Sima is also synonymous with the Arabic word Ilaaqa (region)

Dera manana, I liked those pages. Btw can برګېدل be used for angry and تپوس for question?

We use سورى for hole, انګور for grapes, and سوچ for think. We also use چم for community. Are those correct? Also is fire اور or انګار? What about لومرى or ړومبی?

            Translation:
I read an article about Kemal Ataturk language reforms. In that it was written how he cleared turkish from foreign words such as arabic and farsi.
If we look at the state of pushto now we find that rather speaking pashto we are speaking hindi/urdu, arabic, english and farsi. If we let are language deteriorate like this than we are harming our national identity.

            What do you guys think?
A nice place to spend energies and money is not just the historical investigation of the Pashto language (using an evidence based set of sources of course) but also understanding that there are other prominent reasons why Pashto is suffering in comparison with other languages.

My wife and I both speak Pashto in the home and to our child but there are little to no resources for children.

If you youtube Spanish cartoons or even Arabic or Persian cartoons all the modern sleek cartoons are translated for children to enjoy in their native languages... yet Pashto has no efforts or native cartoons except some poor rip off version of Tom and Jerry with many many urdo loan words.

Children's book linking English and Pashtun? Forget it... there is only 1 such children's book with bright pictures that a young 3 year old would like and that is written by a European white guy (embarrassing).

The only thing I located was the RAND corporation backed Sesame Street in Pashto which my child loved (I hate Rand but have to admit this was a good job). And even that lacks more than 5 episodes posted on youtube.

Basically we are lacking in print and video media for even preserving the diluted evolved language we have now, so I don't know how to even consider going back.

The Afghan government released some official Pashto teaching books but they are also as I said not conducive to a fun learning way that most Kids are now apt to want. Dora the Explorer is in Spanish, English, Persian, Arabic, etc etc etc yet a little Pashtun girl cannot find a Pashto overdubbing of it. And there is no alternative like Laila Sayaah yet.

I don’t like it when Pashtuns use loads of foreign words in their mother tongue. There are many Arabic and Persian words which simply aren’t necessary.
              For instance:
اوبیز (obiz) blue instead of آبی (Persian)
اینه (ina) army instead of پوځ (Arabic)
برلوین (brelwin) south instead of جنوب (Arabic)
ختیځ (khatidz) east instead of شرق (Arabic)
غرمه (gharma) south instead of جنوب (Arabic)
غومن (ghumen) time instead of وخت (Arabic)
کب (kab) fish instead of ماهی (Persian)
ګروهه (groha) religion instead of دین (Persian) [Arabic too borrowed it from Persian]
لمرښی (lmarxi) [or نمرښی or میېرښی] north instead of شمال (Arabic)
لوېدیځ (lwediz) west instead of غرب (Arabic)
لینه (lina) religion instead of دین (Persian)
هسک (hask) heaven, sky instead of آسمان (Persian)
وږ (weg) poison instead of وښ (Dardic)
وغ (wagh) God instead of خدای (Persian)
وو (wo) wind instead of باد (Persian)
وۍ (wey) pig instead of خوګ (Persian)
ینه (yena) liver instead of ځیګر (Persian)

This is a question i have with regards to Urdu

I wonder why Pakistanis dont want to clear Urdu of foreign words because if they did, it will be exactly the same as Hindi.
Pakis live under a false identity by keeping Arabic and Persian hard and ingrained into their national language.....

When the rural Punjabi farmer speaks his Punjabi dialect, is he speaking a "pure" language or has it been mixed with foreign Arabic/Persian words such as Urdu???

Mustafa Kemal Ataturk was a proud Turk (with really Albanian or Jewish roots hahaha) that made Turkish vocabulary to be only from Turkish. Cleaning up foregin words from Ottoman Turkish.
Pakistanis are ashamed of their Rajput/Aryan ancestry or whatever the hell race most Pakistani people are....
And we have proud Pakhtuns keeping Pashto to be pure Pashto.....

Pakwatan or Any Paki, tell me how many foreign words are there in Urdu, Punjabi, Saraiki and Hindko....

for sure, i know Bengali and Sindhi have been purified from English/Latin/Persian/Arabic loanwords from their nationalists.... or have they?
I know Bangladesh kept on using Bengali script......

Urdu itself is not a language, it is called a lashkari language which means that it is a combination of many languages like arabic, parsian, hindi, Turkish etc. So it can not make it itself free from foreign words.

Punjabis are the only ethnic group in Pakistan that are proud to deny their ancestry and disown even their mother-tongue in favor of trying to copy and wanting to be like foreigners that have nothing to do with them.

Punjabis think of Urdu as superior to their own language even though Urdu is a type of creole language thats is just a b******ized form of Hindustani. Punjabis consider Urdu to be superior because it has more loanwords from Persian and Arabic and Punjabis are always desperate to try and associate themselves with anything Middle Eastern.

It is all part of the inherent Punjabi inferiority complex and self-hatred these monkey's have for themselves and have tried to inflict on the Pashtuns, Baloch and Sindhis too.

Urdu might be having foriegn words but no one can deny the fact that the mother of All language "Sanskrit" has its origin in Pakistan or is the language indigenous to Pakistan especially pakhtunkhwa(Charsada).

Urdu is one of the fastest growing Language,i was surprised to know that even in Japan, they are teaching Urdu to the native people(Only those interesed)

Urdu has borrowed alot of words from persian though today is a much larger language than Persian(Despite the history of Persia language).

More than 90% of Pakistani can understand Urdu, atleast 70-80% indians,50-60% of Afghanistan people can understand urdu, followed by atleast 40% in Oman,50% in UAE and 19% in KSA.

It will be very much safe to assume that every 4th or atleast 5th Person in the world can understand urdu.

Baloch is a language similar to sindhi/punjabi than pashto.I was surprised when i heard it for the first time in abu dhabi visiting a garage with my brother.I thought they were speaking a modified Saraiki language.

No offence but i think within the next 2-3 Decades,Urdu will be the 2nd most understood language in Afghanistan after Persian replacing pashto to third position
