But why did we bring the Chuvash people in here?
The political facts You are telling are right without doubt, I am aware about that. What I was telling only that the Slavs have partly scythian origins, I didn't tell that they derive from them completely. All the later intemixtures happened, but happened not everywhere.
Dear friend, can it be that we didn't understand eachother - as it seems to me that You want to indicate me somethink I didn't pay attention at, but Ididn't understand exactly what.
Many people do no know that Turkic people are originally from NE Asia and I only mentioned the Chuvash, as I think that they are a intresting peoples. However I am sorry if I drifted somewhat off topic. The Scythians where a Indo-Iranian European peoples. However it isn't clear to me how Baltic or Slavic people have Scythian ancestry.

The Celts partly displaced the Scythian confederacy from Eastern Europe and Celtic culture has Etruscan, Italic, Greek and Scythian influences. The same is true of the Balkan peninsula where the Thracians mixed with Celts and Scythians.

The Scythians where also well known to the Greeks and I know that Herodotus wrote about them.

    Herodotus on the Scythians
    http://www.shsu.edu/~his_ncp/Scythians.html

I also know that the Eastern Germanics Vandals and Sarmatians (Alans) where allys.

Around 370, the Alans were overwhelmed by the Huns. They were divided into several groups, some of whom fled westward. A portion of these western Alans joined the Vandals and the Sueves in their invasion of Roman Gaul.

Alans - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    Alans and Slavs

Some historians argue that the arrival of the Huns on the European steppe forced a portion of Alans previously living there to move northwest into the land of Venedes, possibly merging with Western Balts there to become the precursors of historic Slav nations.[25])
It's believed that some Alans resettled to the North (Barsils), merging with Volga Bulgars and Burtas, eventually transforming to Volga Tatars[26]
This is intresting as their is Caucasian interference in Proto-Bulgarian and Uralic in Slavic. The Slavs influence in the Balkans is considerable and Bulgarian which is closely related to Macedonian was influenced by proto-Bulgar.

    • Dear Retro , thank You, now I understood better perhaps some missunderstandings.
About Turkic peoples every Armenian perhaps know even to much- is due to our continous problems with Turkey and Azerbaijian in the region. However - the Slav and Scyhian connection is complicated. There are many theories more realistic and more fantastic.
This is due to the fact that history is often missused to show political claims.
I do not want to post any of these theories as I believe the none of them are really true.
But a connection can be seen as linguistically as culturaly. And even insomehow anthropologicaly.
If You want to seek possible contacts you can find a lot of theoretics, but before going to loose yourr time I promise You that you will be bored as you will se everywhere political motives of Russians, Turks andd sometimes even of small nations like Ossetians.

Turkic people are extremely mixed. However the Turkic tribes are orginally from Western Mongolia and Siberia. Mongols, Turkics and Uralics are all cold adapted Northern Eurasians. Which is why Northern Europeans/Russians and Uralics have ancient ties.

Uzbeks are Turko-Persians and the Uighurs ancestors in Xinjiang where originally Hunnic (Buddhists) who mixed with Turkics. Although it's true that the Turks invaded Anatolia. Turkic peoples have very little to do with Anatolians in an ethnic or cultural sence. As the 'Turks' supposedly emerged from among the Huns. Whilst Turkey has been partially Arabised and nearly half the country are Kurds. Turkey has long had all sorts of Anatolian, Armenian, Assyrian and Greek infuences.

            • السلام عليكم

I am a new member and want to salute your brave Pashtuns.

Do not belive in Jewish propaganda of your sopposed descent from Jews. It is not real.

I am half Arab myself (father's side) and of Pashtun and Polish descent from my mother's side. I would like to know if Polish People are related to Pashtuns. I have heard that they share the same genes (R1a). Is this truth?

              Sorry for bad English.

Jews today don't have much semitic blood. This is not true. I am a Iraqi arab (the oldest arabs). Have you heard about the Sumer civilization? It is the oldest in the world. Or Mesopotamia?

If not read this. http://alrfa3i.jeeran.com/tarekh.html (if you can read Arabic)

We don't have much in common with Jews of today at all. Not genetic, not religious, not cultural, not mentality etc. Don't compare arabs to jews! It is a insult.

Look how they treat Palestinians and other Arab people. They burned a mosque last week as well!

                • Yes they are related but every language is related somehow. Some more than others.

Yes, we are. But as most countries we have also marry other people from the region.

From what I know ancient jews were one group now today they have spread in most of world so there are different groups.

They don't. Iraqi, Syrian, Palestinian, Jordanian, Egyptian Lebanese, Saudis, gulf States (Qataris, Emirati), Yemenite, Omanis are VERY similar genetic wise. Apart from our culture which is arab.

But it is truth that some Saudis are more black than "normal" arabs but that is because of immigration and influece from East Africa.

Maghrebi speak Arabic as well as you probably know and most are also arabs (look the same as we in Middle East) but some have Berber blood but this is most the case in Marocco, Algeria and some parts of Libya. But they are a minority.

Whilst in very ancient times the ancestors of the Arabs and Jews lived in Southern Anatolia and you are South Western Asians. Sumer wasn't a Semtic civilization and Arabs aren't from Arabia, not Mesopotamia.

However as has already been alluded to Arabs tend to have 20%-30% East African maternal ancestry due to admixture with African slave women. The Assyrians (Western Asians) are originally from Northern Mesopotamia and the Iraqi Kurds Southern Mesopotamia (Hurrians).

Thats because you have Central/Western Asian (Indo-European) and Indic admixture and the Arabs like the Indians have mixed with all sorts of people.

Semtic maybe a Afroasiatic language from north or eastern Africa. However West Asians in a strict sence are from the northern fertile cresent.

Well Eastern African ancestry is most fund in Yemen and Saudi Arabia not in the Cradle of Civilization.
Iraq and Syria are very ancient and interesting countries indeed. The Arabs however are originally from Arabia, not Mesopotamia and Iraqi Arabs are a Arabised, Near Eastern peoples.

In ancient times the Near East played host to many differed peoples and cultures. However the Northern fertile cresent has always differed somewhat ethnically from Southern Mesopotamia and Syria. The same is true of the Levant, which as one might expect has long had Southern Mediterranean influences.

The Assyrians learned to fight mounted from the Indo-Europeans and the spoke-wheeled chariot has Indo-European associations. As horses were first domesticated in the Eurasian Steppes and chariots first emerged in the Urals.

Assyrians and Armenians are closely related to one another and the ancient ancient Urartians (northern province of Assyria) had Anatolian, Western Indo-European associations.

The Hurrians also at some point aquired a Indo-European elite. Hence the Hurrians and Assyrians (Northern Semtic) to some extent where intermediary cultures and the ancient Semtic peoples heartland was further to the south in Southern Mesopotamia.

We are not related at all, nor in language nor in anything, nor was anscient Araratian(urartian) similar to assyrian.
Simply Assyria was near to us and tried always to conquist us.
At leat Hayk Nahapet(Triebsleader Hayk) won them with his people- and from that on we call ourselvs Hay and our country Hayastan to honour him.
And the Navasard(new era) holiday in august is also in memory of how we get free from Asyyrians.
Nor culturaly nor linguisticaly we are not related.
