Do you have any Quranic ayah or an authentic hadith saying one must give his daughter into wedlock to his own tribe or ethnicity?

Or maybe, you have a Quranic aya or an authentic hadith saying giving your daughter into wedlock to someone not related to you is prohibited?

When did I say that In Islam Pashtuns are only required to marry Pashtuns? I never said that. Now did I?

Only Islam matters. Anything else is baatil.

But my question would be different. Lets say your daughter is a pashtun and you have two choices:

            Either she should marry:

            1) A Panjabi (muslim)

            or

            2) A Pashtun (muslim)

            which one would you pick?

The most pious one. If it happens to be a Punjabi who is a righteous Muslim, I wouldn't hesitate to ask him to marry my daughter.

A good father, who loves his children, would desire nothing else than a pious spouse for his daughter.

What if both are equally pious?

Then I would choose a Pashtun. Preferably from my own tribe.

                    That's my point.

Your welcome, just to your points though the mixing is as pervasive in both communities. A good point of reverence is the Brahui Baloch who are completely absored into Baloch society and they are not an insignificant part of the community. As to their roots, there completely foreign and there is no need to elaborate as I'm sure your aware of this already. It's an inaccurate statement to say the Pashtoon's are anymore obliged to marrying to non-Pashtoons if anything, I think they are one of the most stringent in that respect. However, as mentioned earlier, for some, who become so immersed in another culture, its inevitable like has happened in the Arabian Peninsula with the Baloch and with the Brahui much earlier.

And truth be told, this mixing with any Punjabi's is typically relegated to Peshawar and many who claim to be Pashtun in Peshawar are not in actuality. Many of them are too the result of getting immersed in another culture, i.e., a Punjabi spending so much time in Peshawar that they end up speaking Pashto (the dominant language), taking their culture, etc. and claiming it for themselves while in reality, by blood, they are not or they too themselves were the result of a mixed marriage and claim heritage on both sides or heritage from whatever side they fancy (Pathan in Peshawar or a Pashtoon when amongst Afghans but a Pakistani in Islamabad).

Also, when your community is small, the opposite of what you said happens - people mix more. When your the minority you get absorbed, you don't absorb others and it's a struggle to not get absored. This is why many people on this forum keep championing a return to Loya Afghanistan because they fear how much further the absorption could go. The reason why it is not as pervasive on the Afghan side is because the Pashtoons in Afghanistan have not been the minority, far from it. The Pashtoons in Afghanistan have been every King in its history, President, historic figures, required their language to be respected, their culture, their clothing, etc.

In Afghanistan, Pashtoon culture has influenced the other ethnic groups as much as other ethnic groups have affected them. Many non-Pashtoon Afghans talk about many Pashtoonwali concepts as their own culture even if they don't like Pashtoons all because they have lived so long with Pashtoons and had Pashtoon culture overtly or subconsciously affect them. On the flip side, Urdu dominance, Punjabi dominance in news, movies, school, etc. make Pashtoon culture, values, etc. take a back seat to Punjabi culture. Same for all the ethnic groups in Pakistan, including the Baloch. Recognizing this is what has led to so many nationalist movements in Pakistan whereas, specific to the Pashtoons in Afghanistan, you see essentially none because they are the majority and their voices are not suppressed as much as in Pakistan.

That's basically the long and short of it and it's not to say there is anything wrong with any of these other ethnic groups except when one exhibits a lack of common respect for values each holds dear. Or, in other cases, when one group makes an outright attempts to disunify a particular group for their own benefit and even worse, when such an attempt is invoked in the name of religion.
Great post again my friend! I don't have words to respond back. You have pretty much summed up everything!

you guys are good. no panjabis in afghanistan. all iranid races. tajik, farsi, pashtun all iranid races so mixing would produce all iranid races.

                                mahnoor baloch : mixed
zardari : i think he looks like a typical full blooded baloch
                                Farooq leghari : mixed.

to be honest balochs and khuzestanis in iran are considered to be the most darkest and there was a movie abt it too whether it was a khuzestani or baloch i dont remember "bashu the little stranger"
