Our Ugra has no aash or rice in it, it usually has 7 different kinds of lentils and at the end it's topped off with a little bit of fried onions and oil.

shola and ugra are both different dishes

ugra is white mushy rice served with yoghurt or ''kaldo''.. trust iam from laghman and i know what ugra is

shola as you said is sticky rice

BTW the one you have posted is an Uzbek dish not Afghan. its also called "Un oshi" in uzbeki.

Exactly! that's what I am talking about ... apparently it's like 6 diff things ... 2 kinds of maash and lubya, and nakhod ...and it's topped off by onions and oil and masteh / qurut.

In Kandahar during khairat females are required to ok ooghra to ditribute. Its sort of like 'Pahtaay' but more tasty.
Yeah it is usually made for khairaat =)
