KingKhanOriginally posted by KingKhan View PostPashtun should be embarrassed celebrating Persian holidays. For religious sake, this holiday comes from Ancient Persia, and is probably polytheistic in nature.
Pashtuns need to keep their cultures and stop being influenced by those poisonous Iranays.
You have proven how Imperialistic Religon is from what you have just said.
So what if the holiday comes from Ancient Persia, the Burqa is an Ancient Arab Pagan dress yet I bet you tell others to wear it because of Islam.
Secondly, what do you mean by keep Pashtun culture? most of Pashtun culture has been destroyed due to Religionist Imperialistic Bigots who have Arabised the whole of Pashtun Society.
We was better off under Ancient Persia, then be culturally and morally destroyed by the Saracen Desert Beduines.

Whether the pashtuns on my side of the border have augmented certain wedding customs or not dont make it right. you people probly celebrate christmas aswel and use the same excuse, celebrating nawroz is a sign of the persian domination that afghans have been crushed by. Real persians are probly laughing their ass's off at you fake persian pashtuns running around shouting nawroz! nawroz! its cringing.----------

Wrora I don`t know the reason as to why it isn`t celebrated as often...a previous member of chai khaana had some information on Nawae kaal in Pashtunkhwa too. So I really can`t say anything beyond that.Originally posted by єѕαρχαιKP, FATA has more Pashtuns and I never heard of them celebrating , mostly Afghans /Iranian celebrate it in Peshawar
@Manzareh don't be ignorant. Nouroz is not a sign of persian domination, since it is not a persian holiday. It is a holiday that goes back to the Zoroastrian (and possibly prior to that) and marks the beginning of Spring. Since many of the empires that ruled the region were not Persian rather of other origins (from iranic tribes like median, scythian, to Turkic to even hellenic) the region has all (for the most part) adopted it. It does not mean that x group is under the boot of someone else's domination. Please don't say things before researching it. And btw certain Persian chauvinist (like chauvinist of any ethnic group) claim everything for their own group. Kurds also celebrate it, so do the turks...I am sure they were all under the boot of Persians lol.

we had a little noroz gathering yesterday at my mum's place.. our neighbors came to wish us and we had some green tea and sweets after dinner. the night went smoothly with typical afghan gathering where the topic of discussion, whether its a women's gathering or men's, is politics and current affairs around the world...
this year i couldn't make the special mixture of dried fruit that we make every year caz of being busy with our family party... but i am looking forward to eating some at my friend's home...
