  • I've been told that we speak Pashto very fast. How much of that is really accurate?
Even Adobe Photoshop can't change me.

A line[Durrand line] of hatred that raised a wall between the two brothers -Hamid Karzai

For generations, the Hindus of India prayed for deliverance from "the venom of the cobra, the teeth of the tiger and the vengeance of the Afghan."

The men of Kábul and Khilj also went home; and whenever they were questioned about the Musulmáns of the Kohistán (the mountains), and how matters stood there, they said, "Don't call it Kohistán, but Afghánistán; for there is nothing there but Afgháns and disturbances." Thus it is clear that for this reason the people of the country call their home in their own language Afghánistán, and themselves Afgháns. The people of India call them Patán; but the reason for this is not known. But it occurs to me, that when, under the rule of Muhammadan sovereigns, Musulmáns first came to the city of Patná, and dwelt there, the people of India (for that reason) called them Patáns—but God knows!

    -Ferishta, 1560–1620

Lol......they will chew pashto words......though most of the words they use are those that we use too but they will pronounce it differently in their own style......

I often hear this strange sentence from him when he is angree :

"Ker dey pa dabalee sha" which means "kor dey wraan sha" similarly he would say :Rheeeeend yeeeee nazar dey na' lageeeeeee (lengthening some words)
Na soz sho na saaz sho,
      Bas hasy jwand tamam sho

I haven't yet heard many, but I would agree Qandahari's speak very fast. I would be nervous meeting one. Writing it out, not much of a problem though.

A butchered dialect then? (I joke). Sounds interesting. I am yet to hear it.

I agree with you, they place zair under words making them difficult to understand e.g for tora (sword) they use tira, for kor (home) they use kair.
also they have lot of unique vacublary for words.

I think it is the word wran that we use for a naughty person.....but has changed to wiran as most of the tribes living on other side of Kohat tunnel place zeir under words as you mentioned.....Urdu daan do this with Farsi and Arabic words like they will say Nimaaz instead of Namaz, Rehmat (Rahmat Ar.), Behis (Bahas), Ighwa (Aghwa) etc..

You were the one who said that marwatwala has no logic ,sar pair as they use chena instead of kena, while mazhala is making fun of banuchi dialect calling it butcherd dialect. you kheen dialect speakers have habit of making fun of any unusual/unique dialect u come across.

Yes AKSAR (most) is arabic, from KASEER (many). Same structure with more words used in Pashto/Dari/Urdo like KABEER (big) - AKBAR (biggest); JAMEEL (pretty) - AJMAL (prettiest); KAREEM - AKRAM; QADEEM - AQDAM; etc.
