I don't know how many of you attended Madrassas growing up. but, if you did, did you get a slap in the face for messing up verses? and misbehaving when it wasn't your turn to read the Quran?

Those were some good times, i got my butt kicked from 5-12 years old, and it made me a better person. Am actually good friends with my imam know.

Theres a madrassah next to my house lol and its pretty good mashallah. I wanted to attend there as a high school kid but my parents wouldn't let me.

When I used to read there, just standard 2 hour qaidah/ quran time. My teacher used to come out with the most peculiar ways of punishment, they were quite funny until you were on the recieving end of it ahaha!

One was if you didn't cut your nails he flicked his beard comb back and it would whip the nails so bad the pain would almost make kids cry!

Another one was "the chicken" where a kid would have to sit down on his feet and wrap his arms through the inside of his legs and grip his ears. It would be so difficult to stay still lol!

And the final one, he would just get his 4 ft long 1 inch thick wooden stick out and beat the living daylights out of you lol.

I have learned a lot in my times their. Know when am older, I appreciated everything. When I mention it to people who never went to places like that, they scream child abuse, I scream pussy.(excuse my language)

Lol, I know what your talking about. When the Imam would lead Asar prayer upstairs with the adults, the other kids would go on straight warfare, and that was the favorite weapon.

I went to a bengali masjid and they called it a "rawal" "rail" or something?

The girls area was like heaven compared to the boys. They were upstairs when we were in the basement, where the roaches roamed.
