It's ok , you're not familiar with Pashtuns; hence you keep using the word Pathan. LOL Also, we're not talking now, we're talking during Pashtun conquests. Even Brahmins at times had to lick the heels of their conquerors.Last edited by Iblis_Efreetzai; 05-27-2016, 12:56 PM.
Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

It's possible to be a practicing Muslim, but not necessarily religious.Originally posted by Khostai View PostWhat do you even concider religious then? I dont understand what you mean here.
calling yourself religious is also kind of like bragging about yourself, which is against Islam ..and wouldn't be religious anyways.

It's like saying pathans had to lick heels of sikhs etc Why any proper brahmin would lick heels of pathans, they are proud people. Toramana need to accept he's just pashto speaking punjabi khatri convert and not pathan from Sulaiman range originally. Do you think afghani pathans are licking punjabi boots by working like servants in small towns? They are just getting paid for doing work they are best at.Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostIt's ok , you're not familiar with Pashtuns; hence you keep using the word Pathan. well Pashtuns didn't since we were never made one of their hamsayas. the Parachas had been subjugated for a few hundred years well if you're conquered and you live under the mercy. As for Afghans working in Punjabi towns; these are modern times, they're not under hamsaya system. Apples and oranges.Originally posted by Golden View PostIt's like saying pathans had to lick heels of sikhs etc Why any proper brahmin would lick heels of pathans, they are proud people. It's same system beta, times have not changed in rural areas. People are yet to come out of medieval age there. Afghani pathans are modern day landless kammis in punjabi towns.Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View Postwell Pashtuns didn't since we were never made one of their hamsayas. the Parachas had been subjugated for a few hundred years well if you're conquered and you live under the mercy. You're awfully defensive about Parachas being made into hamsaya.

Very different system, since Pashtuns were never land bound. however hamsayas are. They may work labor jobs, but they can always leave if they wanted.Originally posted by Golden View PostIt's same system beta, times have not changed in rural areas. Parachas, and other conquered Punjabis were basically at the mercy of those who conquered them.

Same system beta, you just giving it different name. Kammi can always leave if they want, so how it's different?Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostVery different system, since Pashtuns were never land bound. however hamsayas are. Actually it's baloch who conquered sindh and and to lesser extent south punjab and they are still quite influential there to this day especially in interior sindh. Obviously now speaking seraiki or sindhi. While pathans moved to UP/Bihar but couldn't establish themselves in punjab, especially central and northen punjab.
Baloch decendents have been winners honestly, they are very influential in sindh and south punjab. While pathans used to be something in some cities of UP/Bihar. But right now afghani pathans basically do kammi jobs in punjab.Last edited by Golden; 05-27-2016, 02:26 PM.

Not at all, I'll tell you why, the Pashtuns conquered an area and made the locals a hamsaya. This is what happened with parachas. In return for mercy and allowing them to stay, the hamsayas work as servants. The Pashtuns who live in Punjab, are just temporary workers, they migrate wherever they can get jobs. So they'll go here and there etc.
See two different systems. It's ok your ethnic pride is hurt; but history presents horrible realities. In Modern times, hamsaya system can't be imposed, but everyone still remembers who their ancestors were so stigma remains.
Also I'd like to add, only a small number of Pashtuns ended up in Punjab, most are in Karachi or KPK.

-_- Calling yourself relligious is not braging. You say you belive in Allah and want to follow the Islamic teachings, ofcourse nobody is perfect, but I assume you pray at least once a weak in Mosque? You also participate in Ramadan, and pray 5 times a day? If so then you are relligious.Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostIt's possible to be a practicing Muslim, but not necessarily religious.
