have no respect for each other on the basis of humanity.

I am no bird, and no nest ensnares me.

non commercial would cost less if he was in charge himself which he plans on doing. right now it's n herat but soon it will be in qanadahar.

Hahaha, I can understand the way you have responded to this thread and Zayam (the Westerner) has approved of it.

Anyhow, ideally all humans should live togethor independent of bonds of religion, culture, language, territorial affiliation, etc. But that is a grand utopia only. The fact is, the civilized Westerners, who put themselves higher on the scale of humanistic-moralistic standards, couldn't demonsrate such ideal humanism as they at times fervently talk of or promote it (when their politics would demand it ). As long as you are a minority, accept their superiority, and don't challenge their values they are humanist (out of petty for you) but as soon as you challenge them, you can be dealt with most brutally.

One should be realistic. Who wants to live with other people on the basis of humanism only? Politics, constitution, etc. are all the things that indicates the reality of so-called humanism. Remove, the US constitution and you would find people at each other throats (probably the blacks would be butchered first). This is because bonds of race, religion, culture are very strong and people tend to cling to them when they feel their way of life or interests to be threatened.

Malgariya, what irreconcilable differences do you see between the Pashtuns and non-Pashtuns of Afghanistan? What issue is so problematic which cannot be solved across the negotiations table? What forces (sans international/regional powers and groups) stand in the way of an Afghan-Baloch confederation?

Afghan Members here have convinced me that they do care about their fellow countrymen and want to maintain integrity of afghanistan...we should respect their wishes and refrain from spreading hate against tajiks.

Yes, Luffy, I have reached the same conclusion. It is not decent on our part to interfere in their inter-ethnic issues.

                    Aseer Jan, thanks for reply.

Actually, I have talked to many politicians and intellectuals of Pukhtunkhwa e.g., Afzal Khan Lala, Afrasiab Khattak, etc. about the unification issue at length. And they were unanymous in telling me that no other model of unification is acceptable to Pashtuns of Afghanistan except the one that guarantees the integrity of Afghanistan in the present form. They cited the resistance to the idea of unification from Pashun elite of Kabul and a majority of Pashtun population of Afghanistan, who see themselves as the real and first owners of Afghanistan. According to them, Loy Afghanistan is next to impossibility. They also cited lack of enthusiasm in Pukhtunkhwa Pukhtuns with regard to "Loy Afghanistan".

However, Afrasiab Khattak told me there should be no compromise over the contacts between two Pashtuns accross the Durand... including free-trade, lifting or relaxation of visa restrictions, joint cultural events, etc. He opined, Durand Line would cease to be the dividing line with the passage of time and trade/commerce, media, cultural contacts, and other forces of globalization would automatically bring the two Pashtuns togethor to megre into one nation. At that time, I thought he is being disloyal to Pashtuns but now I realise he was right.

And one cannot blame Pashtuns of Afghanistan for this. I can understand their position. All groups or nations that once enjoyed dominent position in multi-national countries have resisted change in the status-quo. Sunni Arabs in Iraq, Punjabis in Pakistan, Serbs in Yugoslavia, Geogians in Goergia (resistance to the sessation of Southern Ossetia), etc. are recent examples of this. If I were a Pashtun of Afghanistan, I would be thinking similarly.

This doesn't mean I have gone back from the idea of Pashtun unification. Pashtun unification is still my priority. Only that I say alternative models to Loy Afghanistan model or Pashtun-exclusive state model should be explored that would help Pashtuns achieve the goal of unification without causing any upheaval in the region.

Things may also likely go the way we don't want and embroil us into a violent coflict with the neighbouring ethnic groups e.g. Pashtuns of Afghanistan may ultimately lose to ethnic minorities or Pashtuns of Pakistan may be left with no other option but to look west of Durand Line.

Actually, Pashtuns are thinking traditionally not creatively about this issue and cannot explore other possibilities and alternative solutions.
