Thats not the case. A big chunk of Bar Afghans, are persianized and those on fringes are more or less Tajiks in culture and appearance, just like some Pashtun tribes are Balochized and Brahuized on Pashtun-Baloch boundry. Or like those Hindkized ones in Hazara. So when heavily Tajikized Pashtun from Wardak or Logar meets an Afridi of Khyber pass, the latter appear different specie to the former. Even the Pashto accent of you lot is twisted, its dripping with Dari. Because of this, Wannabe-Persians like Firdousi feel that Pashtuns (those of Afghanistan) are culturally conquered by Tajiks. They are flattered that you people have adopted their language, and manners and customs.

lol, I can say despite being from Northern Afghanistan all my family members are Pashtuns who can speak Pashto and even read and write in Pashto despite being refugess all our lives.
There are no Tajiks in my immediate family like cousins etc but a few people from my tribe have married outside our tribe, to people of different nationalities including europeans.

Its true many Pashtuns have become Farsiwan in terms of language especially those living outside Pashtun heartlands. Its natural as its happened to Niazis of Punjab and Abdalis of Herat because the predominant language is not Pashto. Wardak and Logar are mostly Pashtuns both culture, mannerisms and everthing else, there are pockets of Farsi speaking people here and there but majority are Pashtun in every sense. A few Wardags and Logaris from Kabul do not represent all these people. As you mentioned the fringe groups are more likely to be influenced by neighbours and Wardag is on the fringe of Pashtun area so no surprises there.

Differences among different Pashtun tribes are not mainly accross the Durand Line East to West but more North to South. A wardag who is Karlani Pashtun will still have alot more in common with an Afridi than with a Kandahari.

I don't know what you are talking about in terms of accent as there dozens of accents in Afghanistan. If you mean vocabulary than of course Pashto in Afghanistan will be influenced by Farsi and vice versa. For example we say Bishqab or Qab for Plate, wbile pekhawris say Palait or lokhai. Different Pashtun regions have different expression and words and that is just natural variation particular to that area. It has nothing to do with Lar and Bar. Although Wazir and Bannusi are both Lar pashtuns, their accent and some of their vocabulary is completely Alien to a fellow Lar Pashtun from Dir or Swabi. With more centralisation I think all these accents will be lost.

Why do you care so much what farsiwans identify as? Its non of our business whether they like to be called Iranian, Tajik, farsiwan etc. Most Tajiks if you have ever been to Afghanistan are caucasian just like Pashtuns and in some cases even lighter than Pashtuns especially Badakhshanis etc. There are many Uzbeks and Hazaras who speak Farsi and they are clearly distinguishable from Tajiks in general. Ofcourse there are some mixed people but there are also mixed Pashtuns in the north. Only Tajiks in the extreme north of Tajikistan in places like Khujand show high mongolied blood and some in capital Dushanbe because its a cosmopolitan city so people from all over Tajikistan have settled there. Majority of people in Tajikistan are caucasian just like their counter parts in Afghanistan. Uzbeks only make up around 20% of Tajikistan population.
Majority of Pashtuns north of Hindukush have settled there in the last 300-400 years. Tajiks are the descendents of indigenous populations of these areas. This is a known fact and no amount of intellectual dishonesty can change that. There are high amounts of marriages between Tajiks and Pashtuns because they look similar as opposed to Uzbeks and Hazaras. All genetic tests have shown that Tajiks of Afghanistan cluster the closest to Pashtuns and that is because both are Eastern Iranics with pashtuns indigenous to the south of Hindukush and Tajiks north. These Tajiks are not farsi speaking Pashtuns as some claim but they share same roots as Pashtuns beccause are descendents of eastern iranics.
You're going on about all this Eastern Iranian **** yet not one Tajik thinks that they're related to Pashtuns; if it's none of our business why are you trying to decipher who they're descendants of?

        BTW good points. 100% agree.
Your new comments just get more retarded and more desperate, I'm just watching how low and desperate a Tajik would get just to try and prove their point that Tajiks are Persian/Iranian.

It is natural for that to happen to people are in close proximity to another ethnicity, it happens to Pakistani Pashtuns as well, just take a look at some Pashtuns in Karachin(they're almost indistinguishable from a regular Punjabi). But he wrong thing to believe is that Tajiks have culturally conquered us. Pashtuns adopted Persian culture from the Qizilbash, who made up a lot of the advisors to the Monarchs, and not the Tajiks. Not only that, Tajiks have been strongly influenced by Pashtun culture, since all the kings of Afghanistan have been Pashtuns.

You need to calm down and behave like a civil educated human being. I dislike your tribal manners. We are not in Paktia. Try to behave yourself.

Thank you but we don't need your approval. We are Persians, we speak pure Farsi and we will impose our urban culture on you. Now you can bark and insult and come up with your typical racist BS: chinky Tajiks, mongols,.. and so on. Nobody cares. Die in your rage lmao

Many Dards and Indo-Aryan groups now call themselves Pashtun, what should we call them then?!

Why couldn't he have been born in Tajikistan? He was born in Wakhsh, do some research. Do you think the modern borders of nation-states have remain fixed throughout history? Southern Tajikistan has as much of a claim to Bactria as Afghanistan you ****ing retard. "Real" Tajiks have Turkic genes? Sa'adi and Rumi use the term Tajik in their poetry. I guess they were Turks, rofl.

Btw, quit citing historians with no credibility. If you want to learn Khorasani/"Afghan" history you need to know Farsi and read historians like Ghobar, Ahmad Ali Kohzad, etc. Many local histories have been written about Herat, Balkh, Sistan, and other areas in Farsi as well during the medieval period. Don't rely on illiterate fags like Aryana and HistoryofPakistan. Then again you're a dumbass whose sole goal is to homogenize and Pashtunize the history of the region, l0l
Please tell me about those Indo Aryan groups that call themselves Pashtun in Afghanistan XD

No one knows where he was born for sure but his last name is Balkhi he could have been a real tajik who knows. Also are you trying to deny Tajiks especially Tajikistanis have turkic genes if you are your even more of a ****ing idiot irani. I showed my bosnian friend a picture of Rumi and he said he looked mongolian. Now obviously he doesnt actually look Mongolian but his eyes are somewhat slanted.

Stfu with this historians with no credibility BS. My info was from Iranica aka wannabe Irani bible. Also Abdul Hai Habibi quotes Ali Ahmad Kohzad when explaining the relations between Pakhta and Bakhtra you ****ing tool XD.

In medieval periods Balkh, Herat, and Siestan obviously spoke Farsi. However most likely Siestan had many Pashtun Sakzai/Sagzi poets.

Sorry HOP but the vast majority of Pashtuns and "Tajiks" look pretty much identical. Dont know what your on about. And its not because Pashtuns mized with Tajiks lol its cuz we both have the same origins. Pashtuns in Khyber and Pakistan look more indic because they mixed with the natives of the area.

His name was Jalaludin Muhammad its just you illiterate Afghans who want to claim all the credit so you call him "Balkhi". Since Pashtuns don't have any history they need badly to steal Persian heritage.

Truth is he was not an Afghan. He did not even know what an Afghan was.

We are Persians and we speak Persian. Iranian culture and Tajik culture are the same thing. Actually we are the purest Iranians: "Iran" comes from "Eranshahr". "Eranshahr" comes from what our holy Bactrian prophet Zardusht once called "Aryanam Vaejaeh" which was known by Greeks as "Ariana".

Why are you calling yourself an Afghan then? Nobody is even thinks that chinky-eyed Mongols can be classified as Persians. It is true that Tajiks only claim themselves as Persian to make up for their lack of history and culture.

Because I am a citizen of Afghanistan, ethnically Persian. Actually "Afghan" is a Persian word. Pashtuns lack of the "f" letter. "Awghan" would be the correct term in Pashto. Do you realize guys that everything in this country, even the name, is Persian? This proves once again our superiority. Remember this next time you call yourself "Afghan" lmao

"Afghan" is just the Persian word for Pashtun similar to how its "Pathan" in Indic. The correct translation for Afghan in Pashto is "Pashtun" and the correct translation for Afghanistan in Pashto is "Pashtunkhwa".

Hey you never know, it may end up being a Kurdi word since there is a Kurdi tribe by the name of "Afghani".

Some southern Kurd tribes (Iraq/Iran border area)

Then there is the similarities in vocabulary, grammer, and pronounciation between Kurdi and Pashto. All this can't be a coincidence IMO. See my post at http://www.pashtunforums.com/pashto-...hlight=grammer, post #4
