he argues that someone took two concubines and i said i took four so what, this is another issue, and such things can not be verified.

what he is doing is the very same thing that Bush did, after losing votes he stressed on the war on terrorism and the threat of international terrorism,so he won some sympathy.

so on one thread you are being the pious, rightous, religious one and on another, you make a tawdry joke about afghan women.

              Faye me ol mucker

According to people like Afghanistan2010, if the Americans do the rape, the domestic abuse and oppression of Afghan women then its haram and terrible but when they do(people like Afghanistan2010) do the rape, abuse, concubine collecting, lashing, throwing them into prisons for moral crimes, lashing them for revealing feet, then its considered righteous, part of the code of conduct of the soldiers of Sharia!

Its a shame Afghanistan2010's own mother was never subjected to domestic abuse or stabbed with a screwdriver, or he wouldnt be such a dimwit.

Faye, for then, truth means lies, and its all a conspiracy to defame their "Afghanistani" values, even though the mistreatment of Afghan women is open and regionally known, this is the very same Afghanistan2010 who once stated he wants to free Iranian women from Mutah, this coming from a Taliban supporter, the same Taliban who jailed women for not covering their feet or having mendi on them, the same Taliban who killed people for taking photos while they held hands with eachother and took their own photos in quite odd ways such as holding hands etc.

I would take what they say and do with a pinch of salt even living in the west they still remain like their kin abroad, I feel sorry for all those gullible lefties in the West who think these people who run around screaming Anti War Anti War we oppose the war on Afghans etc etc will do anything good for Afghanistan.

If the Taliban took 200 Hazara women as concubines what do you expect from their supporters.

Women are mistreated in Afghanistan, trying to deny this is pathetic, i believe its all down to a serious lack of academic and religious education.

people as a whole are mistreated, if your rich your alright, if your poor then you can que up for days just to get some immodium.

It's a massive issue, and not just exclusive to Afghanistan. The struggle for women across the developing (and developed) world to gain more control over their own lives is a 2015 United Nations Millennium Development goal. It's a slow (global) process that the UN is unlikely to meet. However, if there is economic and political stability all the UN indications are that a girl with a Grade 5 education is more likely to have surviving daughters when she, herself, is a mother and they are more likely to get beyond Grade 5, thus leading to upwards mobility and independence. Other interventions are needed, of course, but education is a good way to start.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

                    charity doesn't solve our problem.
                    Especially obliged charity.
The type that has to be declared and made a show off. This does nothing but feed the ego of the rich and validate the existence of the poor.

In any case what is irritating about this video is that it is the same rhetoric that George Bush Jr. had broadcasted on CNN and FOX. "Afghan Girls don't go to school". "Women can't work". "Domestic Abuse". Blah Blah. This does not shed light on the real issue. Once again, soldout you are driving idiotic arguments, and the sad truth of the matter is that most people have been indoctrinated by this 10 year old mantra so much so that they take it as an axiomatic truth - women are victim. So to correct this, the Afghan Parliament has to have a share of female members in it...and what of it? This is again a cliche of the west - "Muslims have concubines, oppress their women, keep harems for their perverted and twisted fantasies"...and so it goes back to the same idiotic argument - "Arabic Islamic values are the cause of all indignation". Is that true?

We don't really have a true measure of "Who suffers most". If suffering can be measured at all. Quite easily, women and children become the "helpless" lot during war times, on account of their fragile nature. Most of those women that are begging on the streets with 10 children around them are widows. So the question is, is it better to be dead or alive?
More men die than women, now more than before. This is a truth. The life expectancy of women are longer than men. Approximately 500 children in Afghanistan die every day out of hunger. And if we consider the fact that about 30 or 50 Afghan men die every other day almost from NATO bombing, regardless of their affiliation. And add to that the number of Afghan men in prisons and mental institutions. And add to that the number of men who have been turned into concubines for homosexual drug dealers. I would hypothesis that more men are victims than women.

At least with women there is a concern for their welfare. But what about the men? Because in the modern world, all men have something in them that makes them evil they are essentially hopeless. And if there is corruption, murder, injustice, then it is because of the men. Therefore, women are by nature victim of men.

Why should I care if women suffer?
I really don't think there is any hope for women.
                    Not even developed countries.

Just recently the American media has gotten into a frenzy because of a comment made by a presidential candidate...And it is said that "In America there is a war on women".

                    Women are by nature victims.

It is like saying "Oh, why does a triangle have three sides?...Oh the inhumanity of it all! Someone do something about it!"

When was women's education so important even in the west? When today an American presidential hopeful says that according to his wife, a woman's main concern is economics! To which millions of mothers take offence.

                    You people are like sheep.

You are psychologically programmed to say what you do and feel what you do. You don't have a mind of your own. And therefore you will always be the self hating victim.

Alchemist makes some very insightful and painfully accurate points; namely the exploitation of women's suffering as a tool of hegemonic intrusion and subjugation of other culture's under false disguise of the doctrine of humanism.

Does this mode of approach sound familiar? of course, it's the same manipulation and emotional black mail strategy that extremists use to justify murdering their own Muslim population under the fraudulent pretense of claiming to represent Islam.

WIth that said .....just as the conquest to subjugate and "domesticate" Muslims culturally and psychologically into passive and serville pets; so too is the reality that in the Muslim world, the abuse and denigration of women is a very real problem.

What needs to be done is to separate the misuse of Women's welfare issues for corrupt political and imperial conquest and the correct and legitimate concern to alleviate the plight of women, there is an alternative; it does exist.

Don't you dare talk about my mother.
My mother is brighter than a thousand suns put together and you can't even hold a candle up to her. My mother is a lioness. And you are a mother like a cow is a mother to a calf.
If all the women in Afghanistan were like my mother, today we would be the conqueror and you the conquered. If they were like my mother they would eat their own flesh then take pity from the likes of you. If the women of the world were like my mother there would be campaigns around the world to end the plight of men instead of women.
If I can't feel sorry for women like you...its because my mother has never shown any moments of weakness or hopelessness or fear in the face of adversity. My mother is exceptional like that. So don't you dare talk about my mother again.

We Pashtuns would like to see all our people educated to the highest degree possible. And by "people", we mean both men and women. An educated woman is independent, she is aware of her rights and she can escape domestic abuse with relatively lesser difficulty. In fact, if you educated a mother, you educated her whole family.

When you have a family, you can keep your daughters at home. Put them in a tent (burkha) and lock them up. We Pashtuns, on the other hand, would like to see our women prosper. In neighboring India, Pakistan and Iran, women are reaching new heights while our women are still traded between clans as cattle. We want that to change and we don't care what anyone in the West thinks about it but we want it to change for our own sakes.

We don't care what anyone thinks. Isn't the acquisition of knowledge made mandatory for both male and female?

In fact, the ANP has recently passed legislation that will punish parents for not sending their children to primary school. Similar legislation should be passed in Kabul and Quetta.

The difference today between the superiority of the West and our inferiority is education and you have the nerve to tell us that we should leave 50% of our people uneducated.
"If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be".

"Knowledge will forever govern ignorance; and a people who mean to be their own governors must arm themselves with the power which knowledge gives".

The modern education system is over rated.

If you sincerely believe that the difference between the muslim world and the western world is due to a difference in "education" then you don't really know much about how the world really works. You probably don't even live in the real world but in some fantasy world. America isn't the world super power because it has the best education system in the world...which as a matter of fact they don't!
I have already written several posts in regards to the drawbacks of the modern education system. How it is based on a managerial system concocted during the Industrial Revolution to produce the middle class. Look at America as a prime example, the average american doesn't even know where on a map is Canada yet they are the world's most "powerful" nation. Then fast forward to Japan and look at the state of women there. A larger percentage of Japanese women are single and well over the age of 30 with no desire to be in any form of relationship. Modern day spinsters. So do you have the states to compare where the women fair better? You think once a woman leaves an abusive relationship all her woes would end? Even western women that are divorced face hardships, despite their education.

Domestic violence is a cultural problem. Even educated and rich men abuse and torture their wives. In happens everywhere.

You don't need an education to be a good person.

There are qualities that a person must have, that are not nourished by schooling systems. Common sense, morality, ethics, reason, imagination, intuition, just to name a few. A woman has attributes about her that are different than a man. Yet the school doesn't cater for the specific differences that are present between the brains of men and women . Men and women have different roles and functions in society. Let's suppose that pashtun women are educated. So what? They will have a job, and they will be economically independent. They will then become producers and consumers of goods and services. They will be able to leave abusive spouses or parents and fend for themselves. Is that so? Hardly. Even if they have the degrees and the diplomas, if there are no companies to hire them, if there is no infrastructure and security or a strong government they still won't have their "rights".

You are a fool to put the cart before the horse. Fix the men. And the women will turn out just fine.
