Stop getting too excited!Originally posted by khushal View PostNo, they do not. Ive lived in Pakhtunkhwa. The shopkeepers all say urdu numbers which I don't understand. The only paki shopkeepers that knew pashto numbers were the ones that had shops close to where Afghans lived so they were forced to learn the language of their customers.
I have friends from Kandahar(the supposed home of 'Pure Pashto'), and they always use Persian names for Days, and tons of other Arabic/Persian words(whereas people from Peshawar use Pashto words for those same Arabic/Persian words).
Overall for pure Pashto I will trust the Pakhtuns over Pashtuns.(Kunar and Swat e.g.).

My mind is empty for now but i think you can find it for yourself.Originally posted by khushal View Postgive me examples Mr 47, the year the fortress of Islam was founded by Brits.
P.S. 47 in my screen name has nothing to do with the 'Year' 1947(or any other year). So you can suck that.

Why are you getting mad? Its not like I insulted you or Pakistan. I just stated a fact. If 47 does not mean 1947, then just state that.Originally posted by salman47 View PostMy mind is empty for now but i think you can find it for yourself.

I can't think of anything except for the days of the week which is what you already mentioned.Last edited by khushal; 11-28-2017, 11:12 PM.

Kandahar is far from the land of pure Pashto. Even most Kandaharis will admit that their Pashto has a ton of Farsi mixed in.Originally posted by salman47 View PostStop getting too excited!

The purest Pashto (though no Pashto is "pure") is likely found in the most central areas of Pashtunistan, i.e. the areas along the Afghan-Pakistan border.

That is your opinion.
Kandahari Pashto is historically considered the most sophisticated and prestigious dialect. As far as "pureness" is considered, the Kandahari dialect being the oldest (as far as the alphabet is concerned - the sounds of the Pashto alphabet correspond exactly ONLY to the accent of Kandahar.
The central border dialects you mentioned are mainly Karlani dialects as those tribes mainly inhabit the area, especially on the Pakistani side. Those dialects have their own unique words which are not found in any other dialects so they cannot be considered "chaste" Pashto like the Urdu of Lucknow is considered more chaste than the Punjabi-influenced Urdu of Delhi, or in modern day Pakistan, Karachi and Lahore."Za d mazaro pa kaat khob kam, zma janan pa double bed kawi khoboona..."Originally posted by Bengal_TigerHe is a very clever guy, very intelligent. Kandahar is a city, look for pure Pashto in its countryside. Pashto of any urban center can not be pure and rich like rural surroundings (just like Arabic of Mecca was lacking compared to Bedouin's in Prophet times). Many people seem to forget that Kandahar is a large province not just city, and historical Kandahar was even many times larger than todays provincial unit. When Kandahar is mentioned in historical context, it also means north-western Baluchistan and Helmand.
In Peshawar valley a particular brand of regional nationalism is rampant in which they claim that their hard kheen dialect is original (and superior) and the soft sheen dialect has come into being due to influence of Farsi. They insist that Pakhtun is proper word, not Pashtun.
