Your referring to hindi, right? Well Hindi first sprang up in around the 9 century but took another couple of hundreds of years before being established as a common language. Therefore hindi is also irrelevant to the name of the ancient place due to the massive time gap.Originally posted by Bharati View PostThe " hindustani language " is very old

^ muslims gave a lot to north indian culture, there is no doubt in it, but to say they were living like animals would be unfair. I mean they had structures like these even before even muslims came: http://www.pashtunforums.com/showthread.php?t=26396
also dont forget punjab and sindh were part of India, which had the Indus valley civilization
I think north indian culture is very heavy muslim influenced, but I think the culture of india before Islam was more like the present day Dravidian culture of south india.Last edited by Karachi; 03-09-2012, 01:04 PM.

original hindi was probably like Khariboli of today which is spoken in villages of west UP and Delhi area, urdu was slowly established after the delhi sultanate. Hardcore urdu has roughly 25-30% Dari/farsi words. But the base/grammar of the language is clearly from the Khariboli languageOriginally posted by AfghanResistance View PostYour referring to hindi, right? I don't think.
Urdu and hindi are sister languages but infact, there are some persian words in urdu ( like " khushamdeed " : welcome , or " hazir " etc.... ).

^ the difference in hindi came when hindu nationalists decided to replace all the dari/farsi words with Sanskrit, for example when you see hindi news for example, it is very hardcore with many Sanskrit words, of course before the two languages were same
