You know you are an Afghan when..............

-You meet a stranger, you talk to them for hours and share your entire lifetime story: But you never bother to ask each other's name.......

-Your parents will always compare you to children of their friends when they are mad at you: 'Look at his son, he is so educated!' 'Look at her daughter, she is such a good cook!'

-You haven't met at least half of your (second) cousins.

-Your father was known as a doctor or engineer back home.

-Your mother had her entire village/area as her suitor.

-Your parents still don't realise this is actually 21st century now and they don't have to shout on the phone any more to be heard by the other person.

-Someone calls you up and your mother says: 'Oh my God you got such a long life to live, I was just thinking about you!'

-Your parents call all your siblings' names first before he/she comes to your name when he/she needs you.

-As soon as men in your family start talking politics, they kick off with cursing Pakistan, Iran and Saudi.

                    To be continued, LOL.

u know u r afghan when ur mother calls u on your office phone and when u pick up she says.. where r u ? (duh , where have u called)

u know u r afghan when u mom calls u 15 times a day at work to remind you how u have to go to afghan store to pick up the bread on time... or any other item she needs... and when u say "i remember mom" she accuses of being too amercanized that u don't like her phone calls anymore hahahaha...

                              she is a blessing.

Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!
