My new order is below:Originally posted by Karachi View Postwhat are your top favorite cusines?
mine:
Chinese
Arabic(Lebanese)
Turkish
Japanese
Pakistan/North Indian
Iranian/Afghan
Greek
American
Saudi/Gulf
Italian
Thai
Somali/East African
Mexican
South Indian
^ so far i have tried these, i would love to try others, i still have no idea what they eat in most places in Europe/Russia, African, South America etc... Too bad you can't really find many restaurants from those regions here in the west
Chinese (Hakka style)
Pakistani
South Indian (Kerala cuisine)
Afghan
Turkish
Lebanese
American
Thai
^ the reason Turkish/Lebanese have moved below is that recently I have been finding their food really bland for my taste buds. It maybe because I have been having Chinese (Hakka Style) cuisine many times, which here in Canada is mostly made be the Chinese community from India, this food is really spicy yet very tasty. Eddy's Wok restaurant here in Mississauga is the best.
Also now I am addicted to cuisine from Kerala, which I have discovered recently from a restaurant here in Mississauga . It is really taste and spicy. I think they have the best Sea Food in India

Eddie's Wok n Roll is pretty awesome.. Eddie speaks hindi too, its funny. But other than Hakka I can't stand chinese food, no spice or salt. Asian Wok n Roll is down the street and it is owned by Eddie's sister. There is also a new place I found called Tangerine. Pretty much identical food but reallllyyy cheap, check it out if you haven't already.
Anyways. I like Afghan food the best
I don't mind Indian/Pak cuisine tbh, some stuff is okay like Biryani/Haleem/Daal/Nihari etc but they use too much oil/ghee. Mediterranean food is good but I am more of a fan of grimy shawarma joints than real, authentic med cuisine. Osmows/Lazeez Shawarma >>>

Yeah because most of them have come from India or Pakistan. Eddy's wok owners came from Karachi I believe. The Chinese community in south asia is really strong and have been living there since centuries, their cuisine style is very similar to actual Chinese, but they made their cuisine more spicy living in India, obviously because Indians wanted the spicy version of Chinese foodOriginally posted by Baraki View PostHakka Chinese is the kind of chinese i like (and Szechuan/Manchurian).

Also you are right about oil in desi food, I hate that part, but it depends where you go. I have been to some proper Pakistani restaurants, and they used very less oil. Their food was great
Also among Indian, I am really starting to like Kerala style of cuisine like I mentioned. I am not sure why so few people know about it.
Anyways Yeah Afghan food is awesome. Just looking at the menu of chopan grill is making me so hungry. http://www.chopangrill.ca/Take%20out%20Inside.jpg

Do you have any recommendations of Indian/Pak restaurants in Sauga? Because my dad's family lived in Punjab my family has that kind of food all the time and we don't actively seek out restaurants since most of them like to serve older reheated food (I hate Sahara restaurant). Lahore Tikka House on Gerard st is good though lol.Originally posted by Karachi View PostYeah because most of them have come from India or Pakistan. Eddy's wok owners came from Karachi I believe. The only SOUTH indian thing I think I have ever eaten was Masala Dossa / Dosa or whatever. It was one of the best Veggie dishes I ever had.

Punjabis use a lot of oil in my experience, I like the food from Lahore, but too much oilOriginally posted by Baraki View PostDo you have any recommendations of Indian/Pak restaurants in Sauga? here in Mississauga, try Karachi kitchen, they have 4 locations now.
^ the mississauga location is take out only, the one in Meadowvale has a nice seating area. Mississauga one is a lot cheaper. You can get a huge Biryani plate for only $5 and rest of their items are cheap too
There are other restaurants also, like Zauq, Silverspoon etc.... But I think overall, I still haven't found a resturant here in Canada that can match the quality/taste of food from Pakistan or even some of the Pakistani restaurants I tried in Middle East. They need more quality Pakistani restaurants here
