About Pashtun mannerisms, there used to be gatherings in our villages, which we call chowk in our area, in which there used to be "majlas" and youngsters would learn from elders about lot of things like way of speaking, folk stories, mannerisms etc. With increasing urbanization, this trend is fading away. Our "Pashto" is preserved in rural belt, urbanites dont follow Pashto even though they may be speaking it. The younger and modren generation is getting Pashto-less day by day.
Absolutely true! This is what happens when you move out of your society and cannot mingle with other Pashtuns. When your close friends and society are non-Pashtun. It is then that it is important to know what being a Pashtun means.

Because your acting like the county is so holy. If it's so holy then why does it have a public red light district and its own sharaab factory.

Either Da Bannu is trolling or he's an example of the worst case of brainwashing I have ever witnessed.

Even fellow Pakistani Pashtuns that support Pakistan but are honest to themselves wouldn't say that nonsense.

Pashtun is an ethnicity, so it depends on your genetics. A person who has parents who are both Pasthun, but can not speak Pashto himself is still a Pashtun, just not a cultural one.

A person who has just one Pashtun parent is not a Pashtun, nor is he/she the ethnicity his non-Pashtun parent is part of. This person is a mutt/mongrel, belonging to no ethnicity.

According to Pashtun culture; you're Pashtun if your father is. Anything else is irrelevant.

                          • To be a Pashtun, you have to belong to a Pashtun tribe from Afghanistan or Western Pakistan (I don't consider those Indian "Pathans" as Pashtun).

                              • Culture (Pashtunwali) and mainly language (Pashto). But then again, there are fake Porkistanis who claim to be of Pashtun ancestry to distance themselves from their shameful/non-existent history and culture.
