Amir Khusrao who was attached to Khilji court, was once captured by Mongols. he described Mongols as "They had squat bodies suited to attack, bow legs and ugly faces marked by prominent ears and flat noses, swarthy skins, and bristling hair".....Originally posted by Azad Pashtunistan View PostIf Khiljis were Turks, then they would have most likely been less genetically Mongoloid than Anatolian Turks are.
For people of Afghanistan, the Mongols from Mongolia were totally alien looking, strange and "ugly"

This is a half-cocked very unscientific claim, False Phonemes is a very poor way to do historical analysis unless you can show their root words are connected.Originally posted by Azad Pashtunistan View PostThe tribe Abdali might be derived from Hephthalite. Hapthali (Hepthalite) --> Abthali --> Abdali.
Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."

I didn't state it as fact. I said it might be. It was just a theory I threw out there.Originally posted by Iblis_Efreetzai View PostThis is a half-cocked very unscientific claim, False Phonemes is a very poor way to do historical analysis unless you can show their root words are connected.

Well he has valid reason to hold his opinion; there's cultural Turk, which the Khaladj or Kharlukh may have been, but racial and ethnic Turks they were most likely not and we know this since the Saljuks were not seen as Mongoloid which makes it clearly evident that Ghilzais were mainly Caucasian since most resemble Caucasians and not Mongoloids.Originally posted by Firdousi View PostNice fairy tail. Khilij were originally a Turkic tribe. That means that the main Pashtun tribe is Turkic. Therefore most of Pashtuns are Turkic.
Don't be ashamed of your Turkic roots. Racism is disgusting.
You're right, there's nothing to be ashamed of having Turkic roots, racially or otherwise, but one must call a spade a spade, not a club a spade.

Ok but it's a commonly peddled theory, people like Abdul Hai Habibi used it in their ethnological writings.Originally posted by Azad Pashtunistan View PostI didn't state it as fact. I said it might be. It was just a theory I threw out there.

Being ashamed of mongloid/turk ancestry is post white domination phenomena. People don't want to do anything with mongloid heritage but most afghanis do show some of it in their faces in this order Hazaras>Turkmem>Uzbek>Tajiks> farsi speaking pashtuns>>> taliban fighters>nuristanis
You can reverse that order for ASI/Indian admixture, maybe with small changes.Last edited by tilla_jogian; 04-20-2016, 12:44 AM.Best post in PF history

The Hepathalites are most like the ancestors of the Abdali tribe of Afghans. Their name Ebdalo is very similar to Abdali. Not only that, they are thought to be of Eastern Iranic origin, pointing to Pashtuns.
There are Kushanic texts that are proven to be written in an ancient form of Pashto. These texts are basically very similar to the Pashto spoken by Pashtuns, and the geography that the Kushans and Pashtuns cover match up very well.
The Scythian-Pashtun link is also in language. A proven descendant of the Scythian language (Ossetian) is very similar to Pashto. Also, details of the appearance of Scythians (tall, light coloured, etc) match up with Pashtuns as well"If a lion comes and takes your share, go get it back from the mouth of the lion"

Originally posted by AfghanfootballDo you have a source that proves that the texts were an ancient form of Pashto? Iv only read that it was in the Bactrian language (sister language to Pashto).
This text was deciphered using Pashto. The only way they could've done this was if Bactrian was the ancestor of Pashto, or the Bactrian in the manuscript is a close sister language to the ancestor of Pashto."If a lion comes and takes your share, go get it back from the mouth of the lion"

Thats pseudoscience. Not reliable at all. You need to back up your stances with some stronger facts.Originally posted by Aryana View PostThe Hepathalites are most like the ancestors of the Abdali tribe of Afghans. You remind me of those Pashtuns who claim Parthians were Pashtuns just because Parthian and Pashtun sound close lol Its ridiculous man."For thirty years, I endured much pain and strife,

Nobody cares about your guess. You need real evidences. Not fairy tails. Just saying.Originally posted by AfghanfootballYeah my guess is the Hepthalite who settled in Zabul (Zabul was created by Hepthalite) and surrounding areas must have been amalgamated into the Pactyan tribal confederation."For thirty years, I endured much pain and strife,

Honestly, none of this stuff really matters, even though I'm of Pashtun background myself I've come to realize that Pashtuns are just legends in their own minds. No one else except nerdy self-hating South Asians that latch themselves to anything outside of the Indian subcontinent even cares.
I remember when I was like 10 or 11, I used to be say myself "pashtun yem nu shaghalai yem", No one in my peer group even knew what a Pashtun was, I grew up around all sorts of people, Africans, Europeans, japanese, Chinese, Americans, Turks, Persians, Lebanese, Saudis and Syrians. We even conquered Iran once and no Persian I spoke to even knew us, they just knew "Afghan" in the current sense, not historic sense. We were forgotten from their popular consciousness. Only some creepy Desi kids were like "oh my good you're a Pashtun ....can I get your autograph?" and acted like I had some celebrity status.
Maybe that should tell us something?
it doesn't matter where we came from, whether Pashtuns are 5000 years old or 1000, or the status of Pashtuns in the future. Whether we're originally Turks or whatever. You exist now, make the best of your life.Last edited by Iblis_Efreetzai; 04-20-2016, 12:29 PM.

I take it my post revealed some inner insecurity you have.
