    Greetings,
I am a student of the Pashto language based in the UK. I am very greatful to have been accepted as a member of this wonderful forum - a great help for my study. Please would readers comment on my language usage above. Any corrections, tips or just general observations would be much appreciated. I apologize for typing in a Latin script in future I will make an effort to type in Pashto script. Please note I habitually use the Quetta accent, specifically the urban variety but try my best to incorporate elements of other dialects for a more wider reach. Thank you.
    Kind regards,
    A

So you know how to count in pashto. How old did he say he was?

            Welcome to the forum.
Your Pashto seems perfectly fine even though I do not know the Quetta dialect that well and someone from that area would be able to give you a better input.

The fact is they don't. Mr. American knows how to count in pashto, the pakis dont.

Pa khair raghlai. Sta Pashto samadama da.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

Everyone in Pukhtunkhwa knows and regularly use the words for 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 etc. It's mainly for numbers like, say, 32 where the Urdu word is used. Tsalwekht/tsalwesht is a common term among our people.

No, they do not. Ive lived in Pakhtunkhwa. The shopkeepers all say urdu numbers which I don't understand. The only paki shopkeepers that knew pashto numbers were the ones that had shops close to where Afghans lived so they were forced to learn the language of their customers.

Kaka they use Pashto and Urdu numbers interchangeably. Even if they do not use Pashto numbers they understand them perfectly.
