I never said that women should not be allowed to drive. I lived in UAE, Iraq and Jordan so I know that women are allowed to drive their but most don't drive alone. That's not the same.

This seems Islam is total failure!!!!!! My solution is that Islam is only a religion(beliefs+worship+religious morality) and has nothing to do with culture, society, politics and economics. Islam as a religion is a success but as a system is a failure because simply its not a system.

Driving should be taken as a skill and not an Islamic topic. Let the men and women be trained in driving and then let them drive with the driving license and this should not be a gender specific issue. Women can be immoral without driving. Women are complete human beings like men.

Islam is not a failure itself, if you see what is said in Quran/Sunnah, you will not say this, however muslims are not implementing any thing properly, states like saudi are a joke

I agree with Osho that Islam as a system of adminstration is a failure---As a system of values one can cautiously say it has some success. But even that is questionable.

As for people not following it properly, every system can make that excuse e.g., communism saying that I am not being followed in litre and spirit.

Arab societies today are the centers of most of the evils . They are dysfunctional, unproductive, fraught with terrorist and extremist fundamentalist tendencies, etc.

^ you have to remember that if the implementation of a system doesn't come from the top, then the whole society doesn't follow the system. There is currently no Islamic government which can be said to be truly following Islam, thats why the people in these countries are not following Islam properly( atleast large majority)

Also no body is claiming that even 100% implementation of the system will mean 100% good muslims, that is impossible since everyone follows their hearts. However what a proper implementation would do is that the "greater good" of the society will be in check, meaning the overall society wont drift towards immorality because the system will make sure that immorality of any kind isn't allowed and most importantly not allowed to spread among the masses.

I didn't say all arabs, I am espeically talking about Saudi because I lived there 14 years. The society there is totally male dominated and since I attended school there for a good 10-11 years and yes I can confirm that I heard even saw how kids were abused there, women are also abused there in many cases, its no denying. now maybe the situation is different in Jeddah not sure, Jeddah does seem to be the most open city in Saudi. I lived in Riyadh which is totally male dominated.

A women driving alone in Riyadh is indeed dangerous for her, but I still dont see any harm for her to drive with male relatives
