Here is another one that i remember my mother says all the time

Hold your hand in a face, and let your palm face you. If you notice line of your fist extending towards you to your wrist, means you will become rich. If the line on the side of your fisted palm (coming out below the pinky) extends out, means you will be in debt.....something like that

If you close your hand (almost into a fist), the number of creases on the side will show how many wives you will get (or children...I can't remember)

To advise others is an easy matter, the difficulty is accepting advice -- since it is bitter for those who follow their
          own inclinations and desires

I think its the number of children according to the number of lines coming out of the fist

If your right hand itches, money is coming in for you

OMG! i am loving this thread

                  I have a couple more,

                  * feroza color (turqoise) helps to keep nazar away

                  * the reason why the bride has a henna night is because henna is a symbol for fertility (i am sure many Afghan woman found this false)

Now i am reminded of my mother and my aunts

Hmm....well pounds are worth more than afghanis so either way you still lose out

You know the point on your head at which hair grows around (forgot the name in pakhto) ?
I heard that the number of those shows how many wives you will get...most people have one and most people also have one wife.....some people have two and some people also have two wives.....it is rare for someone to have more than two.......just as it is rare for someone to have more than two wives.

....all this evidence means it must be true!
