shes a sindhi baloch. She is half sindhi. she was born in karachi. If you go search youtube on her mom or sisters you will see that the women that speak urdu are fluent in urdu without any accent. Typically baloch who speak balochi have an urdu accent just like pakhtuns when they try to speak urdu. Apparently non of their sisters have accents nor do they know balochi.جی وا ترا بلوچ ، ذندان بلوچ ، کلو واتنییے

Look pashtun to me.
I am sure sita qasmi is in the pics too 8-)
You could put hritic roshan in the pics without altering the desired response!
A customer services guy at du (dubai telecom co) i tried speaking to in pashto, assuming with certainty from his appearance and muslim name tag, that he be a pashtna and to my surprise he replied in urdu/panjabi, "bhai mein lahori paka panjabi houn, bhoat log mujhe pathan samaj te haein".
So point of the event is a group like the above SELECTED baloch is a classic example of confirmation bias, and any 'general' appearance of baloch can be easily rejected by one counter example, as on my case meeting this punjabi from lahore who looked to me like as if he just walked from the sulaimano ghar or kunaR.
But i see your point, it OFTEN happens that we see a person and have a strong gut feeling that he or she is pashtun/baloch/etc. but you cannot ignore the Black Swans.Last edited by torkham; 06-25-2013, 11:49 AM.

I diasgree and agree at the same time. Are you sure that panjabi was a 'pure' panjabi? I've met many panjabis who look different than regular full blooded panjabis and they always tell me that their mom or dad are pashtuns, etc. Did you ask him if his mother or grandfather or grandmother was a pashtun or something else? No? that might be a reason.Originally posted by torkham View PostLook pashtun to me.

These are not Selected Baloch. tbh I know most of these people because most of them are my relatives. And also keep in mind that these baloch are pure (having no pashtun ancestory). I've selected only those baloch who don't have any pashtun ancestory. If you want to see how panjabis look like to go places like lahore, karachi, etc. The general look of panjabi are like indians (because of course ethnically they are indians) and those panjabis who have slightly pashtun features or strong pashtun features are 'simply' mixed, because the rest of their masses dont look like that. You have to take the general look of a group of people to determine them, if they look pashtun and they still happen to be panjabi then they might me mixed. Because generally they dont look like that.
Of course. Black swans? i think black swans are in every ethnic groups. Let's not take this into a disrespectful manner but those baloch who are dark are either brahvi dravidians or african mixed or other, panjabi mixed, etc. The large mass of baloch look like what i've shown you. i'm not being biased at all. Go to quetta and you'll see yourself. And sun makes us all tan so the only thing left would be looking at the facial structure to determine an ethnicity.

I was once amazed to see a panjabi having green eyes and being really really fair. i was amazed however, i was still sure that she had pashtun in her. I asked her about her family and she said her mom was a khattak pashtun and dad is a panjabi. I can relate 20 more stories like these.Last edited by M17ArnoBaloch; 06-25-2013, 12:34 PM.جی وا ترا بلوچ ، ذندان بلوچ ، کلو واتنییے

The pakistani media has been brainwashed. You will see all the "fair" people in the television and most of them are "pashtun" or either "mixed pashtun". The rest of Pakistan's masses dont look like people in the television. The people in the television don't represent the general mass of pakistanis. They tend to take pashtuns or mixed people and put them into television. You can tell this because if you go to places like karachi you'll see yourself. The mass of pakistan dont look like people in the television and they are either pashtun or half. Just like how bollywood has mostly pashtuns. Those pashtuns dont represent a regular indian. The regular indian doesnt look like the bollywood actors at all. This is all biased representations. The panjabi people think that they look like that but in reality they dont because they dont know what ethnic group the person in a television belongs to.Last edited by M17ArnoBaloch; 06-25-2013, 12:16 PM.جی وا ترا بلوچ ، ذندان بلوچ ، کلو واتنییے

I agree completely. I have across so many so called Pashtuns who i thought were pashtun but to my disappointment were something else. I guess it's true that looks can be deceiving.Originally posted by torkham View PostLook pashtun to me.

But isn't debatable that the balochis in Quetta have mixed with Pashtuns since Quetta is a city dominated by Pashtuns?Originally posted by M17ArnoBaloch View PostI diasgree and agree at the same time. I told you before the pictures I have collected are of pure baloch (meaning no pashtun ancestory), I know all of them personally. And I also told you about baloch people dont tend to mix with pashtun its in their tradition and all the baloch families i know have not married any pashtun because they blieve in keeping their heritage and culture lineage strong. Read it in books and also visit baloch families in quetta they will tell you.Originally posted by Kushan Prince View PostBut isn't debatable that the balochis in Quetta have mixed with Pashtuns since Quetta is a city dominated by Pashtuns?
The pics ive showed you are of pure balochis but yes its debatable that "Some" baloch are mixed with pashtuns. Because language is a barrier. Why would you give your daughter to someone who speaks balochi and you speak pashto? how would you communicate ? but then again there might be intermarriages but the pics that i have showed you (have no pashtun ancestory, i've done all my research).
Most pashtuns are also mixed. forexample, many pashtuns have tajik ancestory, ie grandmother grandfather, etc. and tajiks also marry pashtuns. So it's a mix match. hazaras also marry tajiks and pashtuns alike.
but regarding the pics, i asked all these people on facebook if their grandfather or great grandfather was a baloch and they've all confirmed so and also because i know them personally. Most people in the pics are related to me personally.Last edited by M17ArnoBaloch; 06-25-2013, 01:51 PM.جی وا ترا بلوچ ، ذندان بلوچ ، کلو واتنییے

You claim these are not selected baloch, fair enough.
'Black Swan' is a metaphorical term to describe surprising events - I did not use as penorative to describe the darker baloch - I used it because I recently read a book by same name by Nassim Taleb.
Of course many tv personalities are often chosen on appearance/attractiveness and colour has had a historic and hotly debated relationship with concept of beauty, but prevalence of light skin is not just due to pashtun mixture. I have seen quite fair sikh and northern indians, and i have compared this to so many dark goans of purported portugese ancestry (de silva, de souza, fernandez etc) - point being, can one or two individual ancestors (pashtun or portugese) significantly change that ancestry-progeny - i suspect not, because the possibility of greater injection of 'foreign' genes into this pool have ocurred with time and migration of humans. So the Medes link is probable but I am not convinced if the Baloch are the remnants of Medes alone because they can be taken for pashtun too, as suggested by others in this thread.
If you put these baloch in a line up in India or pk, sure people might say these are 'pathan', but put them in a line up with a kurd, baloch, pashtun, tajik, lurestani (iranian) and a few lighter variety of indians like hritic roshan, then your baloch may be harder to separate, what do you say?
( I do find it hilarious that any light coloured person in pk is often labelled 'pathan' (ughhhhhh))
I proposed this scenario bcz i knew a few turkish kurds and some of the girls looked like kochyan, pashtana, the guys looked like a collection of pakistani/indian, gypsy with slightly ruddy features .
Anyways, you have a pretty handsome family.Last edited by torkham; 06-25-2013, 05:44 PM.

But i believe that people like hritic roshan, ashwariya rai are aryan remnants. They are selected models/actor and are millionaires... an average indian doesnt look like hritic roshan...
remember it's bollywood, they put alot of makeup and have different lighting conditions to make a person look however they want (light or dark).
Hritik roshan can look like this in camera/makeup...

But will look like this off-camera

you can't compare an average guy to a model/actor who is a millionaire...
An average indian looks like this off the streets...

pashtuns, baloch, kalash, etc donot put makeup on themselevs and are not multi-millionares nor are they under lighting conditions / bollywood camera tricks and can still look like this ....

The pure Baluch are very fair colour. They look more like pashtuns, kurds and iranians.
The mikranis and brahvi are mixed race.
The mikranis are not baluch .They just speak the language.
Even in pashtun society we have ,,kasabgar,,,like jola, dum, paracha, chumyaar, naay, tarkaan and so.These people are not pashtun by race but just by language. The kasabgar look like indains and thats where they came from as a slave.

Support pashto language and greater pukhtoonkhwa.
