Marriage to non-Pashtuns

Wow. With the highly technologically advanced world we live in today, good luck in trying to "isolate" Pashtuns from what you consider a "disease."

Killing people because they married outside their tribe or ethnicity? Hmm... since you love to bring Islam into so many posts of yours, I'd like to ask here: How would you explain from killing a Pashtun from an Islamic perspective, just because they married a non-Pashtun? How would you explain that to God? And do you think the Prophet would approve of your killing people because they didn't marry Pukhtuns like you want them to?

Thank God that LEGALLY death is not the punishment for those who marry outside their culture/race! What a backward thinking that so is.

I mean, to promote the unity of a people, to ENCOURAGE people to marry within their culture - that's different, and I totally support it. But to say that if they don't hold the same mentality (i.e., they don't think marrying Pashtuns is as important as it is to you), you'd kill them -- that's just ... wow! Backward, cruel, insane, and many other things bad.

Wow, so much racism and hatred and shallowness going on here! My goodness - looks?! Entire continents of people receiving this sort of thinking from us? Quite appalling, to say the least!

We think we -- Pashtuns -- are beautiful, and the people of Africa think they are beautiful; Arabs (non-African Arabs included) think THEY are beautiful, and Chinese think they're beautiful.

All groups people beleive their own people are more beautiful than others, sometimes even while acknowledging that others are beautiful as well.

So, yeah, while you think Pashtuns are important and beautiful people, some in Africa must totally disagree with you and think that they're more important and beautiful than you are.

We're all humans, for God's sake. Our cultural, geographical, etc. differences shouldn't prevent us from giving all humans the respect that they deserve simply for being humans, for being AMONGST us (if being amongst us deserves any respect all). What I mean is that they're just as human as you are, and while you think lowly of them, not all of them think highly of you either -- and rightly so!

Just because you just converted to Islam, you think you will get attention from everybody as you are something special, Pashtun problems out weigh Relgionous issues, and we have a very big problem with identity, and drastic action needs to be taken on Socialists and those who promote Multiculturalism and work to destroy Pashtun unity and heritage.

I think Maseed - you seem just not for Pashtuns associating with the rest of the world. But...that is a pretty high hope. You may be able to do that with your family, and with your children - but in this day and age...its VERY unlikely.

Its almost like Pashtuns are going out of extinction - and he fears they will. Am I right? Trust me, pashtuns - no matter where they live or who they're with - if they're true pashtuns, they won't forget it.

I am like 5th generation French, and I am so proud of my french name, i learned the language, celebrate all the holidays and so on. I'm 3rd generation Lebanese, but I taught myself arabic, and also follow the culture. Yes, that means I follow 2 different cultures, but its a beautiful thing. HOWEVER, RACISM IS NOT BEAUTIFUL. Its also the reason people are over there killing Pashtuns.

Precisely ... cultural pride is one thing, but any idea about racial purity is a construct of the insecure.

My challenge to this kind of thinking here, is for people is to pick up a book in Pashto and read it, because just being a Pashtoon by birth doesn't mean that you can access the literature and poetry and nor does it mean that your "pure" Pashtoon children will have anything left of their culture left in them by the time they age and die.

And aren't there some hadith reports that Bilal, the Prophet's companion who recited the adhaan and is said to have had the most beautiful voice the Prophet had ever heard, a "black"? Wasn't HE an African -- a "black" African?


I still can't stop laughing, man. Our geography is one of the factors in determining how we look; people in the mountains of NW Pakistan don't have the same skin tone that people with extreme exposure to the sun even in the same country do.

Besides, history and science claim that humans originated in Africa. Originally, ALL humans looked like "monkeys," if you will, and humans and monkeys have over 98% the same DNA. Doesn't that tell us something?

Yeah, this is just amusing. People in "Africa" looking like "monkeys" and we thinking that that's something bad or disgusting, or something to avoid! Or something to be grateful that WE are not!

Well, like it or not, but they're you're brothers and sisters in humanity. Live with it, kids.
