Vegetables are not for me! no meat, no point eating it lol. I have some good desert recipes which I'll share as the days pass.Originally posted by Rabia10 View PostI am interested in Vegetarian dishes, because I live in an area where I can not get Halal meat. I especially like to make sweets, and am always looking for new recipes.

shola and ugra are both different dishesOriginally posted by Da_Kunar_Ghro View PostWe call that sticky rice "Kechri" or "Shola". Aash is similar but its mainly made with vegetables in a tomato sauce. Uzbek people also call it "Laghman".
ugra is white mushy rice served with yoghurt or ''kaldo''.. trust iam from laghman and i know what ugra is
shola as you said is sticky rice
BTW the one you have posted is an Uzbek dish not Afghan. its also called "Un oshi" in uzbeki.

Exactly! that's what I am talking about ... apparently it's like 6 diff things ... 2 kinds of maash and lubya, and nakhod ...and it's topped off by onions and oil and masteh / qurut.Originally posted by hindupashtunWe Kandaharis cook Ugrah very differently. Its thick and its not a soup.
Maybe Iqra or Mayana can understand?
AnaarOriginally posted by Da_Kunar_Ghro View PostTaso kandahari yast? I love your anaar lol
Yeah it is usually made for khairaat =)Originally posted by shlombayUghra looks different.
In Kandahar during khairat females are required to ok ooghra to ditribute. Its sort of like 'Pahtaay' but more tasty.
