A lot of Indian muslims have migrated to Punjab, but prior to that Punjab was part of the Iranic world borders. In terms of race we Punjabis might be closer to Afghans and Iranians than we are to Indians. Punjabis are a border race....punjabis have significant Iranic bloode. Punjab was after all border region between South Asia and the Iranian plateau.Originally posted by asif86 View PostMost subcontinent muslims were converted from hindus. We have much less iranian, turk and arab blood in us than what some people say.
Punjabis = Indo-Iranid race = significant Iranic with some Indic.

Zayn Malik's father is a good example of an Indo Iranid race, he is a pakistani Punjabi:

OK Agreed.Originally posted by Shapur View PostIt is everyone's natural right to be taught in their mother tongue and then be able to preserve your language by putting it into use in everyday life. There is a reason why Pashto is left behind other languages, because we are not using it in all spheres of life. Then we complain Pashto is too hard compared to Urdu/Farsi.
The desi crap is primarily punjabi crap, and to some extent sindhi crap as well (the non-starving sindhis). Pashtuns do not fit into that culture, but it's still closer than English, as good or bad as that is. Bollywood sells with Pashtuns just as much as with mohajirs. Its our own fault and inferiority complex about our language. Pakistani identity is primarily based on Islam and not culture. Pashtuns do not fit into the Desi culture of the majority and thats one of the reason, Pakistan is a federation where each province has its own identity.
This I disagree. The language was not necessarily to make everyone behave like desis. It was just a common language that has enough in common for everyone to be able to speak.Urdu has nothing to do with Pashtuns historically, and the only reason it has been forced upon Pashtuns and other ethnic groups is because Pakistan wants to create a certain desi muslim cultural identity to unify the vastly different Pashtuns and other Desis of Pakistan.
In an ideal world, that is the way to create cohesion. I don't know if this is what they were thinking, but if it was, it didn't work and will not likely work in the future. Most pakhtuns I know would sooner master English than Urdu (myself included). That's because Urdu has too much in common with punjabi.Maybe they feel Islam alone is not enough to unify the people so they need to erase people's cultural identity to keep them together. In other words, Pakistanis should be clones of eachother.
Because Urdu is neutral i.e. does not belong to any race, whereas the other 2 do belong to some races. Speaking the language of another person's race nationwide is not the same as speaking a neutral language.Your point regarding Pashtuns not wanting to learn Punjabi, sindi etc. Why should they have a problem with punjabi or sindhi if they dont have a problem with urdu.
No! This is one country. It's not "immigrating" when you move cities in the same country. It's the perks of living in a country. They can learn whatever language they want. Presumably it will be the language they inherited. I'm sure they'll pick up the local lingo, but to be educated in that language is too much. They are all indic languages and we should respect the language of the area we chose to immigrate to.
This might be true, but it doesn't mean anything. English has even less to do with Pakistan than the other languages. The benefit of English is that it's the language of business, and you can communicate with the world with ease. The country was founded on this basis, and it can be taught. I do, however, agree that the language has too much in common with the indian language. It is a bit of a conflict, especially since most pashtuns can't speak urdu very well. I know I have trouble with the gender crap. What kind of stupid language puts genders on everything? It's the most illogical thing in the world. The hertiage of Urdu language mainly belongs to modern India, specifically Hindustanis of the north. Hindi and urdu are basically the same language with different script. Urdu has been slightly more influenced by Arabic/Farsi due to Islam. Pakistan has nothing to do with Hindi/Urdu heritage especially before the creation of Pakistan. Except for Iqbal and a handful of others, there are no notable Urdu personalities prodcuced by Punjabis, pashtuns etc.
This is a bit of a segway, but no it's not unreasonable or shameful to see Pakistanis celebrate Mughal heritage. Mughals were a muslim empire, and had a good and powerful civilization that contributed very much to the culture. Its really shameful to see Pakistani Desis claim the mughal, hindustani heritage of India while the majority of Pakistanis i.e Punjabis sindhis etc have nothing to do with it.
I agree we should preserve our heritage, and our priorities is ourselves. There's no harm in having both i.e. Racial heritage, and then a broader regional heritage. The only problem is then it becomes learning 3 languages, which if anyone who's studied in Pak knows... 2 languages are hard enough.Anyway, us Pashtuns need to stay away from internal Desi conflicts and focus on oursleves and our priorities. It wastes our energies which can be put to good use. If standing up for our own language rubs certain people the wrong way, then so be it. The unity of Pakistani state should not come at the cost of sacrificing our Pashtun language and identity. What is the point of being part of a federation where you can't be yourself
I agree with your reason behind why you suggest what you did, I'm just unsure what the best route is.

Kabulistan, you remind me of this one time when I was browsing stormfront, I happened upon an indian troll. He was vehemently trying to sell everyone on the idea that northern indians all look pretty much like hrithik roshan, and therefore that qualifies as white aryan. He talked like you, posted lots of pictures to "prove his point"... I'm almost certain he is you.
You should post pictures of northern indians and then compare them to sindhis (non-rich) and the punjabis you've posted and them comment on how "minimal Indic" and "mostly Iranic" they are. India is not one race, in case you didn't know. Not all indians are south indians, or from the bengal.
Also why are you so desperately trying to equate them to "Iranic" vs "Indic"? Is it generally accepted that Indians do not look good?
This is not exactly relevant, but this Kabulistan guy reminds me of someone I know. There's a person who I know in the region I live in right now that's from Lahor poonjab. He sometimes posts display pics on facebook where he's shining so much light, you can barely see his actual face. It's just a hint of teeth and eyes and general outline of the shape of his face. The rest is this weird yellow light.Last edited by Elite Pakhtun; 09-23-2016, 10:23 PM.

My friend we need to stop this wrong idea of aryan = white/european...I am of strong believe that Eastern Iranics are the true and purest descendants of aryans (if aryan is to be defined as a race).Originally posted by Elite Pakhtun View PostKabulistan, you remind me of this one time when I was browsing stormfront, I happened upon an indian troll. Most Europeans do not look like aryans/afghans...
For example you will never find this type of face (very typical face in most of northwestern europe) in Afghanistan:
But this type of face is very common in Afghanistan among Pashtuns, Nuristanis and Tajiks:

In reality only afghans can claim aryan ancestry, since thats what their ancestors called themselves living in Afghanistan region, not the ancestors of europeans.Last edited by Kabulistan; 09-24-2016, 04:55 PM.

You've completely misunderstood what I said. Forget that I used the word "aryan" and pretend that I said "White" only instead of "white aryan". Do that while re-reading my post.
Answer me this: why do you love "Iranics" so much and hate "Indics"? Let's say we agree, that yes, Punjabis and even North indians are more "iranic" (whatever that is) and less "indic". Now what?

Pakistan's official language is definitely Urdu. (It is used in the media, politics in Islamabad and in most of the biggest cities like Lahore, Karachi..
Pashtuns, punjabis, baloch etc.. communicate with urdu between each other.
However as some members said, English is becoming more and more important, and even when Pakistanis speak Urdu, they include some English words, just like Indians do when they speak Hindi.
