Bilour criticises Imran for supporting Kalabagh dam

Terms project harmful for KP and Pakhtuns

        Bureau report
        Monday, December 30, 2013
        From Print Edition

PESHAWAR: Senior Awami National Party (ANP) leader Ghulam Ahmad Bilour has said that Imran Khan has shown his true colours by supporting construction of the controversial Kalabagh dam despite the fact that it is not in the interest of the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who voted for his party in large numbers in the May 2013 general election.

Talking to The News here on Sunday, he claimed Imran Khan in his recent statement had categorically backed the Kalabagh dam. “He is seeking votes in Punjab in the upcoming local government elections and is, therefore, in favour of the Kalabagh dam project. But Imran should not forget the interests of the Pakhtuns who voted for the PTI in the last general elections and brought it into power in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” he argued.

Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, who was elected MNA from NA-1 Peshawar in the by-election defeating the PTI candidate on the seat after it was vacated by Imran Khan, has been a steadfast opponent of the Kalabagh dam and had even threatened to tie bombs to his body and blow it up in case it was ever built.

Terming the Kalabagh dam as harmful to the interests of Pakhtuns in five most fertile districts including Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Mardan and Swabi, the ANP leader said the lawmakers belonging to the PTI from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should raise their voice against the dam as they are supposed to represent the people of the province. “Imran could facilitate passage of resolution in support of Kalabagh dam as his PTI has the majority in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. But the question is whether he is representing Punjab to which he belongs or Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where his party won most of the assembly seats? He needs to make his position clear,” stressed Ghulam Ahmad Bilour.

Hazara deserves to be a separate province, smaller province are good for governance, and so what if the pop. is half pashtun?Did the ANP even think about non-Pashtuns such as Chritralis,Kohistanis,Hindkowans and Kalashas before they decided to rename the province after one ethnicity?

PTI also support splitting Punjab into 3 smaller provinces, they're not just targeting one province, but they don't control Punjab.

ANP isn't on the ISI payroll, otherwise they wouldn't be so anti-Pakistan, they receive funds from America, and ANP leaders even send their children to study in India, and PPP and PMLN are also anti-Pakistan, the MQM is terrorist group and they're also anti-Pakistan, only PTI is pro-Pakistan, it's a national party not an ethnic one nor a religious one, it seeks to unite people, not divide them.

LOL looks who's talking, since you're from a town called Gadoon in the district of Swabi in the province of KPK in a country called PAKISTAN, so that technically makes you a Pakistani as well, and being racist towards other Pakistanis isn't going to make you a better person, even if you get a 'Pashtoonistan', you might still have problems, right now you blame Punjab for your problems, tomorrow you might blame the most dominant Pashtun tribe for persecuting your tribe, so you're basically a tribal person, you only care about your tribe, you don't believe in universal humanism or the existence of an ummah, it's always about you,you and you that's it.

So what if PTI wants to created a Hazara province? That's good for governance, wouldn't you like it if the KPK gov spent more money developing Swabi instead of Hazara?

What's wrong with constructing Kalabagh dam?Don't want Pakistan to solve it's persisting energy crisis?Or do you enjoy living without electricity?

The province that may have a problem with Kalabagh dam is Sindh, don't know how that affects you?

LMAO you're calling me a 'daalkhor', sorry to break it to you, Pakistan is now one of the most carnivorous nations in the world, and we consume more meat than our so called 'meat-eating' neighbors across the Durrand line

Many members here dislike him for his pakistani patriotism but the fact is he is only politician who is condemning military operations and drones in FATA since 2004. In 2004 he predicted that paki army would be trapped in FATA like british, and he was right.
Idk much about his personal life, maybe he was a player in his past but who are we to judge? He's a born-again Muslim and he has the best record and plans of getting things done, so what if he's patriotic about Pakistan? Its' his PHUCKING COUNTRY!He was born and raised here, and he served the Pakistan cricket team for 21 years and captained to the world cup, why would he support separatists?

If you had a choice between Imran Khan, Nawaz Sharif,Bilawal Bhutto,Afsandyar Wali,Liaqat Baloch or Altaf Hussain, who would you vote for
to become the PM of Pakistan?I personally would vote for Imran Khan, cause the others are ****bags.
