isn't that interpretation going outside of what the Qur'an explicitly states something you believe God only knows the true meanings of?
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
But god does say follow what is written in the Quran, and don't worry about it's true interpretation.Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View Postisn't that interpretation going outside of what the Qur'an explicitly states something you believe God only knows the true meanings of?

No .....I want to know why you can use such analogy, when you believe you can't interpret God's words beyond what is literally stated. Because if you believe that,, then the answer is clearly NO, since God only mentions burying baby GIRLS, and only AFTER they are born. Thus wouldn't pertain to abortion.
check mate literalist.
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
Since you cannot answer my reply by bringing other topics into a different topic, you are delusional. all try one last time,Originally posted by RevolutionThroughReason View PostNo .....I want to know why you can use such analogy, when you believe you can't interpret God's words beyond what is literally stated. By YOUR logic, the chances of giving birth to a Female is relatively even with that of a male. So YOUR logic, will say it's still illegal because there's a chance of aborting a female.

hUH? where was that my logic even in the remotest? lol No trust me it's all relevant; you're interpreting the Qur'an beyond what is literally stated; even though you argue that others shoudn't. So according to the literal reading of the Qur'an abortion is JUST fine, it's just you can't Kill a Baby Girl AFTER she is born. or rather BURY her, it doesn't necessarily mean you can't kill her other ways.Last edited by RevolutionThroughReason; 07-19-2012, 10:42 PM.
He is no different than us,he blindly believes in the words of other men,:
So anyhow, the debate in America currently is: when is it murder. after it is born, or after a certain time of being conceived or is it at the time of conception.
The debate at the time of roe vs wade was that people are aborting their babies anyway in an unhealthy and unsafe way and also people were leaving their babies in garbages(they still do), why not provide a safe alternative for them.
The debate also explores, should it be a womans choice alone since it is her body or does the father have a say.

In places like China and India, when people find out that they are having a girl, they abort it and when it is a boy, they have it.Originally posted by کیش View PostIsnt abortion the same as the practice of burying your newborn daughter? But this time, your burying, indiscriminately.
What do you guys think of when they know that the baby has down syndrome. People also abort when they know that or other genetic defects.

Are you serious? In Islam it clearly says the main reason for intercource is reproduction but at the same time it is allowed and even encouraged for gratification.Originally posted by کیش View PostAbortion, condoms, contraceptives are probably some sort of sins. Sex is evil, even if your married. So do it only when ye want children.
In the sexual act of each of you there is a sadaqah (charity or gift)." The Companions replied: "O Messenger of God! When one of us fulfils his sexual desire, will he be given a reward for that?" And he said, "Do you not think that were he to act upon it unlawfully, he would be sinning?Likewise, if he acts upon it lawfully he will be rewarded.
[Sahih Muslim]
A man said: Apostle of Allah, I have a slave-girl and I withdraw from her (while having intercours e), and I dislike that she becomes pregnant. I intend (by intercours e) what the men intend by it. The Jews say that withdrawal method (Al-azl) is like burying the living girls on a small scale. He (the Prophet) said: The Jews told a lie. If Allah intends to create it, you cannot turn it away.
