While pakols are popular, turbans are too. In fact, they seem to be making a modest comeback. I know of multiple people who wear it even though their fathers don't.

Interesting. Almost no one wears it in the Peshawar Valley anymore.

I live in liberal southern California, so no one says anything when I dress in Muslim clothing. Only times I've ever had anyone comment on my clothing was either to compliment it, or around Halloween a few people thought it was a costume lol.

That's unfortunate. It's still pretty common in Afghanistan, especially the rural areas and among elders. It's not even a solely Pashtun thing over there. Tajiks and Uzbeks wear it too.

          • Me being a part of a Karlani tribe, was really happy to see others dialects similar to mine.
These are some words from my pashto, are they the same/similar to other Karlani dialects?

            Teekala- roti/doodai
            Landabal- salun/dish
            Merastarga- sun
            Aangi/Oongi- moon
            Thamba- gate/2doors
            Mazaray- sher
            Shodai- milk
            Peye- yoghurt
Soonga(This one is hard to write) - nose
            Pkha- foot
            Orkai/Orki- boy/girl
            Chola- street
            Thapa- sector
            Bati/churbati - lightbulb/torch light
Anuh(this is also hard to write in English) - nine
            Atti -shop/dukan
            Tatti- toilet

We also pronounce the w (waya) as y (yaya) and the ending in yayam is oo

              This is another killzai account.

Make sure to disregard everything he says.

Killzai, you’re truly pathetic. Your nurzai account was banned so you immediately switch over to another account? Couldn’t even wait a day? How about you take the hint that you’re not wanted here?

I am not that guy. I am new to this forum and just trying to learn more about Karlani dialects. What a welcome though. What's wrong with me trying to compare my dialect to others. A better welcome would be appreciated

                    • da Usterzo is definitely killzai . No one except Killzai starts off by trying to fabricate tribal cred in the very first sentence. "Me being part if a Karkani tribe"

Also his response back to you 'What's wrong with trying to compare dialects?" ...Clearly that's not why he was called out.

Also, as economist Kaushik Basu says: "For a nation to progress it is important for people to spend time on science, mathematics and literature instead of spending time showing that 5,000 years ago their ancestors did science, mathematics and literature."
