Not really, it's not paying taxes thats bring challenged , but paying it to a haram democracy. Why doesn't he hijra to Saudi?
Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

I thought of his passport being confiscated cause he might be a potential endangerment. Some countries do that.Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostNot really, it's not paying taxes thats bring challenged , but paying it to a haram democracy. Why doesn't he hijra to Saudi?
But if it’s not that case then yes you are right he’s just bluffing and romantizing the beduin lifestyle he never experienced.

He can also do a visa ...and work towards citizen. It may take awhile but if he's genuine about his beliefs, that's nothing.Originally posted by Elias View PostYou can fly to Saudi Arabia and then burn your passport. They can’t deport you if you don’t have a passport or if they can’t find out your nationality.

The guy's paper mache' and full of fluff.....like I jhave an alternate way to explain why we live in Secular/Democratic countries but he's too much of an ideologue and not a pragmatist so he inherently falls into contradiction.Originally posted by Elias View PostWe got him

It’s a stage of his life and he’ll get over it. Especially the confrontation with you will accelerate this phase of his life to an end :D.Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostThe guy's paper mache' and full of fluff.....like I jhave an alternate way to explain why we live in Secular/Democratic countries but he's too much of an ideologue and not a pragmatist so he inherently falls into contradiction.

I doubt that lol ...but it's more to show the world who may oberve the exchange that his side is bogus and full of crap. So people may steer clear of it in the future. What the lizard eats is inconsequential to its status of being Halal or Haram.Originally posted by Nekrofrost View PostNot trying to justify but the argument ive heard is that they raise the lizards in a different way and make em eat **** like plants when they catch them to make them halal.
The truth is, lizard is Haraam li Dhaatihi (forbidden in its essence).
Coincidentally, I wrote an article on this issue on my blog back in June
رَبَّ جِبْرِيلَ وَمِيكَائِيلَ وَإِسْرَافِيلَ أَعِذْنِي مِنْ حَرِّ النَّارِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ: Lizard Meat is Haram
Narrated Abdur Rahman ibn Shibl: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade to eat the flesh of lizard. (Abi Dawud)
Even human nature (Fitra) considers eating a lizard repulsive, which should give you some indication. Furthermore, lizard is expressly declared as impure and unlawful to eat in the Torah (Laws of Moses - Leviticus 11:30), the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) simply continued this ruling because lizard truly is an impure animal not fit for human consumption
